We walked in as a family of 5 on a Friday at 6:30pm. We were seated immediately, our hostess was quick, attentive, and thrilled our kids (4,7,12) by complimenting them on their ordering skills. We've had this place a few times now (dining in and take out) and have always enjoyed the food and service, but last night the food was awful... Maybe they just had an off night but it's likely we will not go back. The amount of money you pay for what we received, is not worth it. The fries were hard and stale, the burgers were dry, buns were clearly burnt and the wedge salad was a huge disappointment and nothing like how they use to make them. I should have taken pictures of the food but didn't think about it until after we decided not to continue eating and we had already threw it away at that point. I would say try it for yourself but don't have high expectations as it seems they may not be as good as they use to. read more

We came here after a terrible experience at a different restaurant. This little restaurant is located right on Main Street in the heart of downtown Gresham. It's surrounded by little shops and other little restaurants. When we walked in they were pretty packed but we were seated right away. The servers were very friendly and attentive. Our food came out in a reasonable amount of time. The burgers were flavorful and were of good size. Your meal comes with chips but you can upgrade to fries for $1. They have several burgers to choose from as well as salads but the menu isn't extensive. I'd go back to try a different burger. read more

While I've been here and handful of times since it's opening, I've stopped at The Local Cow twice in the past month. The reason why, I discovered their SALADS! I can choose the burger option I want, skip the bun & have my pick made as a salad version. I love this! I went with the Left Coast as a salad. There's nothing I didn't like about it. The vegetables were all very fresh & crisp. I felt like it was a healthier version of getting a Burger with a bun. My husband also had the Taco Salad and loved it. I know this is a "cow meat" place, but it would be cool to add chicken at some point. There's always a steady stream in The Local Cow. It's a small joint with simple furniture. The staff is great. Very friendly & efficient! Thanks to Genevieve for your great personality and keeping our H2O refilled. Stopped in again on 8/9/18- Started with the Blue Fries! They are damn delicious! I've been here twice and I loved both the burgers I ordered each time! The portions are huge for reasonable price, and you definitely walk out feeling satisfied. Located in Downtown Gresham, you can walk next door and get some ice cream or candy (if you have the stomach for it.) I recommend both the Rockwood burger and the Hawaii 503 burger. Definitely upgrade to their cow fries, it is amazing with so much flavor. read more

My second visit rates a mention. They have good food. Not great, but really good bordering on great. The food is made with quality products. The first bite of my hamburger sliders told me I was in for a treat. You could taste quality beef in the first bite. So sorry when eating the last bite. Seasoned truffle fries are delicious. Don't order two orders unless you are REALLY hungry. An order of fries in this place is enough for two, or three if you are light eaters. What really made are visit special was the people who worked there. Our waitress Cris was a gem. She was prompt, courteous, and went out of her way to serve our party of 12, celebrating a birthday. The prices here are on the medium to high side. But I don't mind paying a little more if you get what your paying for. I recommend this place. When busy you may have to wait so get there early! read more

This place used to be really good, but over the years the quality of the food has declined to the point that we won't go again. I hadn't gone in well over a year, but my teen son really wanted their garlic parmesan ("cow") fries, so we went for dinner. He ordered the Pendleton burger, I had a grilled ham and cheese, and we shared an order of cow fries. Half the fries were ok, but the other half was cold, and the topping was clumped and freezing! We mixed everything up to distribute the heat, and that seemed to do the trick... But did we get half old fries and half fresh? Yuck. My teenager, who finishes everything, ate about half or maybe a little more of his burger, then said he was done - because it wasn't good. It was bland and overcooked. My grilled cheese hardly had any cheese on it, and the bread was hard as a rock. It was just dry dry dry - the exact opposite of what you want in a grilled cheese. We're done. There are SO MANY great places to eat in Gresham and Troutdale, there's zero reason to try to choke down overcooked, flavorless food. read more

We both opted to upgrade our fries to the cow fries, which in hine sight wasnt the best idea. We should have shared the fries. Our burgers were so delicious and filling, we had a whole order of fries as leftovers between the two of us. I got the burger with bleu cheese and mushrooms, totally forgot the name, but it was rich in flavor and delicious. The gluten free bun even held its own against all the dripping oooey gooey yumminess of the burger. Which is quite impressive for a gluten free bun. I ate here recently and I came after so splash pad fun with three cranky kids. We sat outside directly in the sun that surly bore all its focus on just my unprotected bald head, while Three kids whined about how long the food took to arrive. Constructively I would serve the appetizers and food closer together but you were busy so it's not a deal breaker, I'm human not a Terry (Male Karen). But I digress, the wait, the heat, the kids, the irritating wife, none of it could prepare me for the Garlic Fries and house sauce. Holy shnikies, my only regret is that I ordered a burger at all, I should have sent it to get boxed up and ordered a 2nd batch of Garlic Fries, but sadly I did not. I've resolved to return alone and have my fill, I will return and I will feast on the crunchiest while soft in the middle fries covered in cheese and garlic and a mouth watering house sauce. The Local Cow was amazing. I relied on Yelp! to lead me to a great burger joint in Portland, and it did not fail me. Now, what did I eat? I had a Fort Stevens burger (Blue Cheese) and Cajun Cow Fries, with a Local Logger can of bear. I have to say, the combo was amazing. YUM!!!!!! Super good. Love this spot, it's the perfect addition to the downtown Gresham area. I really wish more restaurants like this existed in this area. The restaurant is super cute inside, good amount of seating and very kid friendly which is always a plus for parents. The food is nice, hot, fresh and delicious. Prices are very reasonable too. I had the burger with bacon and onion strings on it, very tasty!! French fries are delicious. Beer is ice cold and good. Staff was friendly as well. This is a review for their West location (doordash delivered). Super disappointing burgers and fries. My burger completely fell apart, was pretty bland, incorrectly prepared (banana peppers weren't crispy fried), and the "cow fries" were missing most of their ingredients (there was only a pretty small amount of parm, no garlic, rosemary, or truffle oil). I remember really enjoying the original location, would not return to this one. Two stars for the restaurant being kind and sending cash with the dasher for the items they could not fulfill (their menu is incorrect). read more
