Amazing hotel with wonderful service, I couldn't recommend it enough. It's located right in the downtown area, so you can basically walk everywhere. The rooms are super cute and clean. They also provide you with free water and coffee in the lobby area, as well as popcorn throughout the day. They have a cute outside patio area with a fireplace for chillier nights. I had to work the day I was leaving (until 4pm because that's when I was meeting my friends to head down to Big Sky), so they were kind enough to give me a later check out and then let me work from the lobby until it was time to leave Bozeman. They even provided me with some bear spray for my hike... apparently they had extra in the back from people leaving it behind, since you can't bring it on flights. I'm glad I stayed here during my visit, and I would choose it again! read more

Wow, what a super cool modern-vintage hotel in the heart of Bozeman! We arrived after a VERY LONG drive, and we were admittedly cranky and tired. The front desk staff were AMAZING. They were friendly and welcomed us with an upgraded room and great food/drink recommendations. There is a weird and unexpected valet/parking policy but honestly, we don't care about paying to park because you have to in most major cities. Our room was fabulous, with tons of room and cool features. The bed was like a cloud! We slept so hard and enjoyed our brief stay in Bozeman - we would stay again! 10/10! read more

I had the pleasure of staying at The Lark last night. I can't complain about a single aspect of the property. The front desk staff was professional, kind and friendly. I was incredibly impressed while watching them deal with a difficult guest with some (in my opinion) ridiculous requests. They were gracious and accommodating. Very impressive. My room was impeccably clean and wonderfully appointed with lavish linens and thirsty towels. The shower was gorgeous and the body/hair products are really lovely. The valet system also works so well. The property is located in the center of Main Street so there is no need to drive anywhere. It's walking distance to clubs, restaurants, bars, shops...seriously cool place. I'm very grateful for my night there and will absolutely be back. read more

Terrible experience. Super loud rooms, walls are paper thin and can hear everything outside and in neighboring rooms. They have complimentary ear plugs in the room for this exact reason-- so if you don't like wearing ear plugs don't stay here. Also bed frames are made of wood, but are now very dated and dangerous. Corner piece was full of broken sharp wood and cut my leg in the middle of the night. Pictures attached. I do not recommend staying here unless you are getting a giant bargain rate. I have always wanted to stay at the Lark, and finally got the chance. Great location on Main Street, right across from the Baxter Hotel and awesome Bacchus Pub, and walking distance to all the restaurants, shops, bars, and coffee shops. The architecture and vibe is very cool and modern, and the rooms have a great design and layout; love the little desk area, and long shelf for suitcases and bags. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The complimentary coffee and the in the morning is a nice touch, too. Totally recommend! read more

THE LARK was AWESOME. I was unsure of a few things. As far as shampoo I really wanted to take it home. But didn't want to be charged a lot of money. I wish that would've been more clear. Not having a small microwave or mini fridge was a bit of a challenge sometimes as I'm a person that's always on the go. The noise wasn't a problem. It's a college town and if you complain about the loud cars driving by, I mean what do you expect from a hotel on a street, off of Main Street. I mean come on. The staff was AMAZING. You can text them any questions, request, or valet. All of the staff were funny and very kind. It was such a great experience. The bed was so comfy when I buy a house I'm calling you guys so I can buy the same pillows and mattress. Y'all are so awesome it's insane. Thanks for the amazing stay!!! Perfect location, clean and quiet rooms, friendly staff.

If I had to describe our stay at The LARK, I would say the rooms were quirky (in the best way), it's centrally located and the staff is all about customer service. We had an awesome trip to Bozeman because if this hotel. We will only stay here moving forward. I highly recommend The LARK! This was a great place to stay. The rooms are minimalist industrial design. No cabinets but lots of shelving. Everything was clean and the amenities were top notch. Many plugs for charging devices. Very comfortable bed. Great staff with lots of happy faces. The best feature might be its location. We also enjoyed the outdoor fire place. Our room had a safe, but no coffee maker, microwave, fridge, if you need that sort of thing. read more

Jesse and Leslie were absolutely lovely upon booking and checkin. The bed was extremely comfortable and they are so pet friendly. I would have left 5 stars but we ended up having to cancel our breakfast plans because I text asking if we could check out a few minutes later than 11 am due to being stuck up the street with a long wait to get a breakfast table - but Goldie wouldn't budge. I was favorably impressed with this property on my recent visit to Bozeman. The room I had in the "new building" was spacious and reasonably well appointed. The bed was comfortable. The ability to boil some water to make coffee or tea would have been an improvement. This hotel, like many others, is still offering only limited housekeeping. The reason for this is not clear but I suspect it is simply to save money. I believe it is time for the Lark, as well as other hotels to get back with the program of daily housekeeping. Daily housekeeping is particularly important when a guest, like me, is involved in a lot of outdoor activity. Surfaces, especially the floor, need to be cleaned daily. read more

