The crab meat was like a paste. I was embarrassed to have started serving them. 3 of them were opened and discarded, the rest were put in the freezer to be returned. Upon returning to Samtass to ask for a refund, they would only refund the weight of the remaining crabs instead of refunding the amount shown on the receipt. They then told me to call the office to speak to Tony, the manager, which I did. I left a message with the office for Tony to call back and have received no response. I now regret spending over $1k with them this Christmas and will be taking my business elsewhere and sharing this experience with others.

All meals were perfect for sharing and it was all complemented well by a simple SA wine list. The service was nice, but a little busy at the time and overall we were impressed with the cost of our meal for the quality of the dishes - good seafood ain't cheap people! For those with the Entertainment guide there's a healthy discount available - they've never scratched my card although that could have been representative of the amount of times I've been there. The staff, as you'd expect at a top level hotel, are all very friendly, and service orientated. There's parking available in the Stamford car park, I've put my car in there once or twice, but my recommendation is parking across the road in the convention centre carpark.

One of the waiters seemed quite reluctant to serve us, like he hated his job, but the other one was friendly, attentive, and joked around with us quite a bit. I quite enjoyed her as our server. There isn't much more I can say about this place other than how I felt it was completely average. The prices were a little on the higher end (which is, of course, to be expected), the servers are 50/50 (you may get one who hates their job and seems reluctant to serve you, but you also may get one who loves interacting with people), and the food is pretty average. Overall, I wouldn't complain about this place, but I don't know if I would recommend it.

Though simple, Paul's does each dish magnificently, taking the philosophy of "less is more" to heart. The fish and shellfish is fresh and well-prepared and always satisfying. My favourite dish has to be the spicy crumbed prawns - crunchy deep fried prawns with a lot of kick, and they never disappoint. For such a simple dish, I've never had better prawns anywhere else in Australia - and that's saying a lot considering the great seafood available in this country. The interior decor is simple and even a little out-dated - but I feel that this only adds to the restaurant's traditional fish-shop feel. The upstairs balcony area is perfect for balmy summer nights, and complimenting a plate of fish and chips with a nice cold beer makes for excellent dining.

The place has a really good atmosphere - they've managed to keep it down-to-earth and unassuming, but produce excellent dishes. The rawness (in terms of flavour) of each dish makes the whole experience more organic and real. You just want good seafood, and Paul's provides just that. There's a nice balcony sitting area upstairs, which is great for hanging out in summer. The place gets pretty busy, which is always a good sign.
