The coffee here is phenomenal! Ghirardelli chocolate for their mochas, tasty food, friendly people, and great ambiance.

Excellent coffee, good kombucha. Friendly service, nice atmosphere. Easy place to pick up a gift as well, with the mercantile type store.

With three kids I don't make it to the local as much as i would love to. Usually when They're doing Santa photos and when I only have one kid. The shop is beautiful and lots of unique finds there. This is a great place to hang out or -- like I usually do -- spend a lot of time working on my laptop, drinking bottomless Stumptown drip coffee! Becky and the crew all do a wonderful job to make everyone feel welcome here. I appreciate that they use high-quality coffee beans and that they have Humm kombucha on tap, but most of all, that everyone who comes here is treated so well. Also, there is a small store in the back, where local artisans sell their handiwork. Some of these vendors are charities. There is also a very nice chess table set up in the back, which I have seen getting used regularly (!). read more

Espresso wasn't anything impressive and neither was the baristas attitude. I stayed in the shop for a few hours doing homework and on several times the baristas were overheard talking to each other about the looks or style of a patron that just left. They had a variety of different drinks. My boyfriend ordered an iced coffee and I got a smoothie. Both were delicious!! The price for a smoothie is a lot cheaper than other places with only a 50 cent difference between each size. The service was great, the worker was very nice. I absolutely love going to The Local! It is so cozy inside and theres do many unique art pieces to look at while waiting for your coffe, tea or kombucha! For customer service here is outstanding! We may start stopping in another town on our way up north. We walked downtown and noticed the shops we were used to seeing were closed or renamed, this being one of them. It just feels wrong. I like this place! I wandered in to get a quick, hot drink in the middle of a long drive home. The girl at the counter was very sweet. There were not tons of "fancy" coffee options, but good basic fare. I can't speak to much other than the hot cocoa I ordered, which was decent. It tasted like it was made from real cocoa powder and milk - on the darker, more bittersweet side. The store is really cute and I wish I had had time to wander around more. read more

My experience was that both Baristas on 10/10/19 had very bad attitudes and did not know how to pull proper espresso shots.The coffee was bitter.I did leave a tip and kinda of expect to be at least treated ok. read more

First off they have stumptown coffee!!!!!! More importantly they know how to make good coffee. Not too sweet and wonderfully tasty. Prices are cheaper than Starpuck. As a different twist they gave lumber for sale in the back. Live edge nice wood for a good price too!!! read more

I couldn't agree more with the person who talked about the boring coffee and service. In my case I asked for a drip coffee which they ran out of. As a solution she offered to make an ice coffee. I then watched her take the last remaining 3 oz or so of drip coffee and add ice and water to it. After I tasted and said it wasn't going to work for me she just gave me look of disgust and offered nothing more. Needing coffee I then asked for a simple Americano. It also tasked like water. Not willing to go for a third try I just took it and went on with my day. It seemed like a cool place but not so much! read more

Stopped here on the way to/from hiking at Mt Rainier and was pleasantly surprised to find they had Stumptown and at reasonable prices, too. They also serve 5 different kombuchas on tap as well as honey in bulk. This will be my meeting spot for friends and carpooling (public parking lot a block away). I deducted one star for scalding my non-dairy milk in the latte I ordered. This is a common yet discouraging mistake I see often. Waited 10 minutes next to the barista in front of them making a drink. Was acknowledged but it was one person helping two customers. While I was waiting, another patron came in and walked in front of me to the counter. The barista gave them immediate attention and took their order. Didn't say a word to me. They apparently knew one another. They started working on the patron's order and didn't acknowledge me again. Bad customer service experience which I was really surprised about because I never had poor service there before. Headed to Starbucks because I will certainly be served. Really prefer to support local but that means they need to be customer-focused. read more

My wife and I love The Local. Super friendly service and reasonably priced coffee too. We're trying to move to the amazingly friendly town of Enumclaw from Issaquah and hope to make "The Local" one of our go to spots for relaxing over coffee and tea and good selection of snacks. I noticed some board games spread out amongst the tables too. I can see myself reading, putting together a puzzle, writing in my journal, or playing chess or checkers here on both rainy or sunny days before hopefully walking to our local home in Enumclaw! Meanwhile, we don't mind the 45 minute drive from Issaquah just to be able to enjoy this and other cheerful places of business, amongst down to earth friendly people in town!. read more
