Great location right in downtown Bozeman, making it easy to walk to shops, restaurants, and bars. The hotel itself is clean and well-kept, with solid restaurant and bar options on-site. The staff was accommodating and allowed an early check-in, which was much appreciated. Rooms are comfortable and nicely appointed. One downside: Sky Shed was closed for a private event during our stay, which was disappointing if you're hoping to enjoy the rooftop. Also, the in-room lighting is terrible--easily the worst I've experienced in a hotel. If you're someone who does makeup or needs good lighting, bring a lighted mirror. Overall, a nice stay with great vibes and comfort, just a few practical misses. read more

I'm pretty loyal to my normal hotel brands but we decided to stay at the Kimpton Armory Hotel Bozeman because we got a good offer through my credit card. To be quite honest, I don't think I'd stay here again when in Bozeman, depending on the circumstances. The hotel is nicely situated near Main Street and is an easy walk to many of the shoppes and restaurants in the area. Checking in was fairly easy and the person working the desk was extremely informative and friendly. The lobby was decorated nicely, with plenty of seating. It was strange that there were just stairs up to the front door, the accessible entrance was all the way around the building. We checked out other areas by the lobby. You can walk up to the balcony of the theatre and take a look at it from there. It was being decorated for Nutcracker brunch so it was super cute when we saw it. We visited the restaurant and both the bars. We also joined the social hour a couple of times. The social hour is great and I appreciated that they did this. We went up to the pool but didn't swim. It was nicely heated so you could be in it year-round. Our room was clean and smelled nice when we entered. The bed was comfortable and clean. We were on the 8th floor so there were no people sleeping above us so it was nice and quiet after the bar closed. For some of the flaws, I booked a mountain view and would not do that if staying here again. The train horn was super loud and went on all night. The shower leaked and the water landed on the huge metal plate over the drain. It was the loudest thing ever and we ended up having to put a towel in the shower to dampen the sound in order for us to sleep. Also, the fire alarm had a really erratic light that made no sense and sometimes lit the whole room up in an eerie green light. These flaws were fairly manageable. The worst thing (and the reason I might not stay in this hotel again) was late check out. They do it "first come, first serve" here, meaning you have to call around 7am to try to get a late check out, which is just given to you, no question about WHEN you need to check out. We decided to just hang out at the airport for the rest of our time because our late check out was just one hour. They also don't preemptively re-key your card, you have to wait until you can't get into your room anymore. read more

