We were in the area for one day. Not many food options in this immediate area, so we stopped at the Local for an early lunch on a Monday. Small but cute interior. Not sure I'd want to be here with a full bar crowd and live music. I got fried shrimp platter with fries and mac n cheese. Shrimps were small but tasty. My wife got the French dip. Food and service were good. read more

Incredible food, especially the fried oysters. Service great. Very loud. Will try back during the week.

The service was not good. We have tried to eat here twice and both times had to leave because we had to wait 20 minutes just to get a drink order. We never even got our drinks and just decided to leave. We have seen so many great things about the food but the service is what keep us from going. We love to support local but waiting 20 minutes just for drinks is not acceptable. read more

If you go, go when Mariah and Taylor are performing. They are spectacular! Will go again.

I've eaten there twice, both times for breakfast, and the only complaint I have is that they didn't refill the coffee very often either time. On my first visit they didn't refill it once, but they did mention that they were in the middle of a switchover to lunch and they had purposely not started a new pot. They didn't offer to make any, however, which is not the height of customer service. That was also the reason they gave for substituting the home fries with tater tots without asking if the substitution was ok with me. Other than that, food was good, service was adequate if a little slow sometimes. I had eggs benedict both times and liked it. read more

A minimalist black and white interior design is one of the many charms that this independently owned bar/restaurant possesses. Blink and you'll miss it but you'll definitely be sorry you blinked if only for a tasty crock of Maryland crab soup and a Reuben that could easily put some NYC delicatessens to shame. As for service, I'll never tire of genuine southern enthusiasm where drinks are constantly refilled and there's no rush if you want to hang out a little longer. If you're still desperate for a chain, every one ever invented is just up the road but honestly... do you really want that? I knew you didn't. Save the Stuffed Crust Mega Taco Grand Slam Gordida wrapped in a chocolate chip pancake for next week. Tonight check out The Local. Five enthusiastic stars. read more

Got the beefy melt with cucumber salad and my husband got the chicken salad sandwich with onion rings. The food and service were great! Love the decor also! read more

French onion soup was very good. Crab egg roll also very good. I certainly hoping this restaurant is able to make it here in this odd location. Any southbound traffic has a U-turn to get to it most people won't do that. Unfortunate location it's a very good restaurant a, definitely worth going into. It's nice to have something super close. read more

We dined around 6:00 PM and were seated immediately. I had the half and half seafood platter, crab cake and fried oysters. The crab cake was 100% crab, little to no filler. The oysters were delicious, lightly breaded and cooked to perfection. read more

We finally got a chance to stop in here and so glad we did. The place is intimate with maybe a dozen tables, great music and just a chill vibe. The hubby ordered the mozzarella sandwich with tater tots. He said he'd definitely order both again (take this as a compliment as he's picky lol). I had the egg salad on rye (I added avocado) and the house chips. If you've ever been to Buc-ee's you know they have great homemade chips. These chips would be a big contender against theirs and love that they're dark purple! The staff was very friendly and quick. We were greeted as we walked in. All in all the place is just what the name says it is a local hangout vibe. The prices are reasonable. We were too full to try dessert but we'll be back and that Oreo cheesecake will be on my order for sure!! read more

Stopped in for lunch today, and I have never been here before so we thought we'd give it a go. The place is small joint right off if Rt. 235 Northbound. Parking is a little tight, but there seems to be enough for the size of the place. It's got about 12 tables inside and seating at the bar. The place looked clean and well maintained. Everyone working there seemed very nice as well. I ordered the bulgogi egg rolls, and those were great. I really liked them and would order those every time. I also got the "meaty melt" sandwich. It's basically a Philly chesesteak, but better. The meat was cooked well, and the roll and condiments were good as well. It's not too greasy, but just right. We also had the crab nachos, and they were ok. The flavor was pretty good, and the toppings tasted fresh. The last thing we ordered was the crab soup. It was damn good. It probably had more actual crab in it than any other crab soup we've had. It was Delicious !!!!! Highly recommend !! Overall, it was pretty darn good, and we will definitely be coming back. If you're in the area. Swing by. It's pretty good !!! read more

