A great hotel that has a nice new fresh vibe to it that the other hotels do not match in bozeman. I felt the price was fair and compared to the other hotels in town this one has the best look, most of the other ones just felt like a best western standard boring hotel. PROS: -The hotel rooms are nice and modern with great toiletries. -The beds are very comfortable and the white noise machine in each room is a nice touch, not because of noise from the hotel but just to help me sleep soundly through the night. -The staff is very friendly and welcoming. - It is also right in the center of bozeman so you can walk to all the shops and restaurant/bars. - Free valet service for your car CONS: Wifi signal could use a bit of a boost. Checkout time, It was 11 I believe but I wish it would be noon. read more

The hotel says they allow dogs. When you check in, they do instruct you that no dogs are allowed on the bed. I don't like sleeping in hotel sheets so my husband and I bring a comforter and top blanket to sleep with (as well as pillows). We stayed with our two dogs and did not allow them on the bed. The next day I get a call from the Lark Bozeman that the sheets were trashed and they had to throw them away and they will be charging me. How could this be when I did not even use the sheets? I feel misled and taken advantage of. Bozeman has a lot of dog friendly hotels, so I'd instruct you to chose a different one that is actually pet friendly. Side note - I have never written a negative review on yelp but I felt compelled because this feels fraudulent. I will never stay at a Lark hotel again. read more

I had a wonderful stay at The Lark during December. The rooms are very comfortable and have wonderful accommodations. The staff is extremely helpful and they really want you to have a great experience. We received a hand written thank you note upon arrival, text messages from the front desk for easy communication, and the option to borrow or buy gear for our activities. I was lucky enough to stay at The LARK in June, following our visit to Yellowstone. This architect-owned remodeled roadside motel reminded my graphic-design friend of a student project he would have worked on. I don't think he intended it as a compliment, but the more I thought about it, the more I liked it. Student projects are full of idealism and spunk and are not hindered by short-sighted clients with overly restrictive budgets. The LARK is clearly a labor of love. We experienced super friendly service, that went way above and beyond to provide an enjoyable experience. The "Comphy" sheets are amazing, decadently soft, and they breath better than I expected from synthetic fabric. They have an excellent selection of coffee, teas, and trail mix in the lobby. There's a taco and ice-cream truck in the parking lot! The artwork on the walls of the rooms is especially fun and done by local artists. The parking lot is small, with construction taking over some of the spaces. The only parking allowed is for loading and unloading. Luckily they offer a complimentary valet. We were traveling in a wheelchair accessible van with hand controls, and they made an exception for us to stay in the parking lot. Upon check-in, guests are given a fun little notepad with the room number and wifi details handwritten on the first page, and then a dozen blank pages to use as you wish. Our daughter loved having a notepad to color and write in. This is just an example of the many small touches that make The LARK so special. If you ask at the lobby, they'll give you tokens for buy 1 get 1 free at the distillery across the street. I recommend the huckleberry vodka. We very much enjoyed our stay at The LARK, and would definitely come back again if we're ever in Bozeman. read more

This place reminds me of Portland. It's basically a redone motel for hipsters. But I do have to admit that all the little extra touches are quite cute and even cool. The bed was comfy. The teas in the lobby were fabulous. The valet is complimentary. And the staff were incredibly nice. It was also quiet. For the price, you get a bit more here than you would at the other standard, chain hotels in the area. So in sum, this is a fun and cute place to stay. And be sure to partake in some free tea in the lobby. read more

My sister and I stayed one night at the Lark in June and it cost $500. We had a room with two double beds under a dark staircase; the beds were soft and comfortable but that was about it. I even had to pay an extra $20 to park. The location is central however super noisy. The rooms were mid century modern artsy but I felt like I was staying at a youth hostel. read more

Quaint!! Modern decor hotel/motel. They offer a motel style or hotel style. We chose the hotel style- the rooms are newer. Rooms are very clean- a little small but the bathroom is awesome. Staff is very friendly and accommodating to our large truck and snowmobile hanging off the back. Perfect location and is in walking distance to anything downtown. We visit frequently to Bozeman from Georgia since our son is attending MSU. Outdoor fireplace is so cozy. Love this establishment and highly recommend. read more