The Kimpton Armory is absolutely not a 5 star hotel, no matter what they claim. Calling themselves 5 stars is laughable when compared to a real 5 star property like the Four Seasons -- they don't even come close. They advertise being pet friendly, but there isn't a single patch of grass near the hotel. I had to walk halfway around the block just to find a spot for my dogs, which is ridiculous and incredibly inconvenient. Yes, they dropped off some bowls in the room, but that doesn't make up for the complete lack of thought for guests traveling with pets. The room itself was not worth the expensive price I paid. The rug had stains, the bathroom walls had marks and damage, the shower head had nasty stuff caked on it, and the sheets had holes in them. For a hotel that calls itself 5 stars, it's nowhere close. The overall condition was far from luxury. The front desk staff was less than friendly, and as an IHG member I was especially frustrated to be told I had to wake up at 7 am just to see if late checkout might be available -- even though that's supposed to be a standard benefit. Completely unacceptable. The only decent part of this stay was the bed, which was comfortable. Beyond that, this hotel is nowhere near worth the cost or the 5 star label they slap on it. The hotel is definitely upscale, but absolutely worth the extra expense. The staff was warm and welcoming the moment we arrived, and our room was spotless, beautifully designed, and incredibly comfortable. A major highlight was the rooftop pool -- heated to 100° in the winter and offering a stunning view of the Bridger Mountain Range. Truly a unique and relaxing experience. We also visited Sky Shed, the restaurant on the top floor, and it was fantastic. The space offers incredible 180° views of Bozeman, making it the perfect place to unwind with great food and drinks. It was closed on our first day due to the extreme temperatures for safety reasons, but the next day, with temps hovering around 10°F, we hopped in--and it felt like a luxurious, steamy bathtub with a mountain view. If you can, book a corner room that ends in 17--the shower alone is worth it. Years ago, my husband and I had our ceremony and reception at the Kimpton Armory in Bozeman. We were both excited to have our wedding party at a great venue. That all fell short once we signed the contract... The wedding coordinator, Dana, really dropped the ball. She was inexperienced, lacked communication, and unprofessional. She was only available once a week, If anytime at all as it was difficult to remain in contact with her. If you are a wedding/event coordinator you would think that your priorities lie with your clients. We had also provided her with our menu selections weeks in advance, and yet days before our wedding the menu selections went "missing" and we had to once again confirmation what we had selected. Who does that to clients a day before their wedding? While DANA was unavailable at times, the real issue with Kimpton was the accounting department. Let's just say, they are inept. My spouse and I had set up a payment plan with the accounting department; great, wonderful. However, when it came time to collect on payments, the accounting became suspiciously unavailable. We went weeks without hearing back about our set up payments, to the point that the KIMPTON claimed we had breached our contract, when in fact it was the opposite. We tried numerous times to call and give our CC info over the phone. I eventually I reached out to Mary, who was the accounting manager; To say unpleasant is an understatement. Mary was rude, inconsiderate, and honestly a passive aggressive troll; not a great experience. Even though the Kimpton was at fault for breaching the contract we had signed, she would argue and contend that my spouse and I were in the wrong. The matter of money was not the issue, it's the fact that she refused to acknowledge her department had made a mistake. In the end she sent me and my partner to collections, for payments HER department failed to collect. They also ran my credit card without authorization and double charged guests for our room block. Utter crap. Complete utter crap. No accountability from the accounting department or management. And forget dealing with upper management, they are a total joke, especially the hotel manager. Moral of the story, don't plan your event or wedding at this hotel. Period. read more

Check in was a breeze. Nice entry and lobby. The 9th floor bar is great minus the service. They are not organized. You can't walk to the bar and order if you're at a table yet the servers don't come by. Seemed they preferred to huddle and chat and when we asked repeatedly for a server no once seemed to know who's was covering our table. The cocktails were great. We didn't eat there as we had dinner reservations elsewhere. But a nice meeting space. Had breakfast in the lobby restaurant. Food was super fresh and the staff were very pleasant. Just had a 2 night stay. The first night we could not sleep because the shower was dripping with a loud pinging sound. Asked for a new room and the front desk grudgingly acceded. For over $600 per night found the rooms to be mediocre at best. They were small, dingy and in need of a total overhaul. Upon check out a $35 resort fee was added for each night. When we asked what that was for we were told the amenities. Believe me there were no amenities. Just a money grab. We have stayed at many Kimpton properties but the Kimpton Armory is definitely one of the nicest properties in terms of cleanliness, staff friendliness and modern decor. We loved our room! Right in downtown Bozeman, you can easily walk to numerous restaurants and shops. Our room included a separate spacious seating area with a coffee table, TV and large windows. No closet but plenty of room for luggage and to hang clothing on available hooks throughout the room and restroom. An iPad runs the room controls and check out. We didn't use the pool or dine at the main restaurant, but we ate at the Sky Bar and enjoyed the beautiful Montana views. There is no onsite parking except for valet. The only other option is to overnight street park if you can find it. Not knowing about the safety of overnight street parking, we elected to pay to valet park. Great hotel just off the Bozeman main street. There is a parking lot around the corner and we parked our rental car a block down in a parking garage. We normally stay at Marriott hotels and this was a great first experience at an IHG hotel. There is a little happy hour that I believe is daily. They had local beers to sample! Our room was on the 5th floor and it was well stocked. There were candies and snacks to purchase as well as a tray of drinks. I thought it was a nice touch to have an umbrella in the closet as well as a steamer and yoga mat. I've never seen either in a hotel room. The bathroom was spacious and I really enjoyed the wooden pegs to hang the bath towels on. Often, I find that there is only 1 bathroom towel hook or only a towel bar on the shower door. There was plenty of room to hang towels without them slipping off. There is a bright light that stays on all night emitting from the thermostat but otherwise, there were no complaints about the room. We ate at Fieldings for dinner on our first night and it was a solid hotel restaurant. The rooftop bar looked very nice as well! There was a wind advisory during our stay so we did not get to enjoy the pool. The Front Desk and Valet staff greeted us whenever we were coming and going and always helped to open the door for us. Overall, this is a great hotel and I would recommend anyone coming to Bozeman to stay here. read more

