I love Hruska's Kolaches. They are great for quick meals, catering for big groups, priced fairly, and are even more delicious and comforting when warmed up. I'm a simple girl, so my top choices are the bacon, egg and cheese and the sausage, egg, and cheeese. However, they have a wide variety of options, even vegetarian. Service was fast and friendly. It's not a big shop, so the staff makes sure you're in and out as soon as they can. I'll be back!
My work brought in kolaches from here, and they were amazing. There Togo packing is really sturdy so they traveled well. I tried a bacon, egg, and cheese as well as a raspberry and cream and omg YUM!!!! The savory one was cooked perfectly and the perfect portion size. The sweet one had the perfect ratio of dough to cream to jelly. Super yummy. Highly recommend checking this place out!!
This place is a GEM! I thought I wrote a review but I guess not. I've come here a few times and it never disappoints. Hruskas Kolaches reminds me of Peruskis that my mom used to make. Sweetened dough packed with different fillings: from eggs and cheese, bacon and sausage, chorizo, sausage gravy, Mexican omelette, Texas bbq. They also have sweat kolaches - cinnamon, strawberry and cream, peaches n cream and the list goes on. Perfect for breakfast. The staff is ALWAYS super nice. They don't have chairs to eat, it's all takeout - great for on the go or to take back home. One of my favorite places in Utah.
This place is a must visit! Their kolaches are soft, pillowy pastries filled with cream cheese and jam, sweet, rich, and absolutely irresistible. They also have savory options like bacon, egg, and cheese, which are tasty too, but I personally can't get enough of the sweet ones. Seriously delicious, every bite feels like a little piece of heaven! They sell out fast and when sold out they close so get in early and try multiple, you won't regret it!
My wife and I were passing by this shop with our grandchildren and we decided to pop in for a snack. This is a hole-in-the-wall shop, no ambiance, with room for a large display case, the register, and space for a half a dozen customers waiting to order. The display case houses all the kolaches available at that time, but more are added continuously. Believe me when I say, ignore the ambience, you come here for the kolaches. This was our first time so I decided to order two sweet (peach and strawberry) and two savory (the Texan, and a sausage, egg and cheese). The kolaches are large, so two are more than enough for a big eater. The dough is very soft yet sturdy enough to hold the ample filling. The sweet kolache have a sweet cream cheese filling and a dab of fruit. The sausage, egg and cheese kolache was packed full and hot. The Texan had a hot link, cheese and jalapeños in it. While I am not a fan of jalapeños this was delicious. None of the greasiness normally associated with fast food, just delectable spheres of goodness. Even at the back of the line you will soon have your order taken and the same person will pack your selections and take payment. This is a great place to stop off for a quick breakfast, lunch or afternoon snack. Service was very quick and friendly. They open early and close early so if you want to guarantee the largest selection of kolaches available, you have to get there early. I found the food to be excellent and would recommend you trying them very soon.
It was delicious! I tried the egg, cheese, ham kolache and my brother had the bacon, egg, cheese kolache. We both loved it Their service is super fast, and they warm up the kolaches for you if you like. 10/10
I have been wanting to come and the day finally came. Did not disappoint! Just go try one. Anyone! Savory or sweet. I got a sausage and egg French toast Both delicious no crumb left behind! Employee was friendly and did say I made the right choice about French toast! And it was so good! No seating area just outside but for winter it's just pick up and go. They do have coffee and beverages if you want something to drink. My mil makes Piroshki and I have made them before and the dough tastes the same. So if I don't feel like making them I am coming here!

We got the sausage and gravy (my favorite!!!), sausage, egg, cheese, and jalapeño, and the bacon, egg, and cheese. For the sweet ones, we got the mixed berry and a cookie butter cream. Staff was super friendly and efficient despite the long line and small space in the store. Definitely can't wait to go back for my fix!

They have a sign above one of the cases that say to order 2. Let's just say that sign is not wrong! I only got the cinnamon one which was amazing, but I'm a huge fan of cinnamon. It wasn't overly sweet either which for a morning pastry I like. The savory ones sounded good, but I'm not an egg person and most of them seem to have eggs in them. There were four people in line ahead of me, but it moved quickly. The front area is very small. It's right on the corner of the goat. This last time I went on a Saturday and the place was packed but the line moved pretty quickly. Looks like the Texan is back to how they've been doing it in the past. Food is always great, they're always friendly, and the decor is fun. Worth checking it out. read more

Yummy! I woke up early today and didn't want to wake my roommates up cooking so I ordered several so I can share when they wake up! Just tried the sausage gravy one, delish! A couple bites of the berry and cream! Heaven! The cinnamon sugar one was a last minute throw in and holy heck I'm glad I did! I just put a pot of coffee on and plan to throughly enjoy my haul this rainy Saturday! Thank you!!!! read more