Horrible experience. I typically don't post negative things but my hotel stay at The Lark was terrible and I need to vent. I understand the whole motel remodel but I just wish I would've known this from the start considering the cost. Here's how my entire night played out... #1 No elevator. There was ice and snow and nobody offering to help with my luggage. #2 Room was super small and the lighting in the room was either way too bright or not bright enough. Desk was ridiculously small and included an miniature chair similar to the one I bought for my 4y/o daughter at IKEA. #3 My room had a very loud ticking sound coming from the wall heater. The noise was so annoying it kept me up most of the night until I finally got fed up and turned the heat off around 3 AM which is not ideal for lMontana weather in late November. #4 I was awoken by a LOUD BOOM at 5:45 AM. Not sure what it was but it scared me to the point where I could not fall back asleep. Bottom line... I had a horrible night. I did not sleep well due to all of the noise both inside and outside of room. When I mention this to the front desk at check out the girl said these exact words.. "oh, I'm sorry" and that was it then asked me if I wanted my bill or printed or emailed. The total cost was almost $200 for one night. Terrible experience. I will NEVER stay here again. read more

The Lark is a cute boutique hotel in Downtown Bozeman. The rooms are on the basic side, but the accommodations are comfortable and clean. The shower and bathroom are perfect, equipped with comfy long robes too. Moreover, the staff is excellent! Amazingly friendly and helpful. The lobby is quaint, and the little outdoor fireplace is charming. Plus, Victory Tacos is onsite -- tacos and ice cream on hand. :) The only drawback is the carpet. Worst carpet ever lol. Seriously though; feels like a wiry, hairy type of velcro. Take thick socks or slippers to walk around in. The Lark is centrally located on Main St. and offers a chic twist to the area. The entire property is gorgeous - sleek Scandinavian style, cool & quirky rooms, SUPER comfortable beds, nice roomy showers... even the in-room soap, shampoo & conditioner is top-quality (only other place I've encountered that brand is in a 5 star hotel on the south bank of the Thames in London)! We got room #12 - the one with bunk beds - and the kids were over the moon with how cool they were. The staff is super friendly, competent and accommodating. We had a problem with our billing and the manager was a pleasure to work, polite, and willing to work out a solution. The location is great too - right in the middle of things on Main Street. We ate a delicious breakfast at JAM a block down the street. If you're going to be in Bozeman - this is the place to stay. read more

A while back I stayed here and I can not figure out what this hotel is trying to do or the high ratings. Let me say I did like the property and the location in the downtown area. Very nice fixtures and super clean. Also the staff was very nice and they are very heavily staffed. What I was not care for was it is way over priced, nearly $ 300.00. About twice what it should have been. No outdoor trash cans. The room was small and no microwave, no coffee maker or fridge. I liked the soaps, but my companion developed an allergic reaction. There are over 60 rooms and 15 parking spots(yes I counted). So they have valet parking. The problem being the parking is not on site and different places. I guess they were trying to give you an eclectic experience, but that may not happen in downtown Bozeman. They did a wonderful job overhauling a beat up old hotel into a pretty nice place. Can make a silk purse out of a sows ear? Only time will tell. read more

Decided to splurge and stay here on a trip through Montana. The hotel is right down town within walking distance of shops and restaurants. This place and Bozeman is a young people, hipster place. In spite of being fifty-somethings we had a great time. Try Jam for breakfast and Montana Ale Works for dinner. Great places. Hotel was clean and comfy but you do pay a big premium for location. Parking is not great so if you have a big rig it may not work. Fun place overall. read more

This place is bizarre, yet quite excellent. The rooms are utilitarian-funk with cool murals and clever functionality. There are two structures separated by the small parking lot that may hold 20 cars, but they valet park and get your car expeditiously which oddly leaves the parking lot empty, always. It's right downtown so you won't need your car at all, burgers and beer are directly across the street. Service is excellent and personable. There's a cafe associated with the west building , but it's not directly associated with the hotel, but you do get a discount there. There's always coffee in the main lobby to guzzle. My only complaint would be, since I come here for work, there's no irons & boards in the rooms and no fridges for beverage stowage. read more