We stayed here last month for parents weekend. The prices were sky high all over town due to the busy weekend. The rooftop bar was fun but the restaurant on the main level was completely overpriced and a disappointment. One unfortunate thing that happened was one morning the boiler went down and we had no water for several hours, they did comp 20% off the room because of this. Also, the bathroom floors are freezing cold. They should have installed heated floors in the bathroom, just saying. read more

Attentive service with periodic check-ups! I stayed there for 4 evenings and I think the attentive customer service stands out most of all. Upon a very efficient check-in, in about an hour, I get a text asking if everything okay and if I have any questions or need anything. I did have a few questions, where were promptly answered. Then the following evening, I get another text to check up on things. Almost like a concierge a text away. Anything requested; whether additional bottled water or information is taken care of right away. The hotel was a refurbished armory about 1-1/2 years ago (hence the name), but everything is modern looking. I did not get a chance to go to the rooftop bar and pool, nor the in-hotel restaurant during my stay. Room comes with a well stocked mini and snack bar and also a nice assortment of other adult beverages. Other things in the room is Kuerig coffee maker, safe, umbrella, bathrobes and some of the other normal stuff. The only thing that interestingly was missing was an ironing board and iron (for the business travelers). There is a complimentary happy hour with some wine and local beers between 500 - 600 PM, so a nice way to end the day, hang out with people you are traveling with. REALLY generous wine pours and after an hour, a lot of people have a warm and fuzzy feeling, and it's around the time to start making dinner plans! So I would say give this place a try. I definitely will keep it in mind if I'm in Bozeman again! read more

Total Catfish. The pool is an oversized bathtub. The elevators went down twice during our stay. The AC is temperamental. The bath towels are super old and fraying. Speaking of bath towels, they only provide three, which is awkward when there's a party of two and you both want a clean towel for the day and morning. The duet duvet cover was strange. The cover was all open, not securing the duvet, so the unwashed duvet is basically on you. If you need to talk to the front desk... Good luck because you'll get their voicemail. Very rare when a human answers. The only positive thing I can say is the shower is very good. Strong water pressure and the shower head was high up. read more

A near-perfect hotel stay! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the friendly and beautifully-appointed Kimpton Armory in the heart of downtown Bozeman. Our suite on the fifth floor was spacious, thoughtfully furnished with comfortable modern furniture, and quiet. Everything was perfect. The bathroom is large with lots of floor and counter space. Their "customer service" absolutely f*cked us. We made a reservation for 2 rooms. Got a confirmation email for two rooms, then another confirmation email stating we got an additional third room. We called their customer service line to cancel the third room that we didn't need, and were told we were set for two rooms. Fast forward several months. We showed up to the hotel after driving 6 hours, and were told we only had one room. They said our original reservation was only for two rooms and we actually canceled our second, despite the multiple confirmation emails, which we showed them. Front desk was completely unhelpful and adamant that nothing could be done to help us as they had no rooms. Which is one thing, but the manager was smug, condescending, and rude and basically said it's your problem and not our fault because we just work the desk, take your room or leave it. No attempt to mediate or resolve the situation. In fact, she repeatedly blamed the customer, because "we canceled the room" despite showing her a confirmation for two rooms. Was excited to stay here too because I'm usually a big fan of Kimpton hotels but this one was an absolute whiff and I do not recommend staying here as it feels like an outlier to their usual service quality. Their service is normally standout but that was not the case here. We cancelled our one room, which as a party of 6 was useless, and went elsewhere. It's no Cottonwood, plenty of other nice hotels in Bozeman. read more

