Old school vibe and food is delish! Biggest coffee mugs . Jerry Garcia Memorabilia throughout . Service is quick.

If you're a Grateful Dead fan you've reached a place to find memorabilia from Jerry Garcia displayed throughout the restaurant. Next to the classic Sahara Motel built in 1964 and located in "Motel Row" , 19th Street and boardwalk/Baltimore. " Every silver lining has a touch of gray!", loved the cozy feel, and vibe . The hash browns are incredible and "Big Bills Benedict" is so good. The poached eggs were cooked perfectly on a toasted muffin . The hollandaise sauce is a creamy richness. The largest portion of hash browns that are crispy and seasoned perfectly. The coffee comes in the biggest mug ! They should call it a tankard or a stein. LOL The food comes out fast and no hidden charges. The fruit cup with yogurt was fresh and delish !

Dear goodness no. This place is perhaps just not for me. My family and I visited on a Saturday morning around 10:30am and only had to wait 15 minutes for a table. We had to wait over 25 minutes to order, and another 25 for the food to arrive. The home fries had a nice crunch but were way too oily. My Cajun shrimp omelet was surely not worth the $20 price tag. I did enjoy my English muffin and apple juice which, ya know, weren't exactly prepared by restaurant. It's a no thanks for me.

We had such a lovely breakfast at Sahara Cafe! We were seated right away and our server was very kind. My husband and I both loved what we ordered! Portions were hefty and the food was very well prepared. We loved the old school charm of the interior and will absolutely be back!

( review from the summer ) This is one of our favorite places we go for breakfast when we're on vacation. Service is always spectacular, and they make you feel comfortable. I can say, prices have gone way up since our last visit, but that's like a lot of places. My husband and I both ordered the Eggs Benedict with breakfast potatoes with coffee. It was delicious. Highly recommend.

Great spot for that quick and tasty egg dish made exactly how it's described or custom to whatever your heart desires. Ambience super classic summer beachouse grill with plenty of good smiling staff buzzing around to keep things moving quickly. Definitely recommended when in the neighborhood.

Classic diner experience just steps away from the boardwalk. We had a great time at this diner. The staff were friendly and prompt, the atmosphere was what you would expect from a small diner, and the food was exactly what we came for. I usually get the scrapple when trying a new diner... you never know what you are going to get. This isn't the best scrapple I've had, but for an area that isn't all in on scrapple, I'd say it was pretty good. Everything else was exactly what we were looking for.

Grateful Dead paraphernalia all over the place. Like the vibe. Laid back but very attentive and friendly service. Normal diner food. Cooked well and came out quick. Quick on the drink refills. Only thing that was kinda "meh" was the fruit cup. The cup is big and looks full of fruit with the strawberries, blueberries, and bananas (all quite fresh and delicious) but the melon underneath was cut bit and took up a lot of the space in the cup and wasn't the freshest. For the price, was expecting a bit more.....but still a five star experience. Will definitely stop be again for breakfast.

Home Cooked Breakfast mixed with the nostalgia of Grandmas house and rock n roll. I found this place on the last day of my OC trip. It's attached to a hotel so it's not standing out on the main road. No super long line or wait to get seated at a table. The tables and chairs were kinda tiny because the decor is circa 1970. We had to squeeze into a booth. My server Kelly was a cute girl with big a smile. The employees wear these really cool concert style t-shirts that read SAHARA. Some of the employees should wear better shorts or pants and comb their hair because they looked like they just rolled outta bed and came to work. My table was along the wall with a view of the hotel pool and the buckets where they store the dirty dishes. Yikes. I hope they move that dirty dish station soon. The menu is extensive but I kept it simple and ordered a meal from the egg section lol. None of the breakfast platters come with pancakes or waffles. You have to order that separately. There are NO SUBSTITUTIONS ALLOWED for some of the meals. They even offer cereal or oatmeal if you are a picky eater. Can someone please tell me why I have to ask these OC restaurants to season my food? I asked my server does the chef season the eggs and she pointed to the salt n pepper on the table. I asked for hot syrup and she pointed to the room temperature syrup on the table. I wasn't asking for too much so I pushed on these two demands. She brought our food out hot with no seasoning but the syrup came in a hot small dish . I added Tabasco to the eggs . The waffle was perfect, nice size and crispy edges. The best part of the meal was the shredded HASHBROWN. Imagine if CHECKERS or RALLYS made their seasoned fries into hashbrown. That's what they taste like. The bill came to 42.11 for two ppl. I would come here again and sit at a wooden table with a better view.

    Chesapeake crab benedict
    Minh-Nhat N.