I rarely, if ever feel compelled to publicly rate a business. In this case I would be terribly remiss if I didn't post a review for this marvelous boutique hotel. Sadly I had to go to Bozeman, Montana for my brother's funeral. From the moment that I had arrived at The Lark I was treated with deference and warmth beginning with the front desk staff. When I got into my lovely room, along with the usual local information, I found a lovely condolence card from the manager of the hotel. I had no expectations of anything personal, but seeing this card from the manager brought tears to my eyes. This is an example of what a boutique hotel is all about. In addition to a perfectly well appointed and comfortable room I was embraced by the love and warmth of a highly professional staff. If you have occasion to go to Bozeman, Montana then I heartily recommend that you stay at The Lark. It is exactly what you expect from a very special hotel. read more

My mom and I needed somewhere to stay for one night to kick off our week-long trip in Montana/Wyoming, and the Lark ended up being an absolutely perfect start... wish we had planned on being in Bozeman a night or two longer, honestly. Awesome location downtown, thoughtfully-approached minimalist design, spotlessly clean. There's a delightful coffee shop right downstairs and it's walking distance from great shops and dining. You can take a quick drive to beautiful hiking--would recommend Lava Lake. You're not going to want to hang out in the room all day because they're a little small (nothing crazy), but I like to think that's on purpose because why wouldn't you want to be outside?! Pros- The Lark is a cute, eclectic hotel. The location is on Main Steet so close to everything. The decor is trendy and the rooms are nicely decorated. The bed is comfortable, the linens are nice, the robes are super soft. The soaps and shampoos smells amazing. The girl at the front desk is super friendly and helpful. Cons- The walls are paper thin. You can hear every conversation that the people next-door have. The rooms are poorly appointed. No coffeemaker, mini fridge or microwave. The TVs are very small with basic cable only. This place is more Portland than Portland! For me, that's a huge positive. The rooms are hip, smart, and efficient. The staff is friendly and incredibly helpful. They have a freaking TACO CART in the parking lot! They have the best location of any hotel in Bozeman: right in the heart of downtown. As an aspiring dirtbag, I don't like paying more than $100 for a hotel. However, we had just climbed Devil's Tower in NE Wyoming, rappelled down in the dark, slept 3 hrs in the car, then road-tripped west to Bozeman. I felt like we deserved to indulge the urge to splurge. This is the most I have maybe ever paid for a hotel, but it was absolutely worth it. Maybe I'll come back in the winter when rates are (likely) lower. read more

High ratings equal high expectations and for me this place fell short. The staff is very friendly, the room is clean and that's where it ends. There is ample parking in the lot but you need to handover your keys so they can take your car to a different lot???? There's no refrigerator, no coffee maker and no microwave, essentially you get a TV, a bed and a bathroom. I've been traveling over 2 1/2 weeks and this is one of the most expensive places I stayed at because of high expectations. They have an outdoor fire pit that looks very inviting with a glass of your favorite drink and may be a cigar, but you can't smoke on The premises. My biggest fault is I was tired and I gave into the ease of already being here and I regret it. Motel six is probably about a quarter of the price and I think you even get a microwave and coffee maker. read more

CLEAN. That seems to be hard to find these days but this is. Tile in the shower was pristine. Glass shower enclosure was spotless, etc. Prime location on the Main St. Excellent customer service. They stoked a fire in the fireplace up front and even brought us a blanket. To be completely transparent we got a room with 2 doubles and the room was a bit tight but overall we're still very pleased with our stay. The only constructive criticism I can offer would be that there were only 2 pillows on each bed -though they made it super easy to request anything we might want/need. And the beds are very low. My MiL is in her fifties and mentioned that it was difficult to get in and out of. Hope this helps! read more

Industrial noir interior design can sometimes get outta control. Barn-door bathroom doors that don't really close revealing a door crack large enough to drive a Mac truck through does not lend itself to privacy. Wood and metal adornments make a cold and stark room. We called the light next to the bed the 'streetlight'. No java in the room , no closet with iron or extra towels, only one hard plastic chair. One chair????? The other person sits on the bed??? And a big plate glass window to view parked cars and welcome their headlights into the room in the evening. Why a large plate glass window when you will keep your blinds closed all of the time so people aren't looking at you. And get this. We came home after a long day and the room was untouched. Bed not made, wet towels still on the floor....nothing. Call front desk and they said "you must request room service at the time of checking in for your stay." I said, "No one told us this at check in! How would we have known that???" The sheet was stained on the bed when we arrived. Cars cannot be parked at the motel, they are driven by staff to a discrete location 3 blocks away. Forgot to get something in your car? Call the number and 20 min later your car is delivered only to be returned again 3 blocks away. Staff are friendly and caught in the middle. There is complimentary flavored water but they won't tell you this at check in. It is tucked around the lobby corner hidden in a little fridge if you get thirsty. A few easy improvements can make this campy little motel (not hotel) a wee bit more pleasant. read more