I cannot recommend this hotel enough! My husband and I stayed here on the first and last night of our honeymoon and the hotel staff went above and beyond to make us feel special and welcome. The rooms were spacious and clean. We did not eat at any of the restaurants but we had a drink at the tune up bar and the rooftop. The drinks were good and it's nice that you can take drinks to the pool area if they put them in a plastic cup. The pool is the reason I booked this hotel and it was sooo worth it. We went in mid September as it was starting to get cold so it was heated more like a hot tub than a standard pool. The views from the pool are amazing. I'd definitely stay here again. read more

ABSOLUTELY THE BEST HOTEL WE'VE ever had the opportunity to experience!!!! Long review warning, but every single employee we encountered enhanced our entire TRIP. I'll start with the gentleman who greeted us, Jack. He held the door open for us and helped me personally multiple times in our 24 hour stay. Jack personally came up to our room on the 6th floor to pick up my car keys and move our car from the 2 hour parking area to the valet garage and out of the rain. Jack also was the helpful person who brought a humidifier up to our room at midnight to help our baby sleep better. Joe was the late night front desk person who found said humidifier. Daphne was the AMAZING HOSTESS who went out of her way and literally came out to the pool in pouring rain to not only ask us if there was anything we needed but continued to check on us and also bring us cocktails as we soaked in the 95 degree roof top saline pool! She also preemptively made us a dinner reservation as the roof top restaurant for when we finished up showering. We only at appetizers here as we wanted to try Fieldings on the first floor of the hotel. I called them to see if we could snag a table though it was short notice. The host (which I wish I had gotten their name) simply said, give me your name and enjoy your appetizers, I will have a table ready for you when you arrive. Not 20 minutes later we are sitting down at a great table next to the bar and our server, Shay, is bringing the bottle of wine we ordered. Shay was so sweet, and made GREAT food and wine recommendations. My husband was very tired and returned to the room before his food came and Shay took the initiative to box up his dinner and keep it warm as we asked it not be sent to the room. She checked on us frequently and made fun conversation with us, she was a great addition to our experience. The bar tender who I also wish I remembered the name of was from Arizona which is where we were visiting from and also brought great laughs and conversation to the table. Katelynn, Kate and Grace were at the front desk throughout or visit and absolutely SO kind and helpful to us. They provided our room with a sound machine for our baby, allowed us to move our check out time to 3pm instead of noon, provided complimentary wine to my friend as he needed to get some computer work done in the lobby AND gifted our daughter with a little Kimpton toy Bison that she absolutely loves! They also tended someone else's dog behind the desk so they could go enjoy the town and dinner which allowed us the privilege of playing with the dog too. We enjoyed live music post dinner in the basement bar and slept AMAZINGLY in the dream beds the rooms offer. Connor allowed us to park the next day right in front of the hotel as it was raining very hard and we didn't plan for that and had not had a raincoat for our baby or selves. It was absolutely without a doubt the greatest hotel/ hospitality experience I've ever had the privilege of encountering. I've stayed a quite a few hotel in my time as it's something I really enjoy doing, but out of 9 countries and well over 200 hotels on my radar, THE KIMPTON HOTEL IS THE BEST WITHOUT A DOUBT!!!! Thank you to all the staff who truly created the greatest vacation we have had in a moment. Traveling with a baby can be difficult and exhausting. You really provided such a solid experience. This is a terrible hotel. Very poorly run. Our room wasn't ready until 5:20pm - 2 hour and 20 mins after our guaranteed 3pm check in. And when we finally got our room neither the TV or phone were working and the bathroom was covered in long black hairs. This hotel is in a great location but clearly poorly run. read more