I came here in a party of 8 for late brunch around 11:30am on Sunday. We waited for about 20-25 minutes for a table. I ordered the Chesapeake crab benedict and smoked salmon bagel. The Benedict comes with 2 poached eggs + crab meat on 2 English muffins with a large side of hash brown. The crab meat paired very well with this dish. Hash brown was cooked well and had a nice char. The smoked salmon bagel came with cream cheese and lettuce/tomato/onion. Both dishes were very good! I would definitely order the crab benedict again next time I'm in town. Our server was good, but the woman who brought out our food was little rude and impatient when she had to wait a few seconds for us to claim who ordered which dish since she stood at the end of the table and half of us could barely hear her. She didn't even place the dish in front of the person who ordered, but simply handed the dish to one person at the end to pass down the table.

Wanted to go to a breakfast joint in Ocean City, MD and stumbled upon this place because of its high rating. The restaurant/cafe lies within and is a part of a hotel/motel so parking is limited and looks like it could be a hassle on a Saturday. You can park at the motel lot for "1 hour" but we were able to park longer, probably because it was not busy. The restaurant is fairly small and very homey, almost like a small town diner feel. The reason for the low rating from me is because the service was not as great as expected. The waiter was not polite - giving our party one word answers and was not very welcoming at all. The food took FOREVER to come out. Close to 30 to 45 minutes for our food to come out. One person from our party just got a blueberry muffin and that came out last. And my french toast came out a little burnt after waiting all that time. Overall not a great experience. It's a shame. I like the homey feel and seems like it could've been a spot I would go every time I visit OC.

Our group came during opening weekend and it was great. It gives off a homey diner feeling. Tons of classic diner breakfast options. I ordered the western omelette with hashbrowns and wheat toast. The western omelette was good, and the hashbrowns were my favorite as they were light and very crispy. Service was great as our waitress was friendly, fast and checked on us often. They serve coffee in big mugs (which you can purchase!) with unlimited refills. Plenty of street parking. Bathrooms were clean.

We were visiting OC during off season and decided to have breakfast at Sahara Cafe. Our server was super friendly and attentive. We ordered Maureens good day sunshine and mushroom Swiss veggie omelet. The portion is huge, we couldn't finish! But wow! So good! Their coffee also hits the spot! Definitely paying a visit again when we are in town.

A delicious cup of hot strong NY Coffee!

We saw some good ratings and gave this place a shot and we weren't disappointed. We were greeted by a friendly and welcoming staff who helped us make the right selection. From blueberries, strawberries, kiwi, watermelons, apples, bananas, and others, all the fruits were fresh and perfectly ripe. The pancakes were very large and just one would have been more than enough for two people it seems but they even added berries for my son on them. The veggie hash had lots of potential. It was cooked well, however, lacked seasoning. It seemed slightly bland and I had to utilize ketchup to give it some identity. However, the quality and variety of veggies inside was great. Overall, I am giving four stars due to the fact that the prices are high, but the service and quality are worth it; especially for such a close location to the boardwalk.

Aug. 2025 | A+ Service, Legendary Breakfast…read more Customer service - 5 out of 5 Wait time - 5 out of 5 Cleanliness - 5 out of 5 Atmosphere - 5 out of 5 Food quality - 5 out of 5 So many great things to say about this place, but let's start with the standout... Customer Service: Hands down the best we experienced during our 9-day family trip to OCMD. Karri, our waitress, made us feel like family, loved her. Jeff & Mike were professional, friendly, and made a point to engage with every table. Breakfast? PHENOMENAL. Best we've had, not just this summer, but in all our years visiting OCMD. My wife and son agree. Everything was homemade and cooked to order. No frozen shortcuts. Portions were just right, flavors balanced beautifully, and nothing overly sweet. Nashville Hot Stuffed French Toast: The bourbon and caramelized apples stole the show. Chicken was a fun twist, though next time I'd get it on the side to keep the sweet and spicy separate. You can skip the chicken altogether and save $4 if you'd like. Banana Foster French Toast: Mind-blowing. The kind of dish that makes you question everything you've ever called "breakfast." Plate was licked clean. Already dreaming of it for summer 2026. Creamed Chipped Beef over Biscuits: Shared this one. Generous portion, nostalgic flavor, clearly a recipe passed down and perfected. Triple Decker: My son had the chocolate chip pancakes, huge portion, perfect texture, and he loved every bite. Only minor con: straws come unwrapped in your drink. Not a dealbreaker, but something to note. Final score: 25/25. Solid A+. Verdict: Highly recommended. We'll be back in summer 2026, no question.
