Pork belly and fried chicken Bau
    Stefan G.

So I have wondered a long time if there was anyone in Adelaide that makes Bau (Chinese Taco) and YES there is. The place is called Mamachau, They do 4 flavours, 2 meat and 2 veg, with some added salads wrapped in a steamed rice flour Bau. I tried the Master Stock Pork (So juicy and tasty and a KFC (Korean Fried Chicken) with salad and again it was so delicious. Other items on the menu are a variety of rice paper cold rolls, salads and some rice bowls. (that I've yet to try) If the Bau are anything to go by this place is a HIT of Asian Fusion Goodness.

With all the hype and 5 star recommendations, how could I not bookmark Mamachau and visit it the next day?! This cute 'snack bar' is prefect for a budget watching feed! I ordered the KFC and Pork Belly Asian tacos which were just perfect with hitting all the right flavors in such a small portion size. Fresh herbs, vegetables and amazing sauces/dressing, it was defiantly finger licking goodness! Will be visiting again and again, to try more amazing creations!

I have died and gone to Mamachau Heaven!! The Korean Chicken Asian taco!!! The crispy chicken, delicious mayo... Oh my!! It's worth every penny. Do yourself a favour and head on in. Just because I am super picky, I will fault one minor, non-food related thing. Be gone $10 eftpos limit!!!

Cold rolls and lotus chips baby!! Nom nom nom

Bao... Yup, like all the other Yelpers shouting out the name Mamachau... it's all about the Bao. Well... actually I lie... the lotus chips are amazing here as well. If you need lunch on the run or if you really love a cheap tasty eat in the City, you have made it to the right destination. You can get 2 Bao, side & a drink for $11.50. Otherwise a range of meal deals for around $10-$15 inclusive of a drink. What, you've never tried a Bao? We can clearly not be friends until you do. They are a Vietnamese treat. It is a steamed sweet bun various delicious fillings. They are almost like your Asian version of a taco. In fact, they call them tacos here. If you want to be naughty get that KFC (Korean Fried Chicken) Bao, you wont regret it! Ok, so some of us are a little more health conscious. If that is you, try some of their cold rolls. They are bang on! Fresh and tasty. I really like the tuna with wasabi mayo and the coconut poached chicken with green mango. Best part (apart from the amazing cheap food) is that the staff are just pretty much the friendliest around town! You always get a smile and a conversation.

3x Taco: pork, tofu and chicken.

Last week my girlfriend sent me a photo of some delicious looking pork belly in a white bun with some slaw and sauce. She knows that pork belly is my favorite. Which is how I find myself at Mamachau at lunch on Friday. I decided to try 3 of the Bao (or Asian Taco's if you will). The Chicken, The Tofu and the Pork Belly. The Tofu was good, with out being great. But the other two...off the hook good. The pork had a hell of a lot of flavor to it and the chicken was nice and crispy. And at $3.50 each - great value!! I will definitely be back and am keen to try the rice box as well! Two thumbs up!

Pork belly and KFC bao :)

I had the pork belly and the KFC bao and boy was I in heaven!!! Superb little street food type place that has a few tables and chairs to sit or simply grab and go. The KFC bao was my favourite and I just wish I had ordered like 2 more!!!! Great crispy chicken with a juicy tender bite and perfect sauce to boot! Buns were a little soggy as I took mine home to eat - but I'm sure if u ate em straight away it wouldn't be soggy at all. Cannot recommend this place enough as a go to for a quick bite to fill that pre-lunch or pre-dinner void OR simply because it's Monday

Amazing Asian tacos! Yummo! The pork is the best! Melts in my mouth!

Love the food here! I tried the Asian taco, the pork and the KFC (Korean Fried Chicken)! Both are amazing but I would love the pork more because they FUCKING melts in my mouth! Definitely recommended to all my friends. I will be back mamachau~

I did takeout so when I got home, bao was already bit cold but still soft and tasted the subtle sweetness.

Just in case you're interested to know, I've never been to Korea before. Here you can eat authentic Korean food in Adelaide. Which sounds kinda cool, doesn't it? During my meal at Korean Sojubar I didn't expect to get smiles, a generous 50c discount off my drink and Korean celebrities on their wall TV screen. (I think it was because maybe the owner looked very happy, just getting loaded with cash from a couple of wealthy customers who paid before me.) From mere personal observation, experimenting with Korean dining makes the owner a helluva lot of money (I can't stop mentioning the two customers before me who dropped hundreds of dollars to eat Korean food)... But I'll be the first to say that spending over $33 for a very flat lemon lime bitter drink, and mildly flavoured Korean food was not something I would be willing to do again. Star rating based upon the following: -Awesome owner, you clearly rock for giving me 50cents off my drink. It's ironic, because my lady friend found 50cents when we were walking to the beach earlier today! Whatever was happening, spiritual or not, there was something about the finding money or saving money a lot today?! Could it be she's my lucky charm, or something really good is about to happen to me? $3.00 in total for my experience here! I did pretty well here! -How flat my lemon lime bitter tasted. It was a warm day and they gave me no cold ice whatsoever. Wow. -There were only two other groups of customers on a late Saturday afternoon...I was worried that this place might have been packed upon entering, but luckily there was barely anyone.
