Tusmore Pizzeria is one of those places that you go to if you want to treat yourself. Unlike the…read morejunky shit offered by pizza chains all over the state, this little pizza shop cares about what they put on their dough. Although they're a little pricier than your average pizza chain, you can expect a better bang for your buck. I'm sick of ordering pizzas from places like Dominos, and opening the box to find a couple of measly slices of pepperoni. Tusmore Pizza knows better, and make sure the dough is covered in toppings. The topping selections are extensive and gourmet, and you can choose to have ingredients like artichoke and sardines on your pizza if you so wish. The sizes are also varied, with small pizzas enough to satisfy one, or family size options to cater for many (or for a few, if you want to stock your fridge with leftovers).

Having said that, when it comes to a fairly decent delivered pizza, this place has earned my respect. After two dismal failures with other places... I found the toppings tasty (loved the touch of basil) and the crust nice :) The only thing that worried me is that for $46 delivered, there should've been a garlic bread and a bottle of coke thrown in. The delivery guy followed instructions to reach my place and had the right change on him and answered a question I had adequately.

The one thing they all have in common isn't low prices, or flashy advertising, it's a loyal customer base built on consistency. The guy who runs the Crafers has been there as long as I can remember, making Crafers the most consistent pizza bar in the hills. A normal pizza menu, with a few different and veg options. The garlic bread is the old traditional stuff wrapped in foil. If I could eat garlic bread all the time I would. But bread makes you fat. If you find yourself waiting for a pizza, check out the dining room, there's some genuinely awesome and fascinating photos of old Crafers town. The sort of stuff you'd only see at the state library or a museum. This pizza bar was a part of my childhood. And is now a part of my adulthood. Mmmm pizza.

Unfortunately for Crafer's Pizza, they're located across the road from Jimmies, a gourmet pizza restaurant. This means that they stick to the tried and true method of alright pizza at a pretty good price. My favourite thing about Crafer's Pizza is that they deliver late into the night. I've had the odd study session when I was living up in the hills where cramming got so intense I forgot to eat and didn't have the time to cook. Thankfully these guys were there to punctuate my study with hot, cheesy pizza.

Usually morphing from a nice and relaxed young lady into a cranky, ravenous she-beast, this time it mangled my brain even further on the way to pick up some pizza for Friday night dinner. Usually a great driver (not even one speeding fine!), I managed to drive the wrong way through the ONE WAY bottle shop drive through, much to the amusement of hotel patrons sitting outside. After a couple more minor traffic misadventures, we finally arrived in one piece at Feathers Pizzeria to collect our order and luckily -for me and everyone in a 2k radius- the pizza was awesome. Still trying to atone for Christmas related over indulgences, I opted for the Di Zucca: pumpkin, feta, mozzarella, red onion and rocket, and it was the BOMB. So tasty and I could feel totally smug about the veg content too. My partner in crime went with the Salsicce sausage pizza and was equally pumped. It's a super tasty looking menu with plenty of pizza, pasta and salads (next on my: list is the Caesar Salad pizza), so if you find yourself in the Eastern suburbs undergoing an epic hunger-related transformation, hit up this bad boy for your remedy.

The pizza maker was wearing gloves and handling food, but the trouble is he kept wiping his hands on his dirty trousers. Food has gone downhill. Won't go back there. The previous owner Adrian had a personality. The new owners have none. Since writing this review, I mentioned my concerns to a doctor friend, and he said he had a similar experience. He saw them wiping their gloved hands over their clothing and then putting their hands back in assorted food trays. He won't go back there either.

However, for what Sugo is and what they provide, 5 stars. Not your typical pizza bar. I ordered (by recommendation) & paid via Menulog & received my first occasion shopper 10% discount - all went well. I arrived at the exact designated time and the pizzas were hot & ready to go! The gentleman serving us was lovely, polite and professional, and we parted with a joke, a nice guy. My partner also wanted a half chicken and we were surprised with by their reasonably extensive menu. Roasted Lilydale chicken, which was well seasoned with a beautiful flavor, a small choice of salads and roasted vegetables, and the usual offenders like chicken wings, schnitzels, desserts/drinks etc but with a few surprises, like polpette which are quite uncommon, the latter my meal when I next visit. The Margherita and Siciliano pizzas I ordered were commended by my children. They weren't paper thin, like a recent trend where the pizza is just too thin to hold anything, but still quite thin & well formed, not oily and base well cooked, with tasty ingredients. I couldn't find fault in what they presented us with!