We've been here twice since they opened and each time we had good experiences. The staff was friendly and the service was quick each time. They've revamped the inside and it looks great. Parking can be a bit challenging if they're busy, but that isn't something that deters us from visiting. On our first visit we ordered the beef bulgogi egg rolls and the blue cheese chips. Both were good but the eggs rolls were our favorite. I had the caprese salad for my main and my husband had the Spicy Honey Chicken Crunch sandwich. My salad was fresh and my husband said his sandwich was very good. On our second visit, we had the beef bulgogi egg rolls again, because they're that good. My husband had the beefy melt and I had the Twisted Grilled Cheese. I was a little disappointed with my sandwich because it was advertised as coming with grilled jalapeño corn bread, but the bread was more like a cross between corn bread and sourdough vs a traditional corn bread. I also thought it was a little pricey. The sandwich was $19 and I paid an additional $4 for sweet potato wedges. I will say the sandwich itself was very large, I couldn't finish it. It was good, but probably not something I'd order again. We will definitely be back. read more

Ordered at 6:45 pm for a 7:30 pick up. Immediately after ordering i get a call from the restaurant informing me they are out of half of my order. I make adjustments and believe everything will be fine. This was not the case. The person picking up my order arrived to be told they forgot to make my order and were now putting a rush on it. Then staff came back out and said they never received my order to begin with. If they never received my order then how did they get my phone number to call me about not having half of the order? The food i did get it disappointing to say the least for the very high price they charge for it. Ordered Alfredo Pasta and when i got it it was plain noodles with no sauce whatsoever. The staff made no apologizes for any issues. I will never recommend this business to anyone. read more

The restaurant was so loud that the four of us at our table couldn't hear each other. Yes, some of the customers & their children were excessively loud, but the real problems seem to be the acoustics and the crowded eating area. Our server was polite; however, we had to ask for things that should've been provided (plates, napkins). When the bill arrived, there was hardly any room on the table (still full of dirty dishes) to sign our checks. Regarding the food: We were all disappointed. Two of us shared the seafood flatbread. It had entirely too much cheese and alfredo sauce (we did not finish it). The rockfish bites were also disappointing (large chunks with excessive breading) and which we also did not finish eating. The cheeseburger was acceptable, but I certainly have had burgers that were so much better. We all agreed that we will not return. read more

This place was amazing! The food was excellent; by far the best in the area! The prices were awesome. Please check this delight out!

Had the sausage breakfast burrito and it was to die for! By far the best one I've ever had. I added onion and tomato. It was so well made you got a bite of each item in every bite. I hate when all the sausage is in one part of the burrito but not here! Clearly they take their time when putting it together and it showed. Hubby had sausage gravy and he also loved it. But after a bite of my burrito he was convinced I made the better choice. We had hash browns and they were also good. My only suggestion....maybe add omelets to the menu and real home fries. The menu says home fries but they are hash browns. People were really friendly! Can't wait to come back and try the lunch menu. Also....pricing was fine! $14 for the burrito but the portion was totally justified! I could have shared it for sure. read more

The restaurant is clean and bright. The food is spot on. I had a wedge salad and the grilled cheese. The wedge salad was the best that I had in years. It was perfect! Please don't change anything about it. The twisted grill cheese was delicious. I will be back to explore of the menu! read more

The food was below average. I could have made the same quesadilla at home for 1/10 the cost of this restaurants. A blue cheese wedge salad is pretty universal and was nothing special. And for the cost of $60 I will definitely not go back! read more

Delicious meals - like farm to table. No shortcuts with ingredients. My avocado toast was over the top. French onion soup was quite flavorful with morsels of beef. so now this is the only place I'll order it from. My fave place before I head back to the West Coast. read more

Slow service. Food is okay. They seem to run out of certain foods on the daily. It's cute inside though.

Enjoyed a delicious lunch at The Local - Caprese Salad, WallyB (an amazing hamburger) and a side dish of Deviled Eggs. All the portions were large. The deviled eggs were overstuffed and had an amazing flavor. The hamburger was juicy, thick, and well-worth the price. The staff was friendly, food came quickly, hot and delicious! The restaurant is not large, but the restaurant is well-maintained, decorated beautifully, and several different types of seating options (high-top and low-top tables). And as an "older person" I felt very comfortable sitting at the bar, which reminded me of my teen years! First time there, but we will be going back! read more
