We love this place. We come to Ocean City every year and had a hard time finding a good breakfast spot. The hotels' breakfasts are almost alway horrible so we set out to find an alternative. When we stumbled upon this gem, we knew this would be our everyday breakfast place. I believe the owners are Greek and their menu reflects Mediterranean cooking. I've always found that the best diners and cafes are owned by Greeks. I'm not sure why but they definitely know how to cook. The first thing you need to order when you come here is a nice tall glass of orange juice. It's fresh squeezed per order so it doesn't have that acidic flavor that you get from store bought orange juice. It's also not ice cold because they use fresh oranges but it's so refreshing. I love their chipped beef. It's perfectly seasoned and just the right thickness. Their eggs come out just the way you order them and I was very impressed with the scrapple. My wife usually gets the bacon and cheese omelette. She said it has plenty of bacon and a good amount of cheese. The nice thing is, the cook omelettes correctly. They are fluffy and moist. I can't say enough about the service either. The ladies that wait in the tables are super friendly and quick. The incredible part of this place with great food and service is the prices are very reasonable. This is a must have breakfast in Ocean City. read more

Nice a little break place off the boardwalk. The wife and I love this pace and come by here every time we come by Ocean City. The omelets are well portioned with a variety of types they make. My wife enjoys the Gryo along with their freshly sneezed orange juice. As for me the enjoy taking there coffee every morning. They normally open early and close at 2pm and they are doing just fin with those hours as they just expanded the dinning section. Walking distance from our apartment in OC, this breakfast was the cure to the hangover our group of friends all had. Typical mom and pop breakfast joint with a Greek twist. Pancakes, waffles, french toast and omelettes were all a hit. The portions are pretty big and it's cheap! It is a small restaurant however so the wait might be awhile during peak breakfast time. This place is a gem! We were greeted by the warm and welcoming hostess. We placed a carry out and ordered coffee while we waited. Love the vintage feel. The food was delicious. Awesome breakfast! The ham and cheese omelette had a good amount of ham, it was Fluffy not flat, and the potatoes were seasoned and delicious. The creamed chipped beef was typical. Wow. As a first timer here in OC, I rely on yelp to help me make restaurant choices. This was a bad choice. The freshly squeezed orange juice was the only thing I enjoyed. We ordered the cream chipped beef to try since we have never even heard of it. It was okay but nothing special. I ordered 2 pancakes with "fresh fruit" that she even insisted was "fresh" and there is no way in hell they were fresh. the pineapple is definitely canned (pic attached) and the other fruit tasted weird and all the grapes were cracked and mushy. We drove 4 hours and left extra early, so we could have breakfast at The Kitchen. We were there last year and it was wonderful, so it was to be a highlight of our day trip to the ocean. But when we got there . . . the cupboard was bare! The place was closed! We were so disappointed. We had checked three different websites while planning the trip, and all three indicated that all was well with The Kitchen. One of them was The Kitchen's own website. What an awesome find in OCMD. We came here for breakfast on a saturday morning. The place was packed and with good reason. The service was great and the place itself was a cute diner style establishment. I had the tomato and spinach omlette, served w/ breakfast potatoes and toast. My date had 2 eggs sunny side up with the same accessories, as well as some fresh squeezed OJ. Everything was delicious! The portions were very big and neither of us could finish. I have been vacationing in DE for the past 6 years and decided to try different restaurants. Looked up The Kitchen in yelp and decided to give it a try. We waited about 25 minutes for a table on a Monday night at 6 PM. Prime time, we know. Didnt have a reservation We were seated and a server promptly took our drink order. I ordered house cab and my husband ordered a beer. Our drinks came quickly. We then placed our Order. We ordered the crab cakes. Asked server if they were made with bread crumbs. She explained they were not and we would get 2 crab cakes. Our order came within half an hour. I can say that in the years I've been visiting DE beaches I have never had crab cakes as good as The Kitchen. They came out as described and were lightly browned on the outside and delicious on the inside. Real lump crab! I will be returning here on my next vacation to DE. You have to give this place a try. This morning (around 7:30), my wife and I stopped in for breakfast hoping for a rebound from the previous morning's breakfast at a nearby place. My wife's omelette and potatoes were really good (had a few bites of each). However, this morning, I was in the mood for French toast. Speaking of French toast, I generally agree with the previous reviewer about them here, although I can't commit to saying they was the best French toast I've ever had in my life. Who knows, the next time we're in Ocean City, I can order them again to see if they'll be as good as the ones this morning. read more

They do the standard breakfast plate well, eggs, meat, toast, home fries. The home fries were tender, good texture, but somewhat bland, sauteed in vegetable oil; eggs were awesomely runny, bacon crisp, sausage meaty and juicy. The Garden Omelet was the kind with the ingredients folded into the eggs; was puffy and fluffy and golden brown. A side of scrapple had a good crispy sear on both sides. The coffee was flowing and hot, service attentive, if ditzy. Place is inexpensive, basic, good. read more

My family and I stopped in for breakfast this morning. We were not disappointed. The spinach and tomato omelet was fabulous, as was the french toast. Decent greasy spoon sort of breakfast diner. Kids enjoyed breakfast bagel sandwich, chocolate chip pancakes and Belgium waffle. Had French toast that was good but would have been 5 star if it was still hot off the griddle. Hubby had pancakes and eggs and potatoes. He said the eggs were just a tad to greasy for him but that could also be bc he had cheese eggs. Their house speciality potatoes are awesome though! Went here for breakfast while in Ocean City. It was just my husband and I. When we arrived the restaurant was packed, but we got a seat right away. This is your typical diner and they have all the food you would expect to see. I ordered French toast with eggs and bacon. My husband ordered a crab omelet. While the portion size is great, the food is only okay. I don't think this is a place we will go again (we go to Ocean City once a year) since nothing stood out to us as excellent. There were only 2 servers and since it was packed in the restaurant, they were quite busy. Despite being busy, the food all came out quickly and correctly. They had tables in and out in no time. The reason I don't think we will ever go back again is because the food was only okay. It tasted okay, but wasn't delicious. We were on vacation and ate there twice because it was soo good. We drank the freshly squeezed orange juice which literally was pure oranges. It was quite amazing. The rest of the food was perfect. They know how to cook eggs perfectly. I ordered both medium one day and then over easy another day and it was cooked to perfection both times. Also the potatoes and other meats like bacon/sausage were excellent. The prices were very good as well and very affordable. The service is also very friendly and we'll definitely come back if ever in Ocean City again. Allergy Friendly Place!! As a side note: My wife has a peanut and tree nut allergy and she safely ate there (for any people with this problem it's the only place in OC that doesn't do pecans with their pancakes that I could find). read more

They're food is really good , but they're prices are getting too high to take the family out to breakfast. We used to stay close to this place and walk for breakfast , but This year we went and wow we could have gone to a buffet for what we paid here . Not a whole lot of food on your plate either .
