I visited a few years ago and remembered it as a great place for breakfast, so I was glad to see it still lives up to the memory. Next to the classic Sahara Motel built in 1964 and located in "Motel Row" , 19th Street and boardwalk/Baltimore. " Every silver lining has a touch of gray!", loved the cozy feel, and vibe . Dear goodness no. This place is perhaps just not for me. My family and I visited on a Saturday morning around 10:30am and only had to wait 15 minutes for a table. We had to wait over 25 minutes to order, and another 25 for the food to arrive. The home fries had a nice crunch but were way too oily. My Cajun shrimp omelet was surely not worth the $20 price tag. One block in from the beach and attached to a hotel of the same name, this cafe looks like it hasn't had an upgrade since 1970 and that's PERFECT! I love, love, LOVE a greasy spoon diner. This place seemed tailor-made for me. No frills but food to die for. I would put the cinnamon raisin french toast up there with any breakfast I've ever had. Oh and pro-tip, if you're ordering home fries, make sure you get them dirty. Service was top-notch. This is my go to breakfast every time I'm in Ocean City. No bells, no whistles, no wi-fi, just a kick-ass breakfast for a great price. Classic diner experience just steps away from the boardwalk. We had a great time at this diner. The staff were friendly and prompt, the atmosphere was what you would expect from a small diner, and the food was exactly what we came for. I usually get the scrapple when trying a new diner... you never know what you are going to get. Only thing that was kinda "meh" was the fruit cup. The cup is big and looks full of fruit with the strawberries, blueberries, and bananas (all quite fresh and delicious) but the melon underneath was cut bit and took up a lot of the space in the cup and wasn't the freshest. Home Cooked Breakfast mixed with the nostalgia of Grandmas house and rock n roll. I found this place on the last day of my OC trip. It's attached to a hotel so it's not standing out on the main road. No super long line or wait to get seated at a table. The tables and chairs were kinda tiny because the decor is circa 1970. We had to squeeze into a booth. My server Kelly was a cute girl with big a smile. The employees wear these really cool concert style t-shirts that read SAHARA. Some of the employees should wear better shorts or pants and comb their hair because they looked like they just rolled outta bed and came to work. My table was along the wall with a view of the hotel pool and the buckets where they store the dirty dishes. Yikes. I hope they move that dirty dish station soon. The menu is extensive but I kept it simple and ordered a meal from the egg section lol. None of the breakfast platters come with pancakes or waffles. You have to order that separately. There are NO SUBSTITUTIONS ALLOWED for some of the meals. They even offer cereal or oatmeal if you are a picky eater. Can someone please tell me why I have to ask these OC restaurants to season my food? I asked my server does the chef season the eggs and she pointed to the salt n pepper on the table. I asked for hot syrup and she pointed to the room temperature syrup on the table. I wasn't asking for too much so I pushed on these two demands. She brought our food out hot with no seasoning but the syrup came in a hot small dish . I added Tabasco to the eggs . The waffle was perfect, nice size and crispy edges. The best part of the meal was the shredded HASHBROWN. Imagine if CHECKERS or RALLYS made their seasoned fries into hashbrown. That's what they taste like. The bill came to 42.11 for two ppl. I came here in a party of 8 for late brunch around 11:30am on Sunday. We waited for about 20-25 minutes for a table. I ordered the Chesapeake crab benedict and smoked salmon bagel. The Benedict comes with 2 poached eggs + crab meat on 2 English muffins with a large side of hash brown. The crab meat paired very well with this dish. Hash brown was cooked well and had a nice char. The smoked salmon bagel came with cream cheese and lettuce/tomato/onion. Both dishes were very good! I would definitely order the crab benedict again next time I'm in town. Our server was good, but the woman who brought out our food was little rude and impatient when she had to wait a few seconds for us to claim who ordered which dish since she stood at the end of the table and half of us could barely hear her. Wanted to go to a breakfast joint in Ocean City, MD and stumbled upon this place because of its high rating. The restaurant/cafe lies within and is a part of a hotel/motel so parking is limited and looks like it could be a hassle on a Saturday. You can park at the motel lot for "1 hour" but we were able to park longer, probably because it was not busy. The restaurant is fairly small and very homey, almost like a small town diner feel. The reason for the low rating from me is because the service was not as great as expected. The waiter was not polite - giving our party one word answers and was not very welcoming at all. The food took FOREVER to come out. Close to 30 to 45 minutes for our food to come out. One person from our party just got a blueberry muffin and that came out last. And my french toast came out a little burnt after waiting all that time. Overall not a great experience. It's a shame. My wife got the eggs Benedict which she thought was delicious and we got the fruit bowl which came in a cool dish that resembled a wine glass. You definitely get plenty of food. We got sat right away as we were only 2 and the place was packed. Our server was nice. If you are a vegan or a vegetarian, stay away. They do not have any food From what I could see that caters to that. They also have on their menu "no substitutions". With it being a cafe, it is a bit noisy in there with everyone talking. The chairs do get a little uncomfortable as they are made of solid wood. Parking is a challenge, so if you can walk down the boardwalk to 6th street would be better. They have a sign in their window that if you park in the parking lot where the liquor store is, you will get towed. So parking is hard. read more

Loved this place so much we ate there two mornings in a row. They've been open for over 30 years and it's easy to see why. With Grateful Dead memorabilia on the walls and likewise themed tee shirts, this is the casual, friendly vibe you want at the beach. I'll talk about the food in a moment, but I need to mention the incredibly friendly staff. Every person from the host to the wait staff to the bus guys were delightful and willing to help with anything. I really got the feeling that everyone enjoys working here, a sign of pride in product and of being treated well by management. They have mostly the traditional breakfast offerings - eggs, the meats, pancakes and waffles, hash browns, grits, etc. We tried all of these and they were great. But, on our first morning there I veered of the traditional American breakfast path and tried the Gallo Pinto. A generous bed of rice and beans topped with two eggs any way you wish, I went with over easy. A fantastically different breakfast turn from Costa Rica, and I loved it. Packed with protein and flavor! Highly recommend this place. 10/10 read more

This has been my second year going to Sahara Cafe for breakfast. Overall it is a very enjoyable place to have breakfast. It is a small, quaint, old fashioned style diner located adjacent a hotel. The benches / booths are very old-fashioned. I ordered eggs, bacon, toast and hash browns, with extra bacon. The food came out fast and was very delicious. The hash browns were slightly cold but the rest of the food was good. The coffee was also excellent. And is served in large mugs. The service was very friendly and excellent in my book. Had heard good things about this diner style breakfast spot and since we were staying just across the street we decided to walk over one morning and give it a try...so glad we did! The interior is classic old-school diner with dated furniture and mismatched coffee cups (with funny sayings on each!), but the joe kept flowing and the servers were attentive and pleasant. It was very good and I highly recommend! My husband had the Big Boss Man breakfast and the pancakes were awesome! The food felt very fresh. We arrived a little before 9 am and were seated quickly.
