My complaint is not about the coffee of the employees in Nocatee -- I sent 3 emails to the manager and 1 email to general business address inquiring about my granddaughter 'selling' and displaying her art work in the store (art for sale already exists in Nocatee). I received no response, nothing. A simple sorry or no would have sufficed. All I can do in response is to return to Starbucks and not give Kookaburra my business. I look forward to going to St. Augustine just so I can grab a coffee and brekkie pie from here! To be honest, I've only gotten the Honey Badger (three times now - it's so good I can't talk myself in to trying something else yet) which is a latte with honey, cinnamon, and vanilla. I get it hot, but of course can get them iced as well. They also have ginger beer and some other specialty bottled drinks there which is nice. Now, on to these little delicious breakfast pies. I told myself after going there the second time and seeing someone with it (I had already eaten or else would have gotten one then), that the next time I was there I would try, and MMMPH did it not disappoint. They sell out of these pretty quickly in the morning so by time I got there, there was only two to choose from. Ended up with the Jackaroo (sausage, sweet potato, spinach, egg, and pepperjack) and it was fantastic! Parking isn't super fun, but nothing around that area is. It's pretty much all paid parking (streets or lot) unless you can get lucky enough to find something not directly in the downtown St. Aug area. read more

My wife and I love the "Hot Aussie" its the perfect amount of sweetness, usually coffee shop specialty latte style drinks are sugarsicles...this drink was perfect not to sweet and very delicious. We must have ordered like 10 of them when we were in St. Augustine for a long weekend. read more

I stopped here on my first day of my St Augustine trip looking for some good iced coffee and I received so much more. The Honey Badger latte was delicious and I also tried a breakfast pie with their salsa and it was incredible. So much so that I returned every day of my trip for it. I also sampled their vegan banana bread and the "Hot Aussie" latte both of which were also amazing. The friendly and attentive baristas made the experience that much more memorable. The place is cute and inviting with indoor and outdoor seating and many fresh pastries to choose from. I will 100% be returning on my next visit to St Augustine. read more

So I'm not a "coffee drinker" and only drink a couple sips on occasion, and I had the opportunity to try my boyfriend's iced latte. The couple sips of their lavender latte blew my socks off! You can really taste the lavender, without it being heavy. I got an iced happy tea, so light and not as fruity as I thought, but just hit the spot. Love that you have the option to add honey or another sweetener if you'd like. Would highly recommend, and I think everyone should try this Aussie American coffee shop. read more

CUSTOMER SERVICE: the cashier/staff was very down to earth and helpful as to what is good in their menu, which I really appreciate. From observation, the staff knows about coffee and they're not there just to work, so you're coffee should be made really well. We asked about why the place is mainly serving Aussie food, and we come to find the owner is from Australia. They make their coffee different there and the owner wanted to bring it to the USA. I thought that was neat. FOOD: We ordered the Honey Badger and Aussie Iced Coffee. The Aussie Iced coffee was alright to me. Not as strong as I would like it to be, so it's not the best that I've had. Although the Honey Badger was very good. Taste was strong and at the same time sweet. This is a MUST when coming to St. Augustine. I'm a native Floridian and when I venture north, the Kookaburra is always on my mind. I opted this time for a vegan pumpkin donut and it did not disappoint. My husband and I also got our usuals, the honey badger and the coconut mocha. They've started carrying different things since we've been back and I picked up some local lavender honey. The only thing we weren't impressed with was the breakfast pie, but that doesn't deter me. We usually get the Thai chili and it's always excellent. Definitely hasn't wavered in excellence over the past couple of years we've been coming back! read more

A cute little cafe in a very pretty area. The meat pie was fantastic; the green goddess drink was... not my favourite. And also it's not green. As far as working, there is indoor seating for one group of six, one group of two by the window, and two groups of three. There is additional outdoor seating for two more groups of two. There is only one three-prong power outlet, and possibly space for one additional two-prong charger by the window, though it's on the back of an extension cord so I'm not sure if they'd rather you not use it. You need to get a key for the bathroom, which might be a pain if you're planning to stay for a longer time. Prices were good in my opinion. read more

Kookaburra is a bird, by the way. This isn't a huge shop (no bathroom) but I still ended up staying here for over an hour studying for a test. For a quick lunch I ordered their cold latte and a ground sirloin meat pie for about $9. If you're a fan of crusts, which I am, you'll enjoy the meat pies. I'm not sure what time they make them but mine was still crispy around the edges and the filling was piping hot. I love how they offer you a little container of sriracha but I still felt like the meat filling needed a little bit more salt. The latte was fine but I think I'll try one of their hot drinks next time. The three girls working here were super helpful and friendly and definitely made this place a little more special. I am a huge coffee fan and really enjoy to taste of coffee unlike some people I know who enjoy splash of coffee with their cream and sugar. Conveniently located on one of the main streets of Saint Augustine, close to the Bridge of Lions and at a central location if your going to be walking on St George Street or looking at Christmas Lights (if your here in the month of December) One thing that sets Kookaburra apart from other Coffee spots, cafes, etc. Is that they have a Hot Chocolate Bar full of delicious toppings, including marshmallows, M&Ms, whipped cream and sprinkles (just to name a few) I think this is such a clever idea and great for the little ones! The most recent time I visited I had the Caramel Latte and my compadre had the Salted Caramel Latte. They were both perfect, sweet Caramel blended with milk and wonderful roast of coffee. I was pleasantly satisfied with both flavors. Absolutely yummy! The staff are such a PLEASURE to be around! They are warm and welcoming, very personable and you are treated as if you're the only customer in the establishment. As others have mentioned, take advantage of the rewards card which they have in front of the computer where you check out. With each purchase you make your card is stamped and after 7 drinks your 8th drink is FREE. Ok. Five stars for a hole-in-the-wall coffeeshop the size of a living room? Yep. The Kookaburra houses Jacksonville's own Bold Bean Roasters. These guys are legends in the Florida coffee scene and the experience is elevated here at the Australian inspired shop. An "Aussie Iced Coffee" consists of vanilla flavoring and cream. If you know me at all, you're well aware I stick with black coffee. When traveling, I tend to expand my horizons. I'm really glad I did. Expertly crafted and perfectly sweet beverage for a hot Florida day. The assumed owner (going by the accent) is the star of the show. She's bright, friendly and knows what the hell she's doing. The remainder of the staff follow her lead. They offered us suggestions on where to dine for dinner. Next time I'm back, and I will be back, I'm going to tackle one of those divine looking Aussie Pies. As far as coffeeshops go, the Kookaburra ranks in a class of its own. read more

Stay clear of the breakfast pies (vejjo and rashers bacon and egg) left a lot to be desired. Perhaps I'm not the most qualified coffee drinker to pass judgment on a coffee shop. I don't drink any of the lattes, cappuccinos, or specialty coffees. I drink mine straight up and black. But, that allows me to compare pure unadulterated coffee from different places. So I can't ever speak to the talents of any particular barista. And the coffee here was really good. Above average for sure. But the staff here was fabulous and provided great service. Not just to us but I watched their interaction with other patrons as we sat and enjoyed our regular coffees and they were awesome with suggestions, recommended substitutions, etc. Very friendly and proficient. I tried one of their Aussie pies (true blue) but found it dry, boring, and rather tasteless. But for coffee? I say this is a winner!! read more
