They didn't just say it was fine--they made us feel completely at home! Here is why you absolutely must stop in if you are in the area: The Drinks: We had a blast tasting everyone's orders. My Lavender Lemonade was completely on the money--exactly what I needed on a sweltering day! The Amazing Staff: Ashlynn was an absolute doll. She was so sweet and accommodating, even at the very end of her shift. Above-and-Beyond Hospitality: The owner, Mike, is simply awesome. He came over to chat, found out we were celebrating my sister, and hooked her up with a free refill! But the magic didn't stop there. We mentioned we were having a party for my sister later, and Mike went out of his way to give us bagels and this marvelous butter-flavored cream cheese that was literally to die for! He even packed up some extra so we'd have plenty for our bagels later. I cannot wait to come back to St. Augustine just to stop by this wonderful place again. I absolutely love it here. Please make sure you add it to your itinerary (just remember they close at 3 PM!).

Reading the reviews here on Yelp!, I decided that I had to try an Aussie pie before leaving Saint Augustine. Walked over to the store at 6:30, only to find out they had sold out. Disappointing, but later that night they made my night. Walking around Saint Augustine at 9:00 PM, looking for bananas for my sick girlfriend, I peeked in their window and saw fresh bananas on their counter. The sign on the door stated they closed at 8:00 but I could see an employee behind the counter. I knocked on the window and the employee came over and cautiously opened the door. I explained that I knew they were closed for the evening but I would like to buy the bananas they had on the counter. He smiled and allowed me to buy the bananas which was really cool, considering they were already closed. Thank you for doing that, great customer service. I will he back to try the Aussie pie for lunch before I leave town and tell this story to all that will hear it. read more

This place is an absolute JOKE. I worked there for months. Couldn't even make it a year because the management is all buddy-buddy with each other and can't see past their own crap to do their job correctly. Not to mention, half of their employees are more worried about getting high in the kitchen than actually applying themselves to ANYTHING. Isn't a place you work supposed to help and support you in your endeavors? The pay is nonsense and they don't offer anything other than dental. Which, like management, is also a JOKE. Their food and drink may be delicious but it isn't because their staff doesn't work their butts off to make it that way. I honestly feel sorry for anyone who applies to work here in the future. I don't care if the Queen recommended this place for meat pies and espresso.. I'd still go to Dunkin Donuts. read more

While exploring the downtown area, I was craving coffee and came across The Kookaburra, an Australian-inspired cafe. The cafe's ambiance was warm and inviting, with a cozy atmosphere. In addition to a variety of coffee options, they also offer Aussie Pies and muffins. After chatting with server, I decided on a drip coffee, a classic black coffee. I also purchased a bag of coffee beans to enjoy at home. My drip coffee was served promptly--it was hot, fresh, and had a bold, smooth flavor. It was exactly what I needed to refresh and fuel my day. If you're looking for a great local coffee shop in St. Augustine, this is it. The coffee was legitimately one of the best I've had in a while, smooth, flavorful, and you can tell they care about what they're serving. We also grabbed a pastry, and it was fresh, soft, and paired perfectly with the coffee. What really stood out, though, was the team. Everyone was welcoming, friendly, and seemed genuinely happy to be there, which made the whole experience even better. The inside shop area is a cool, laid-back vibe, plenty of unique merchandise, and it's the kind of place you want to hang out in for a bit instead of grabbing your drink and leaving. read more

HOW in the world does anyone rank this place with 5 stars!? The coffee is undrinkable trash. First, the mochas have a strange back taste. I tried the coffee, which tasted like dirty hot water. The pies are so-so. I've been to Australia and their "Aussie Pies" don't taste like any Aussie Pies I had in Sydney, or any where else in Australia.