I have not been this excited about food in a while! These amazing little buttery buns of goodness are so delish!! Portable! Practical! Close to perfection!! The amount of flavor from the fresh ingredients they use wrapped up in a perfect thickness of delectable bun is truly a must try!! The staff was so friendly and eager to answer any questions! I would recommend every single thing on the menu!! Everything about this place screams "come and enjoy"!! I promise you will!! Again and again!! Oh man!! The food adventures continue-today it was my first introduction to kolaches. I wasn't sure what I was getting myself in to, but when my bestie suggested we grab a few for breakfast, I went along happily. The first thing I noticed when I entered the door was the smell. It's similar to a bakery, but also has the sensational savory smells of sausage, jalapeno, eggs and other delightful breakfasty foods. Everything is beautifully displayed in the case-when they sell out, that item is gone for the day. I hear people arrive early to ensure they get what they want. I selected the sausage and gravy kolache-partly because I dislike cheese (I know) and it was one of the few cheese-free items, and partly because I learned that it was featured on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. So it has to be good, right?! I asked my friend how to eat them, as I cautiously gathered utensils to cut into this mystery roll-looking thing. She chuckled and picked it up with both hands and took a hearty bite. "Just dig in!" she said, and so I did. No utensils needed. Eat it like a roll. It's stuffed, but not so much that it makes a mess. Which I deeply appreciated. (I'm a tidy eater.) Service was absolutely wonderful-I appreciated the staff member that assisted us-he happily answered our questions and then carefully packed up our treats-clearly labeling the bags and which item was which (since it's hard to tell until you bite into them what is what). I'm excited to welcome Hruska to town and look forward to returning and trying a few different items. read more

First time. There were several tables outside, but we ordered them to go. Opted for a sample 3 savory snd 2 sweet.. They were much larger than ones I have had in the past at a Polish Bakery in TX. I expected 2 bite buns, but these were large -- maybe 6- 8 bites. My hubby said the sweet were his favorite -- soft n buttery. I really liked the sausage n egg. I thought prices were very reasonable. Only complaint is they were warm, not hot temp. No biggie if i was headed home for a quick heat up. Not sure if that's normal. Or if we go early will we get hot buns ??? Service was friendly. Finally got to try this location, they normally close before noon when they run out of food. Odd that when I was there at 11:50am there was a line, surprised they don't stay open later and make more food ahead of time? Unless that is their thing and try to be more of a breakfast early lunch deal. My final complaint was they put the hot sauces in my sweet bag not the savory. Food is decent tasting but the hassle to get it and all to me isn't worth it. I will stick to the Utah county locations. read more
This place is amazing!! Great breakfast, worth a drive if you aren't nearby. I thought it would be like a bierock and it was totally different, so much better. Great home made bread surrounding a mound of savory filling. The bread is perfect, the filling moist. Perfect marriage of the two and more filling than expected. I could only eat one. The sweet ones are delicious. The mixed berry and cinnamon were both incredible. You don't think that the sweet filling in the middle is enough but it is just right. Staff were incredible as well. He remembered each of us that ordered and separated them into individual bags for everyone in the group. I very rarely give 5 stars, wish I could give 10. read more
So it is to have a breakfast kolache! It is a Texas dish which has made its way here to this great place we call home, Utah. This is blue collar food where they'd more than likely been up since the crack of dawn! It is just relaxing atmosphere to come in have a great conversation with the people who are working making delicious food. Come in early cause they will sell out and you wait. There's a special place in my heart (and stomach) for Hruska's Kolaches. I'm not sure what the exact translation is, but I'm convinced Kolaches means, "Little dough buns of deliciousness." If you're on the fence about giving this place a try, just try it already. You won't regret it. Fantastic flavors, high quality ingredients, baked fresh daily--Kolaches are always a good idea. read more

I really should keep this new location a secret, because I don't want everyone to buy them out, on a daily basis, before I can get there. They are finally in West Jordan! I can't explain how good these are for breakfast, lunch, or dessert. They are excellent to eat "on the go" or for bringing to the office. I suggest getting there early for a better selection. When they are sold out, they are sold out. I recommend the Texas Style, anyone with Jalapeños, peach, and strawberry. 2020 isn't that bad after all. I'm so excited they are 10 minutes from my house. I had no idea what a kolache was before visiting here but chose it based on reviews. I got the Mexican omelette and the sausage, egg and cheese. The Mexican one didn't have cheese but was surprisingly delicious. There were so many great options, I thought for sure I'd get a third (and maybe fourth) to go but I couldn't do it. They're very filling so choose wisely! The space was small with only a few spots to sit but most people seemed to be taking theirs to go so we were able to sit and enjoy. read more
Finally made it here! And it did not disappoint. Tried a sweet and savory. The savory is where it's at!( texas style) The hours listed on the door from 6:30 AM till sell out. I came about 11 on a weekday and there was still a lot to choose from. This is a takeout place only. No places to sit. I think their prices are $3.50 for savory and $2.50 Located on the east side of Redwood. It is sort of easy to miss. It is in a small strip mall with a GOAT barbershop. read more
This place is the bomb. I freaking love them! I first found them in college down in Provo and was so pumped to see one in salt lake!! It's now a family fav and a great place for after hiking! I decided to try this place out since I was in town. I had no idea what kolaches are, but upon entering the store, I could see that they're like sandwiches bunch in an enclosed bun! I tried almost one of each and honestly, it was good! My favorite was vegetarian ranchero. The person helping me was super nice. There was plenty of parking in front but the store is a bit small. So if you come during crowded hours, I can see a line forming outside. They're only open in the mornings so catch them when you're in town! I 100% would get their kolaches again. The good thing is that there are 4 stores around the area. I wish there was one near Layton/Clearfield so I wouldn't have to travel far, but that's okay because the trip is worth it! read more

What a pleasant surprise. This came up on a Yelp search and it did not disappoint. Twenty or so selections, both savory and sweet. Perfect size to grab a couple and sample. Really unique flavor combinations. Great grab and go spot if you are short on time. Hit them up! read more
