Specializing in its name sake, a wide variety of Sangria is on offer, split in to categories according to the base wine used, that being either Tinta (red) Blanca (white) or Cava (sparkling). ( For those not in the know, Sangria is a Spanish wine based cocktail mixed with various fruits and juices). In addition to the wine, a concoction of various spirits is also thrown into the mix, so the end result is fairly potent. Sold by the carafe (from which you get about four glasses) at $30-40 its actually not that bad a deal, and Sangria's mixologists somehow manage to make the end result taste quite good. My favorite is the the Tinta Tradicional, which (unfortunately) is the most expensive at $40 a carafe, but (fortunately) is also the most potent. Although there is often a line up, Sangrias' amicable and lovely bouncer makes the wait seem to fly by. All in all a pretty fun place to visit.

She really is a champ, unlike those bouncers that are just waiting for an excuse to knock your teeth in. That said, I'm hoping I never get on her bad side... This bar on a weekend (or even weeknights, for that matter) is ridiculous. The amount of people cramming themselves through its doors is quite a sight, and I'm beginning to think there's something in the Sangria besides copious amounts of booze and fruit. Whatever it is, it tastes amazing, and it's a sure way to get hammered without spending too much nor hopping from bar to bar. Why would you want to move anyway? Once you get a bit of prime real estate here, you're not going to want to go anywhere (not even to the bar) out of fear of losing your table. If you do need to head back in for a refill, make sure you have someone holding the fort, because there are vultures everywhere just waiting for an empty seat.

Music filled the small restaurant and gave it a good theme overall. The longest I have ever had to wait there is 45 minutes and it was definitely worth it. I do wish that they were larger though cause there food should be enjoyed by the masses. I order the empanadas. They were three small, tasty "samosa-like" pieces that were filled with chicken, spices, grilled corn and served with guacamole, mexican coriander and tomato. The flavours were exquisite, rich and the food was well presented in a little bowl. Some of the other people who I went with ordered burgers which also looked quite nice. I have also had the burgers before and they are absolutely fantastic. I was lucky enough to let them share a chip with me, and they tasted amazing, they were seasoned in paprika and served with an incredible sauce that reminded me somewhat of a creamy mustard. The burgers had a nice beef patty seasoned with Columbian tomato - a nice sauce of cilantro and tomatoes. All the salad was fresh and the lettuce was shredded well. There was also seasoned onions and cilantro on the side which were nice along with some oven toasted corn chips. The tastes were so nice. I can still taste the meal even after leaving the restaurant almost an hour ago, however they are most pleasant. The dessert was just as good. My waitress described it as being like "creme" caramel. I am glad I ordered it and it was well priced too at just $7. It was custard (served in a bowl shape) with a caramel sauce poured around the edges. It was served slightly warmed which made it impeccable on the palette. Although I am not much of a sweet tooth, that was a great way to finish after the exquisite spices and guacamole from my main meal. Overall, this restaurant has a good balance of the key things that all restaurants should have. The serving proportions were comparable to the "goldilocks theory", not too big, not too small, just right. Foods and spices used were balanced and added to the flavours of key ingredients positively. Pricing was well adjusted and the atmosphere with the music could make one feel as though they were in Mexico having a siesta if they were to just close their eyes for a minute - albeit the decor did help contribute to such a delusion, as the restaurant is well decorated with blackboards that have key mexican culinary definitions, lamps and mexican objects scattered on the shelves. I will be going back (in fact since writing this review, I have gone back twice). A great dining experience and like few others I have ever had before. One little gripe that I have is that the mexican music was a tad loud for conversation but it was not that bad. I thought that Kwik Stix (in the same block) was good, however Lucky Lupitas just takes dining at Bedford Park to the next level. And at $100 for five people with drinks and dessert, the value can not be beaten.

Señors and señoritas who are fans of good Spanish cooking should fandango over to Tapas on Hindley…read more On offer are a series of different Tapas dishes designed to share, each more delicious than the last. My absolute favourite dish here (or probably anywhere really) is the Albondigas, a type of Spanish meatball. I've not had Albondigas elsewhere in Adelaide, and if I have, it certainly was not as memorable as the Albondigas from here. Another unassailable option is the paella which is a favourite of patrons who cha cha there heels into this Barcelona-inspired venue. There are many cocktail options, but probably the most affordable and delicious on offer are the jugs of Sangria. In addition to the food and drink, Tapas on Hindley also provides entertainment. On Thursdays you can shimmy the night away with Salsa and on Saturday DJ's Sala and Jime will take you for a vuelta (spin). The best time to attend is Friday night, where a local and phenomenal team of flamenco dancers accompanied by equally expert guitarists and drummers, stomp and flutter for your amusement. The dance show is free for Tapas clientele who Hindley Street traffic can envy as they wander past the window. Portion size can be very varied, but the staff will keenly rectify any under-servings. On one occasion a waiter brought a couple of my tapas out and before I said anything immediately turned around saying "no, that's not enough really is it?" and sorted my dishes out. In summer, sitting out the front is definitely the way to go, although you will likely be accosted by the people that make Hindley Street interesting. Once when seated here a man approached the men at the table seated next to me and attempted to sell them meat packs from within a coles bag. The guys responded "yeah, I don't think I want to buy steak from a guy in the street eh?" besides, he was eating at a restaurant. Tapas on Hindley, better than random meat from a bag.

This night is hosted by Salsa Connection and the unstoppable Kevin mans the decks while moving in inhuman latino ways. He is bright and flamboyant and together with his partner Chelsea are amazing to watch on the dance floor. The night I went I was introduced to Pat the Bar man who was very accommodating but then it wasn't busy and he had time to chat and he looked like he needed some work so we obliged by ordering a few drinks. It was a little strange though to be served champagne in an old fashioned wide glass. I am not sure if they were trying to be cool retro or just didn't realise that champagne has moved on from then. The best thing about the night was that it felt clubby, everyone seemed to know each other and most of them knew how to dance which was great to watch. The music was cool latino grooves and there was a good ambience. If you are looking for somewhere young and funky this isn't it but if you are looking for genuine salsa and some good clean fun this is a good spot.
