I've been trying to try out the "Long Island Bar" for a while now. It's always insanely packed and rightfully so. What's not too love about an Americana style modern diner! My boyfriend and I were celebrating our 3 year anniversary and wanted to go somewhere special. I had the day and wanted to be literally the first person in and we were. It filled up while we enjoyed the course. I started with a pricey gin martini and lemme tell ya...it was worth it! Damn! Probably one of the best martinis I've partaken in. Ingredients: "Hepple Gin, Dassai 50 Junmai Daiginjo Sake, Lustau Blanco Vermut, house bergamot/pomelo tincture." Delectable! My boyfriend ordered a beer, Kolsch. We started with deviled eggs. So classic and fantastic. I was drawn to the smoked trout dip! Love fishy dips! As a girl, I'm into the salty snacks and little bites. So I ordered that and roasted beets that had some hazelnuts and delicious brandied cherries. I was in heaven with both dishes. My boyfriend ordered the burger and fries. The burger came with an American flag toothpick jammed into the top of the bun. So American! I managed to snag some of the fries. I really could not be happier with all the decisions we made. Thank you LIB for being a great anniversary spot.

The food is very good. Loved the cheese curds and burger. Love the classic old diner like feel. Kind of annoying the way they take names for reservations and that they won't call your phone when it's your turn, and they seem kind of overwhelmed at the front with how busy they are but they're always like that so you would think they'd be more prepared.

Another institution with a well earned reputation. Rustic vibes with classic cocktails in a bustling space. I mean what mire could you need. Dates, business meetings, pregames. The possibilities are endless here. Bartenders making classics the classic way... if you like watching bartenders craft drinks, come here. It is art. Of course, it was frozen cocktail season so i got a mix of the frozen cosmo and frozen pina colada. I may never sip something tastier ever again. Just an overall fun place to be. Full of love, booze, and bad decisions!

We had the burger here, and it was alright. Not bad per se, but the meat was not as juicy and a tad dry. I think I prefer 7th st burger over this. Their fries were good though. We had a gimlet mocktail ($12 vs $18) and a scotch/soda. The gimlet was good and the latter was a little too bland for my taste but that's probably on me. We came in at 5:30 on a Saturday and we were able to get a table right away as it seems that the tables are reserved for patrons who are ordering food and there were a few empty tables even though the standing room/bar area was crowded and turning people away.

Everytime I walk by this bar, it is always poppin' with people filling up the bar inside and the outdoor tables. We decided to come check it out on a Thursday evening and were able to grab a table in the back. The space has an old school retro, diner vibe to give it a charm. They were quick to provide water for us and were consistent with the refills as well. For drinks, we had the Dolores Del Rio ($16) and Kings County Distillery LIB Single Cask ($18). The Dolores had a nice refreshing taste with a jalapeño kick, which I enjoyed. To pair with our drinks, we nibbled on the Cheese Curds ($14) as well. I have always been indifferent about cheese curds, but the ones here were probably the best I've had! They came out piping hot, so the cheese just melted in your mouth with the crunch from the batter. I also really enjoyed the sour cream dip to pair with this as well. Overall, I really enjoyed the items were did order, although the menu is quite limited. The rest of the menu didn't appeal to us too much, but the cheese curds and dolores martini was delicious.

authentically timeless, long island bar is refreshingly frozen in simpler times -- terrazzo floors, neon lights, spinning bar stools -- the same design since opening in the 1950's (which includes no reservations). just timeless charm and damn good food LI burger is the move: two dry-aged patties, gooey house-blend american, a tangy fancy sauce, and a bacon wheel lookin like a red onion. Sneaky how good it is -- only gets better with each bite. alongside fries with a golden crisp buzzing and full of energy, long island bar is the foundation for any perfect night in cobble hill (ultimately ending down the street with karaoke at montero's until late night). cobble hill doesn't have many institutions left. this one's the real deal fun fact: ramon montero, original owner of *both* LI bar + montero's, kept these businesses in the family for 50+ years (his son joseph ran montero's + daughter emma ran LI bar)

The wait: Came on a Saturday night and put our name in for 2 people at 6:29 PM. We were seated at 7:46 in the dining room. Believe the bar is first come first served, so that may be a shorter wait. The drinks: I tried the long island gimlet, the martini, and the improved pendennis club. The martini was absolutely perfect, and the improved pendennis was my second favorite. The food: My boyfriend and I shared the little gem salad, fried cheese curds and LI burger. The cheese curds were by far the best thing we ate, but the burger was also amazing. Overall would return - if only to sit at the bar and drink martinis!!

I've never met ruder restaurant staff. The hostess is unforgivably unwelcoming. Also there was not one but two hairs in my sandwich. Avoid.

Drinks 4:5: the drinks were pretty good nothing to complain about wasnt too strong but I wasnt looking for a strong drink anyway, seems like they have a good week day happy hour before 7pm Service: 4/5 the bartender was really nice and was patient with our questions it would be a 5/5 if again the food wouldnt have taken so long Ambiance: very cute place for friends, date night or if you just want to vibe out in a Friday. I put it in my back pocket as a place I might go in the future. I was recently walking in the area when I noticed a sign saying it was open for coffee. Of course I went to check it out. At the main counter, they serve the classics (mocha, latte, chai, matcha) plus a few specials. My cookie butter matcha (with oat and flavored syrup) was less than 6 dollars. It wasn't my favorite matcha, it was a pretty good deal in comparison to other cafes in the area. They have a coffee club where you pay $40 a month for free drinks (coffee or tea based), 10% of items like cocktails, food and wine. Plus you are able to use their wifi in their space which has a funky plush aesthetic. Definitely good for people who need a place to work. It is an interesting way of using this space in the morning. Of course I was told about their happy hour and the jazz Mondays. I would come back to attend that.

The interior is cozy with a number of arranged seating areas so parties of folks can gather together. The bar area has stool seating where you can watch the bartender make drinks... and there's even a separate back room area that looks like it could be rented out for private events.
