They helped educate me about the various options available for my house, explaining the pros and cons, and exploring solutions for the temperature imbalances I have in the various rooms. Their price estimates were very reasonable, with detailed breakdowns of options I can choose. I ended up having them replace my 50-year-old asbestos ductwork (with permits), and install for me a heat pump in dual-fuel configuration, so that we can have energy efficiency most of the time, but still get toasty gas heat in the winter. They never tried to upsell me, and the heat pump we chose is cost-effective and quiet, while being more than enough for my home. The work itself was carried out efficiently and respectfully, with a lot of attention to detail, and finished ahead of schedule. In addition to the 10 year equipment and 3 year labor warranty, they offered 1 year of free maintenance. After the install, they have continued to be very responsive, returning several times to help rebalance and optimize airflow between the rooms, and to troubleshoot and fix any remaining noise issues. Timo was very thorough in his analysis and solution recommendation, which included a high-efficiency, multi stage/speed gas Furnace, AC condenser unit, plus a second air intake upstairs (where there was none) and ductwork down to the furnace in the garage. While there were some unexpected complications (to all of us) along the way, the entire team was outstanding in the way they handled the challenges. My wife and I are very happy with the end result. In my opinion, Residential is just the right size of company. Small enough to provide great customer service, yet large enough to have a real business organization and leadership infrastructure that segments the important functions (sales/HVAC consultants, HVAC designers, service techs, job project coordinator/scheduler, accounting/billing, fabrication and possibly more). I also purchased at that time a five year maintenance plan such that A! would come visit my house every six months for tuneups and maintenance - which they have dutifull done ever six months for the past 5 years/ There tuneups have been extensive and comprehensive. I have recently extended that maintenance plan to 2031. The A1 team is *extremely* professional and also very knowledgeable. During their most recent maintenance visit (April 2026), the A1 team led by Sal Leyla diagnosed a small shortfall in the refrigerant levels in the two Trane units and because of me having pre-paid A1 for semi annual maintenance visits, they not only were able to quickly add refrigerant but the cost to me was very affordable. I should also note that based on the professionalism displayed by the A1 Team back in 2021, five of my neighbors also hired A1 to install air conditioning units. The unit has been working flawlessly ever since the installation but though it was time for a maintenance/checkup. I called for an appointment and was quoted $95 for a checkup... I thought that was reasonable considering it had been over 5 years since the installation. The owner, Barsin stopped by and did a thorough inspection, checked the refrigerant, condenser, inspected the main unit, filter etc. all was well which I suspected but just wanted to be sure. He even popped his head into the attic to look at some of the duct work which is the original to the house but still functioning. When he completed the inspection I asked him how he would prefer to be paid and he said "No Charge", everything is working as it should so you are go to go... I thought that was pretty swell:). Anyway, just thought I would pass along a very good HVAC service/ company in the South bay for those looking for a competitive price, quality products and great service... Even after sale service!

The Technician arrived when promised and was careful to use booties for walking on the carpet. He checked the electrical system and the coolant pressure and all was normal. Finally he found the problem -- a piece of transparent packing tape covering a switch on the indoor unit. We had used it to hold the door inside closed, and it was too wide. He re-installed the filters and tested the system. He also helped me remove some wood that was blocking good air circulation for the outdoor unit. It's a woman-owned family company that's been in business for many years locally, and you can feel the difference! And the price was reasonable.