I cannot say enough good things about this hotel. From the minute we got there it was an amazing experience. We got there an hour before check in but they let us get our room early. Everyone was so friendly and helpful and did everything to make our experience better. We did opt for the valet service since it made everything easier and was very affordable. The room was beautiful and clean too. For a hotel in the middle of downtown it's a no brainer to stay here and I'll be coming back again for sure. read more

I've stayed here twice now, three years apart. The first time in a King room, and the second time in a Micro-Queen. Would highly recommend if you are in Bozeman. I'll start with the only cons: the shelf in the shower is quite high (almost unusable) if you are short, and there is no microwave or minifridge in the rooms. At first I was worried when we got our first floor rooms I was a little worried. This place was super clean. Like exceptionally so. The sheets were incredible. I'm buying some for my own bed! I would recommend getting an interior room but it wasn't horrible. Staff was super friendly but valet too a really long time. So if you want your car from the garage call it at least 30 min early. Overall the hotel was nice, has a fresh aesthetic, and was clean. Every member of the staff that I interacted with was pleasant and helpful. The only reason I knocked one star is the parking situation and the value. Because of the lot size you either have to park offsite or pay for valet- which consists of a staff member handing you your keys. Not a big fan, but I completely understand the space constraint. The value for me was a bit iffy as my coworker had a room just up the road at another (chain) hotel. Her room, albeit further away from downtown, was substantially larger, and as nice if not nicer, but was over $40 cheaper per night. That was with a discount I received due to business connections. All said and done, I would still recommend the Lark if you're looking for a cozy/trendy place to stay near (walking distance from) downtown. read more

We were able to book here for the extra days, really affordable and located right downtown in walking distance to a ton of restaurants and bars. The staff was incredible and so accommodating! I should almost post 2 different reviews because the room was super cute, bed was very comfy and everything was new. We enjoyed our stay and the coffee/tea in the lobby upon arrival is awesome. For these reasons I'd give it 5 stars. I'd give it 1-2 stars for the front desk and their "valet" policy. We arrived and took a parking spot and went to check in. There were plenty of spots but when I went to check in I was told that they have a $20 valet policy and everyone has to pay it. I said we didn't need valet since we had a space but they said it didn't matter and that they would be valeting my car in another lot. I don't understand why if there are spaces as a guest you are obligated to pay for valet and on top of that they move your car even if it's in a spot. So we unload and they move our car but it was too cold to walk to dinner so they had to retrieve it. When we returned from dinner there were still plenty of available spots to park so we parked and the car stayed there until we checked out the next day. I think this policy is absurd and if the hotel has spaces you should be obligated to pay to park. I understand if you indicate ahead of time that your hotel doesn't have a lot Of spots to park and upon arrival if there are no spots there is the option of valet that makes sense but to automatically valet everyone even when they are already in a space seems ridiculous. read more

Adorable little hipster hotel located smack in the middle of downtown Bozeman. The staff was very nice and the room was clean. They have coffee and tea 24 hours a day in lobby and a cute little vintage trailer outside serving up ice cream, etc. There is a woodburning fireplace with seats in front of the lobby to warm yourself during those brisk mornings and evenings in the fall. Valet parking only which was fine for me because there were plenty of shops and restaurants within walking distance. My only complaint is that the bed is s little too soft and the light on outside the patio door made me think it was morning, but it was not! BOOK IT! I just stayed here for 4 days 3 nights with some friends and our dog and let me tell you this is probably the best hotel room I've ever stayed in. I'm from out of state and this hotel is perfectly located to walk downtown to all the shops, restaurants and bars! I think anyone is crazy to have left The Lark any other reviews then 5 starts. The rooms are totally updated, clean, and trendy. Probably the cleanest hotel room I've ever stayed in. We brought our dog and we're greeted with a cute little doggie bucket that included a cute bandanna, a tennis ball, and clean up baggies. I thought it was the cutest gesture. The lobby is so cute to hangout and we especially loved sitting by the fire pit at night. Lastly the staff was SO nice and friendly. Love feeling the small business family owned vibe and it really showed. 10/10 would recommend and will definitely be staying here again if I go back to Bozeman read more
