DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY. Stopped here for a drink after having dinner with friends. Thought it would be cool because of the beer list. Middle aged white haired man behind the bar is the owner. I had a beer that my friend ordered and then stepped up to the bar to order another. When I tried to order, he was immediately rude before I got 2 words out of my mouth. He started yelling (yes, yelling) at me and telling me I had to wait. I was shocked. It made no sense. When I politely asked why he was so excited, he yelled, "WHAT'S YOUR PROBLEM?!?!" at me. It was obvious he had been drinking. I couldn't believe it so I quietly stepped down to the other end of the bar and ordered my beer from a female bartender who was polite. She confirmed he was the owner. I asked if he was usually rude and she made an embarrassed face at me as if to confirm that he is and to say sorry. I went back to my friends only to notice the owner kept glaring at us and saying things to other patrons who would turn and look at us. We tried to ignore him, but he started yelling "WHAT"S YOUR PROBLEM?!?" at me across the bar and then called me an asshole. We couldn't believe it. He then yelled at us to leave. I told him that I would finish my beer and go, and then the owner's son (who was also drunk) suddenly PHYSICALLY ATTACKED ME FROM BEHIND!! It was unreal. All of this spilled out into the street where the owner and his son followed us down the block with some of their friends and continued to try to engage us in a fight. Could not believe it. We had to jump in a car and leave. SPEND YOUR MONEY SOMEWHERE ELSE. This place is awful. I've been all over the world and I've never seen anything like this. I read the other review on YELP where the patron recalled being treated horribly for being gay and it sounded just like what we experienced from this drunk jerk (the owner). AWFUL OWNER, AWFUL PEOPLE, AWFUL SERVICE, AWFUL BAR. Do yourself a favor and don't expose yourself or your friends to this place. It's not safe and they don't deserve your money. read more

ALL OF THE BEER!!!!! What an awesome beer selection! Usually I am lucky if a bar has one or two sours, they had many. They have lots of beers on tap here and even more in bottles. I wish it was closer to my house so I could hang out and uber home. Bartender was very knowledgeable about the beers which is always appreciated. After seeing what we ordered initially, he made other suggestions. This is just a bar, reminds me of somewhere old school like a dive in fishtown in Philly. They have a popcorn machine and chips, they do not serve food. They do have a stash of menus from local delivery spots and they don't care if you order food in. Making a name for themselves for being the live music and craft beer destination. Not a fancy place, but if you're there for a show, that likely doesn't really matter. Good layout with the interior of the bar to accommodate live music. It is possible to enjoy the bar, and perhaps the Bruins on one of their TV's in the bar/entrance area, while a band is playing at the opposite end of the venue. One big flaw in my book was the use of plastic cups for beer. I understand it was a busy night with a popular band playing the night I attended, however craft beer and a plastic cup misses the boat. read more

Review I wrote for The Lighthouse in Ludlow, MA. (Our ~kind not welcome there.): As a Ludlow resident, I thought I found a spot I could chill at comfortably: close to home, craft beer, pool tables...Unfortunately, the last (third overall) time I visited this bar, I experienced what can only be described as overt discrimination. When we (my girlfriend and I) arrived, it was about as full as I've seen it: there were a few couples at the bar, some rogue dudes, a table of teachers (represent!), with 1 bartender on and this middle aged white man who was identified as the owner by the bartender. My girlfriend (the only person of color in the bar) was able to get us drinks fairly quickly. After a game of pool, I went up to get a drink. I waited at the bar for 5 minutes. The bar tender and the owner were both busy around me, serving the few couples on the other end. However, when these 2 white women from the teacher table (ironic because I'm a teacher myself) came up RIGHT next to me, they were served instantly by the female bar tender! I tried to order but she flew away after serving them. Another 2 minutes passed. Then, these two beefy white dudes across the bar from me were offered another round by the owner dude before they were even finished with what they had, and I still hadn't been asked if I was good! At nearly ten minutes of sitting there, I gestured my girlfriend back over, figuring since she was able to get serviced so quickly before, maybe it would work a second time. Both the bar tender and the owner were in our vicinity twice more before I finally decided to say something. In an even tone, I gestured to the owner, "Hey, may I order a drink?" He literally started screaming at me. "CANT YOU SEE THAT IM SERVING SOMEONE ELSE. YOU NEED TO WAIT. I CANT JUST SERVE YOU WHENEVER YOU WANT." Now, as a teacher, I can assure you that this was a tone more harsh than I would ever care to use with a student. Dude really flipped out on me. I sat in literal shock. I did not respond. My girlfriend's reaction was, "Let's just leave." Mine was of utter disgust. As a queer, non-binary female, I take a lot of subtle crap from people in the service industry, and maybe even more from women in restrooms at chain restaurants. This was probably the best example of targeted, unprovoked disrespect I've ever experienced. Shortly after the owner's blow up, two things happened: 1. I watched him talking to three separate groups of beefy-looking dudes, all of which would correspondingly glance over at us. I thought about that kid who got jumped by cops coming out of Nathan Bill's recently and instantly felt panic. Why? Because I had done nothing to deserve being so disrespected to begin with besides wait patiently and silently. So what would stop this from blowing up in my face if I snapped back and demanded the respect that a HUMAN deserves? and 2. The female bar tender decided to notice me (us?). She said, "Are you guys all set?" to which I replied, "We're leaving. But...So... who is that man?" She answered that it was the owner but that "he's not a bar tender so he's not serving anyone." Even as she said this, he was pulling beers from a cooler and pouring drafts. I said, "Well, he just literally screamed at me for asking if I could order." Her reply? "Yeah...So, you guys are all set then?" She didn't even wait for the reply. She just walked off. I don't want to continue trekking out to Northampton to avert being treated like a second-class citizen. But I will. Hopefully, this owner can rest assured that he accomplished his mission of making this particular couple of mixed queers feel so unwelcome, that we, and hopefully everyone in our lives who love us, will never give this place a piece of our hard-earned teacher salary again. read more

We went there on a Thursday night, the bartender took forever to serve us, was paying only paying attention to his friends, ignoring us, we played 3 songs on the jukebox, and then he played 2 albums of songs we didnt like, we lost over $20 worth of music we played which we would never be able to hear, when we complained, he shut us off and told us to leave.
