I love this place with all my heart. Every morning after I drop my son off at school I swing by and pick up a dirty chai because I'm addicted... it's literally the BEST dirty chai I've EVER had... and I've had a lot.... It's so creamy and peppery and caffeinating without that bitter after taste... literally so good. I'm obsessed. Also, service is also SO fast. I can get in and out without adding to my long commute into the city. You might not even know it's there, but Inside this little whole in the wall reminds me of one of those warm coffee shops from all the books and tv shows you seen... like alamedas version of Lukes Diner from Gilmore girls. WHEN: Weekends around 10am They've got a new layout since my last review and I like it! The communal tables are nice and I like the lounge chairs by the windows for some nice relaxation. I, lost most folks here, come to be productive. The best spot to get a plug to charge your device is near the wall towards the entrance/exit. So far there has been no laptop thefts here. I feel very safe and comfortable working here. Here's what I've had food and drink wise: TEA - $3 For a regular size, they have a good amount of tea selections here. THE MAGIC CUP OF HEALTH - $6 Honey, Spices, Orange, Lemon, Ginger. I ordered this after calling in sick but still needed to get work done. It really hit the spot and it was quite tasty--for a healthy beverage. HAM AND CHEESE CROISSANT - $6 Want something small? This was very good and is the portion we should eat for breakfast or large snack. I really enjoyed this warm sandwich--toasty croissant, cheesy, and satisfying. CHEESE PLATE - $10.50 (Full) Assorted Cheeses (White cheddar, Brie, and Pepper Jack), Snacks (Mixed nuts, Olives, and pickled onion), and Baguette (5 slices). My friend and I got the FULL platter instead of Half because we are sharing. The cheese were large cuts and there's so many of it! This size would be good for 3-4 to share! The pepper jack was the spiciest I ever had. I really enjoyed the onions and almonds. Pretty good deal for the amount you get! I stopped in just randomly on a Saturday morning looking for a bite and a coffee before doing some Christmas shopping, and what a sweet little place I stumbled into! It's very cosy inside; I could imagine coming here to study, read, catch up with friends, work on solo passion hobbies, etc! As well, of course the coffee is good!! And the food is yummy too (: the andoullie wrap came with a generous amount of avocado and was well proportioned. Certainly enough to share if you need a small bite with a friend, and not too much for just yourself if you want to treat yourself to a nice breakfast. The staff here are also very kind. They don't rush you while you peruse the long menu, and overall have great attitudes. I'll certainly be back but with friends! I must tell the people I love about this spot. read more

A great working cafe! Love the ambiance - casual and friendly. The coffee is DELISH - I've tried the mocha, the s'more latte (get the whip cream and marshmallows!!), matcha latte and their seasonal drinks. The food is also yummy - tuna melt, BLT, salads, the veggie bagel is devine, pastries, etc. Keep in mind, the local high school has their lunch break at 1240 so try to come before or after to beat the crowd. They have free WiFi, outlets and extension cords, lots of seating and tables, clean bathroom. Truly lucky to have this place close by. I WFH and try to come at least once a week. read more

The coffee shop has huge windows which creates a sense of openness and brightness. They do have outlets so it is a great place to hangout with friends or work on your laptop. This was such a great spot to settle down with my laptop and get work done. Got an oat milk vanilla latte and I have to say it was pretty good and I definitely am craving their latte again. This is the SPOT! The vibes are chill, the staff is VERY friendly, and the inside is hip and cozy. I went on a whim to try some of their pour over coffee. I ended up getting their tea because it was later in the day and I knew the caffeine would've killed me, but I enjoyed my tea immensely. The person I was with and I ended up stumbling into a Monday night trivia night. It was one of the coolest things to randomly come across and even though we got last place to all of the pro-level trivia teams, we had a lot of fun. They also sometimes have musicians come in and play music during the day -- lovely ambiance and a good place to spend a Sunday. I ordered a dirty chai latte and it was just okay. I would come to this cafe again but I'd maybe try a regular chai or a different drink altogether. The chai was spicy as I like it, but strangely very very watery. A lot of other people in the cafe ordered chai based drinks so I assume the chai is good... maybe this was a one-off experience? The wait times for drinks can be a bit long. Truly the best local cafe you could have. This place has become a second home when I need to study! The staff are so generous, and they are very attentive to getting your order right. Even if they make a rare mistake on a drink order, they always remake it. There was one time I forgot to say half the amount of matcha when I was ordering and just ended up drinking half the drink, and the owner noticed my cup was bussed almost full and remade it for me. I love this café, I wish they were open late. The only downside is that it closes at 5 PM, and there aren't many cafés that are open in the evening. The smoothies are amazing, the environment is great plenty of table, space, a great place to study. bathrooms are clean. I came to check this place out and like supporting local coffee shops. They have a good amount of seating and lots on their menu in terms of coffee drinks (espresso, cortado, macchiato, etc) and small desserts. I liked that they had Spanish guitar music playing, however it was play *way too loud*. People would need to be shouting to hear each other. Also, I ordered an Americano and did not see that they actually made the espresso shots as I received my coffee way too quickly. The drink itself also tasted like the regular drop coffee, which was also a bit watered down as is the case with large batches of drip coffee made from preground coffee. Maybe I just had a bad cup. I'll still give this place another shot, but the coffee was average at best. If the staff weren't so friendly, I'd have rated them as a two-star. read more

Was looking for a new spot to try out in Alameda for some coffee and maybe a light snack/breakfast. Found this place on yelp of course, and decided to try it out. While trying to find it I actually passed it twice so be careful looking for it. But once I got it I got a nice cafe vibe inside with people working on their laptops, reading a book or just sitting in the corner by the window taking in the sun and people watching. Also noticed a cool bar behind the counter which I could imagine would be good for evenings, will have to revisit for that sometime in the future. On this day I ordered a Vietnamese coffee for myself and a hazlenut latte for my girlfriend along with a breakfast sandwich. The vietnamese coffee was just about perfect and tasted great and had that nice kick that I look from one. The latte was also really good and not too sweet but just right. The breakfast sandwiches, which were on bagels, were solid and tasty nothing really super special but they were good. Would def come back and try some other things on the menu. read more

The food quality has diminished since the owners sold to a new owner. They provide a meal thats needs real silverware and offer plastic knives and forks that break. The attitude presented is as if they are doing you a favor and not appreciative of the business you provide to them.
