When you're out of nowhere and you're starving for something that you really don't want to do fast food and you're really unfamiliar with the hood.-stop here! This is not right off the freeway per se but very easy access and we were able to park our RV right up in front. The staff is friendly they offer you a drink including cold water. We just happened upon this place while driving back from Mendocino and decided to give it a shot. It was delicious! The burgers were huge and cooked perfectly. The ladies working there were super nice and friendly. I have 4 small children and many times when we go out to eat we notice looks of dread on the servers faces when we get sat in their section. The employees here didn't make us feel like that at all. They were very thoughtful and accommodating. The onion rings and French fries were some of the best I've ever had. Only downside is there's not a ton of parking. We were towing our camper and there wasn't a very good place to park so we had to go down the street on the side of the road. We just stopped by here just to grab a quick bite while we were on our way to AZ from Oregon for a funeral. It had great reviews and I'm sick of fast food. It was a beautiful warm day and we ate our food in the outside area of the bar. The food was great and the bartenders ladies were amazing. Really went above and beyond in service. This town was so friendly and other customers chatted with us while we ate. If I hadn't been nearly 9 months pregnant I could of really enjoyed having a beer and hanging for awhile. I really hate to give this place such a low rating but here's why... the PRICES are ridiculous! I'm anxious to try Bubbas Place down the street which has good reviews stating they have amazing food. Equally as important, there is a photo posted of their menu which shows they have reasonable prices. At the last stand, we had a burger which by itself was around 10 bucks and onion rings which were 4.50 for about a handful. So one full meal with a drink is going to run you around 20 bucks! I do love the fact that you could go to a bar/cafe that has outdoor seating and that is the best thing about this place. The older waitress was pretty annoyed that we put two tables together to seat 6+ people but that was the only option! Go around lady! . . . If only I had known I would never have come here! We arrived at 6:10 PM on a Saturday and the grills were OFF, but we were told they would be hot again in 10 minutes. An hour later our food finally arrived! So for an hour we sat in the hot inside with at least 50 flies all over us and our food when it finally arrived!! Additionally, when all of the food was coming out the waitress tells us she has no turkey for 2 of our 7 meals! By the time the food got there everyone was done with the heat and flies we boxed most of it and left. So...on a positive note because of the length of time the waitress brought over mozzarella sticks for everyone to much on while we waited for our food. When she brought the bill she mentioned she took several items off because of the time it took to get our food. Well, nothing was removed except the food we didn't get, but there was also a beer on there that was never ordered!! So $50 for a waste of an hour in a hot shack covered in flies. When I finally got his attention I asked him to turn on the Stanley Cup Finals on NBC. He had all 4 of the tvs showing the same baseball game. He refused. So we left. My husband had tator tots and I had curly fries. The staff was very friendly! They mentioned that this is the last place you could drive up, park and order a beer 2 feet from your car! I have only been here once, so I am no expert on this place. But I like the idea. It really is a walk up bar, with TVs and a bar to lean on, but it's just a liquor shanty in a dirt lot. The prices are of course cheap like everything else in this town compared to the bay area. The clientele here is decidedly old(er), but that might be your thing. It seems like the kind of place that would be particularly packed after a high school football game if you can imagine. Their closing time is whenever the people go home. The food here is burgers until 8 or so and then they have a fryer. I am not sure what that means really...maybe fries. But I didn't ask. I say saunter on up to this little shanty, but bring some friends because there is a pretty strong local contingent of parents and old folks. read more

Passing through and yelped this place, with 4.5 stars I'm going. Coming from the California Central Coast we are spoiled with food choices but this place I would return to. The Club sandwich was enough to fill two grown men! The grilled chicken salad was tasty, the chicken was juicy and the veggies fresh. No vinegarette or organic here but don't fret. The beers on tap helped to deal with the flies, in my opinion the one negative thing. We ate outside which was nice. My husband's one issue is it was 1 mile off the freeway The customers were all very friendly, and clearly all locals, at the outdoor bar where all the food is ordered and retrieved. Took a chance on this place for lunch on my drive back up to Seattle. I'm so glad I did! The service was prompt and friendly to an out-of-towner at what is obviously a local hangout. The patrons and staff seemed to be well acquainted and it made the atmosphere feel really friendly and welcoming. Of course, it didn't hurt that I was sitting outdoors sipping a cold beer on a balmy spring day. When my bacon cheeseburger with a side of onion rings arrived, it was everything I had hoped for! Juicy thick beef patty cooked to perfection on a nice soft bun with thick cut bacon and real cheddar melting all over. I even got a beer-carton caddy full of chilled sauces so I could flavor up my burger to my liking. And the onion rings? Beer battered, light and crisp on the outside, perfectly done on the inside. This is unacceptable for a place known for their burgers. I hope the owners can reconsider this and use fresh ground beef (and a little salt and pepper) because that makes a world of difference. So I am from southern Cali, the Los Angeles area, came out to thunderhill raceway park for a weekend drifting class. I was here on my last day, Sunday night, and after class today I went back to my motel room and fell asleep. I woke up about 10:45pm and was hungry as hell. I yelped some places and I saw The Last Stand was still open till midnight and so when I went about 11pm, they were closed. I was not happy...it would be convenient for restaurants to display their actual opening and closing times. I was really excited to try the food here and had a major craving for some mozzarella sticks.