Let me start by saying that there is a lot to like about this hotel. Location is great, it has a charming feel to it. Our experience however was completely ruined by the fact that we specifically chose this hotel for the rooftop pool and weren't told until check in that the pool is closed indefinitely for "maintenance". They waived the $35 daily amenities fee (obviously) but this doesn't change the fact that we are traveling with kids and now had to completely change our game plan for our stay in Bozeman, not to mention spend more money than planned finding alternative things to do. The front desk woman told us they "hoped to have the work completed in a day or two"...well, please see attached pic for what appears to be a complete renovation of the pool that could have and should have been added to their website warning guests ahead of time, to allow for changing of plans. read more

We had such a nice stay here the last week in February 2024. The breakfast at Fielding's was delicious (I recommend the huckleberry smoothie + french toast). Our one-room suite on the sixth floor was extremely comfortable. The service was phenomenal & the staff was super friendly (seriously thank you SO much to Taylor, Amanda, Emma, Jean-Paul, & literally everyone). The heated rooftop pool was absolutely delightful. We took advantage of the free snow-shoe rentals for one day as well! And you cannot beat the incredibly convenient location right downtown. Easily my favorite hotel that I've stayed at anywhere in the continental US. We'll definitely be back! read more

We just had a staycation at the Kimpton Armory Hotel and the entire experience was beyond a 5 star rating. The experience started with the bell boys opening the doors as we walked up the steps and saying welcome to The Armory Hotel. The staff during checking quickly made us feel welcomed and built up our excitement to experience the property. They offered an upgrade but explained the square footage of the upgrade was less then our current room. We keep our original room 715 and when we opened the door we could see the amazing view of the M and the Bridger Mountains. When the Sky Shed opened we headed up to the roof to watch the amazing December sunset while we enjoyed cocktails and friends. Our daughters headed to the amazing swimming pool and soaked up the amazing view of the sunset on the Bridger's. Our daughters wanted sushi so we took a walk to Daves Sushi a few blocks away. As we walked out the food smelled amazing that was being served at Fielding's. The Armory Hotel is by far the nicest hotel in Bozeman and the experience and property will not disappoint you. read more

A local friend recommend my family of 5 stay at the Armory for our spontaneous, 2 night stay, for a quick day trip to Big Sky. Coming in from Southern California, we were excited to see that it reminds us of some of the modern and upscale properties we're used to back home. However, they've done a stellar job at maintaining the Montana charm and vibe. The manager Caitlyn was amazing and went above and beyond to accommodate us! There was a hiccup with connecting rooms but she quickly jumped in to resolve the issue. With the help of the front desk attendant Lexi, they made sure we felt welcome with a glass of wine and room credit! Thank you so much Caitlyn for taking customer service to the next level! Friendly and personable! What an asset to the Kimpton family! Rooms & Bathrooms: super clean & modern. My room even smelt like essential oils which I LOVED! Hand written notes and thank you texts! Sky Shed: rooftop bar has a swanky fun vibe- better for adults but I brought my 8, 9 & 14 year old kids and no one gave us the stink eye. ;) they have these awesome globes outside on the roof that you can have a pre-fix dinner for a small group of people. We had a wonderful experience here. One of the best hotels I have ever stayed at! The staff was very attentive, our room was incredible, and the heated pool and entire upstairs bar area is top notch! We went to the heated pool almost every day we were there while it was actively snowing! They had a social hour from 5-6pm serving white/red wine and beer for FREE! It was amazing! I asked the front desk if I could purchase some Advil from them and they gave me two packets and said it was complimentary. I've never experienced that before from a hotel. The whole stay was exceptional and I would highly recommend staying. We ended up parking for free around the corner in a nearby neighborhood and everything was within walking distance! read more

Absolutely fantastic! Stayed here for an annual girls weekend and had the best time. Centrally located and walking distance to great restaurants and Main Street. The rooftop pool was hot and perfect for soaking and visiting, even on a chilly day. The gym was clean with easy access. One of the best parts was an awesome team member named Katelyn (not sure if I spelled her name correctly). She was fun, entertaining, and helpful. We loved playing cribbage for hours at the long table in the lobby while drinking wine and kombucha. read more