Free valet parking, outstanding location walkable to countless restaurants and bars and clothing shops, free coffee in lobby or more extravagant coffee drinks on the premises for pay, and a great ice cream stand in the parking lot. Decor is minimalist European. Great bath lotions and soaps. Things you might not like: no phones in room (fine with me) no refrigerator and no coffee maker. What a cool motel! In fact it is probably too cool for an AARP card carrier to be allowed admittance, but wow! The rooms are classic hotel room size but very modern, clean and chic. I love the attention to detail. This carried over into the bright and oh so white bathroom. The subway tiles, Edison bulbs and high end soaps really make you feel like you are in the big city. The lobby is warm and welcoming. The young woman working when I checked in was so amazingly nice and clearly excited about working there. She even took the time to show me a photo book of the reno of the hotel. I, for one, am glad this once run down, derelict hotel was brought back to life as The Lark. read more

I really liked the redo of an obviously old style hotel. It is fun and fresh. You can tell they cut some corners but that's not a bad thing. The staff is great! The maid service could use a bit more education. ( we tipped as we left the room and came back to an unmade up bed. ) possibly a miscommunication? We reserved 4 rooms for the weekend of MSU's graduation. Such a clean, nice place right on Main Street! It has a groovy retro feel with the modern amenities like robes and nice shower products. Especially loved how there was a big wooden shelf to put items on. They don't go as far as including a room fridge but all in all it has a refreshing, new feel. The staff is fabulous!! My kids left some items in their room and they graciously offered to mail them to me. read more

I am so happy my boyfriend stumbled across this place on Trip Advisor. I loved our stay here - it was great being centrally located in the heart of the city, the rooms were great, very authentic and cozy - I was really looking forward to sitting at the outdoor fireplace at night, but sleep overcame us from the long day of travel. They offered us great recommendations to restaurants to eat at. They are doing construction (maybe adding on) but it didn't effect us much - I will definitely recommend this to anyone staying in the area. read more

We were supposed to be there for two nights but because our flight was delayed, we missed the first night. The hotel didn't charge us for the night we missed, and were very nice. Very cute, funky and immaculate renovated motel with lots of special touches. You can tell a lot of thought went into this place. It caters to younger people, but they were nice to us old folk too. The taco truck everyone mentions is now an ice cream truck. Here are my pros and cons: Pros * The bed is incredibly comfortable * The pillows are incredibly comfortable too * There is an absolutely wonderful, thick, real wool extra blanket * Nice little privacy screen between the bed and window which allows you to have light without people seeing you on the bed * Excellent, fast wi-fi * There is a cozy little desk area to work * Interesting graphics on the wall * The bathroom is large, beautiful, modern, light and new with plenty of shelf space beneath the sink, good lighting and a separate heating unit * The shower is great - really big with a wonderful showerhead * Unlimited supply of high quality shampoo, conditioner and body wash * Nice robes to wear * There is a fireplace on the patio outside the lobby * Maps to peruse in the lobby * Very good coffee in the lobby and a good coffee shop just across the parking lot Cons * I really did not like the lighting - the bed lamps were SO dim and the overhead light was blinding and cold * The chair at the desk was very uncomfortable and too low to work at the desk, even with pillows piled on it (this was a problem as I had to work in the room) * No refrigerator (wanted to chill our beer!) or coffee maker in the room * You can't turn the shower on without getting doused in cold water * The slider bathroom door wouldn't close all the way so we were lacking in bathroom privacy * Maid service was mostly good but failed to empty the trash can and picked up a dirty towel off the floor and hung it back up * No parking - you have to ask them to move your car and retrieve it when you need it back, which can be annoying if you have to go in and out a lot * The price is high, but I guess that's par for the course in the summer in Bozeman read more
