I was on vacation in MN, so did a walk in. Service was quick & friendly. I had a $10 coupon expiring that day and repeatedly told the front desk worker to use that, NOT my rewards points...get a follow up email...what did they do? You guessed it. They used my points. Good lord. I have the manager call me back. She did it wrong. I call back the next day. At this point I'm a bit perturbed. This isn't rocket science. After much back & forth, they finally fix it. Had the screwup not occurred, this would've been a 5 star review. Had it been fixed the first time, it would've been a 4 star review. I'm being generous saying it's 3.5 stars, and even more generous by clicking the 4 star button. I'm only doing that because I was able to get in same day with no wait. Pro tip: always check your points & passes. EWC is notorious for screwing up your points, and passes. Another location "lost" my pass and won't do anything about it. I most likely won't be renewing my membership.

Once checked in, there were magazines to read or product to browse. However, my technician was right on time with no delay. What I appreciate most was the frosted glass door to the private rooms. Once your esthetician brings you back through them, your brought to a private room that again is organized, clean and labeled. I had my wax with Kristina B. And she was amazing! Casual conversation the whole time and such professionalism. She was honest about what to expect and taught me breathing techniques, which made the experience less uncomfortable. I think I've gotten so many nose waxes at this point that I am immune to pain but I've never had any issues. The store is clean and cute, always smells good. I've never had any issues. Joe is my go-to for luxury pedicures and basic manicures. He has been my primary nail tech for many years now. He ensures that all of my visits are 5 star experiences. I don't allow anyone to cut the cuticles on my hands and I never let anyone shape my nails other than me. Joe understands that I am a fussy, demanding client and is always patient and kind to me. When I call and say my name Kim always sounds delighted that I am making an appointment. I've rarely had to wait if I've made an appointment and in fact, I'm often 5 to 10 minutes late and have to call because I get caught in meetings. I often am with my adult son. We've been getting mani/pedis together since he was a teen. Always is very LGBTQIA+ friendly and inclusive. Meticulously clean. Very welcoming of patrons of all ages and ethnicities. I've met some great neighbors and friends at Always. My son and I are black and have received inconsiderate treatment that may have been due to our race at other establishments, but Always is always happy to welcome both of us. I've met many young black professional women at Always. It's important to me that my salon is welcoming and inclusive. Although I only make appointments when Joe is available, my son is more flexible and is served by whoever is available while I'm getting my service with Joe! He says "Mom, they are all great! You can't go wrong." Always had just undergone a re-model right as Covid started. I love the new drying station for both hands and feet. It's a comfortable, affordable, neighborhood salon where they take the time to learn your name and your preferences. If I've been traveling or away for a long time, they always greet me as though I'm a someone special who they are really happy too see. I love the luxury pedicures. I can't use gel or powder products on my hands and they are always respectful of my unique needs and requests. I've tried other places in the Twin Cities. But this is where I always return.
