First impression upon entering the ex-Fasta Pasta site was wow, what a refreshing transformation. Curiousity of Hawaiian and Japanese fusion brought us here.
The two blue replica food trucks stood out amongst the timber. The exposed walls and ceilings was subtle which made way for booths, tables and chairs to be the centre of attention.
Warm lighting was distributed throughout the space. Music was a tad loud for my liking which could become an issue if there were more patrons.
Glassware and serving wares was simple, but modern. I especially liked the turquoise plates.
We were offered two menus, the main one and the lunchtime specials.
Table service is part and parcel of this establishment, as the friendly waiter attended to us offering us water, then took our order.
We both decided on a bento box this time. I chose the soft-shelled crab and my friend had the terriyaki chicken. It was a difficult decision because so many items sounded delicious.
Our meals arrived in a timely manner and we did not waste time digging in.
My friend found her terriyaki to be too salty, but my crab was perfectly cooked, with a nice crunch to every bite.
All bento boxes are served with a seasoned bean sprouts, cucumber and celery salad, a potato salad, broad beans and pickles.
If you fancy something different, but with hints of familiarity, then come check it out. Fusion is very much alive in this place.
