We arrived 50 mins before they closed and the service was never rushed! Our waitress was attentive and friendly, meeting all our needs. Everything on the menu sounds good, it was so hard to choose but I settled on the Waterman's breakfast with a crab cake, two eggs, hash browns and toast. This was a convenient breakfast since our party is staying at the Princess royale and we are able to walk over. There was a bit of a wait but it was not too long before we were seated and the waitress immediately took our drink orders. Drinks were good and so was the food. Everyone enjoyed what they ordered and we had omelets, pancakes and I ordered a crab cake benefit as usual. The only reason I will give 4 instead of 5 stars is due to the cook on our eggs. It seemed the chef had missed on a few of our egg orders. My sister ordered her eggs "over hard" and they came out over easy with super runny yolk. What a great breakfast, just steps from our lovely condo! We were in OC for the oceans calling festival 2023 and came here one morning for breakfast. I got the hungry man's griddle and it was soooooo good. The sausage gravy was delicious and just the right consistency the potatoes were crispy on the outside and nice and tender inside. Lots of great breakfast choices, I went for a good old fashioned combo. My coffee came out almost without a thought, and was kept full. The mugs are heavy and large, holding a perfect amount of coffee and keeping it toasty. The food came out in mere minutes, and was cooked to perfection. Ate here last year and my daughter kept talking about the rainbow pancakes so we had to come back. The kids rainbow pancakes is a deal. She loved how pretty they looked, how they came with sprinkles and honestly ate a lot of them. My yogurt parfait was very good and the coffee was tasty. However, I was never asked if I wanted it refilled. I had to flag the waitress down to get more coffee and to get more napkins since we spilled our orange juice all over the table. First time here this visit. Longtime establishment that was recommended by someone. They have seating inside and covered area outside that was really nice and shaded. Service was good. Breakfast pancakes were fantastic. Bacon and eggs were great too. So many menu options (but not too many), that I wanted to try everything. They have fresh squeezed orange juice that was great. The donuts, cinnamon rolls, and açaí bowls are 5 stars. The breakfast has been hot and delicious every time - I've dined here twice (inside and outside). Service has been great both times. I recommend getting here early. If you sleep in - go to the donut counter and get an iced coffee and a donut which will help you pass the time while you wait. I recommend sitting outside, if you can. The only thing keeping this from being a 5 (and I wish 4.5 was an option) is the cleanliness of the inside dining area , but it will not stop me from going back or from recommending this restaurant to friends. read more

Layton's of 92nd is like most places in Ocean City, it's fine and it does what it does pretty well and that's about it. On the plus side, it has a specific gluten-free menu and that's a step up from average. They didn't do anything wrong, service was decent, and the food was as one would expect. If I could give 3.5 stars, I would, but I can't because every is in the middle, hence 3 stars. I ordered the #7, which consists of pancakes are what I'll call normal sized, two strips of bacon, and two eggs. The strawberries were good and helped define otherwise basic pancakes. At about $13, the price is fair, not a great deal but you can have less and pay more elsewhere. The bacon was better than the eggs, which I found to be acceptable but bland for my taste. My partner found the omelette unusual in that the cook didn't mix the ingredients, just placed them in sections in it. They also gave us multiple cups of tea, coffee or water instead of just pouring it from a pot or pitcher, but that may be a Covid-19 measure. The wait staff was competent. Our waitress was generally attentive but didn't go out of her way, which is fine. We went on a Friday afternoon, so not much of a wait. As for value, it's solid. The bottomless coffee and tea are a nice touch. I don't think we overspent but we both felt the need for a little snack an hour later. To sum, it's fine. Not the cleanest place. Unless they do a Rush job cleaning. When we sat at our table there were still crumbs on the table and food under the table. I should have known then. Then the ledges near the window was not clean and the curtains were dusty. Like an inch worth of dust. Hasn't been cleaned in forever it. The ledge behind the headboard where our booth was had loose hair. They were asked to clean this before we sat down. The worst part of it all is that they bought me out my food on a dirty plate. It still had red sticky stuff on it, the waitress took it back with no problem but took forever bringing me out a new plate. Food was lukewarm at this point. Food was okay but didn't get our order right They forgot sausage for one order, cheese for another. The waitress never came back to check on us So we could tell her and it was hard to track her down without yelling across the restaurant. We saw her three times , when she bought our food and when she took the order and when she came back with the check. She was not attentive. When we looked at the receipt, things we asked for were not even put it by the waitress. I understand when it's busy but don't leave paying customers ignored. And if you can't handle it being busy do not take so many customers at once. Some of the other places visited were more busy than this and still was more attentive. They need to clean this place. Seriously. Lastly for the waiting list, they make sure sit outside in the hot Sun and wait with very little seating area to do so. A negative if you are traveling with older adults. It takes an hour to get your food after you order, after waiting 30 minutes for a table. Slowest service ever and they don't seem to care.

Nothing wrong with the food - solid diner breakfast and they managed to make turkey sausage taste well seasoned. Our orders took a bit to come out but the staff kept checking on us and refilling coffee and it was fine. Two stars removed for cleanliness. This is food service and trash shouldn't be underneath the tables or strewn on the ground near the entrance. Diners can be greasy spoons but not dirty ones. Waited 30 mins. They add a 3.5% increase to menu prices if you use a card. Apparently they can't afford to pay the credit card fee when they still put people on a 30-45 min wait. The food was very basic. Portion sizes were small. I don't need them big but they were extra small. For a 12.00 Ham and Cheese Omelet, it was about 5 by 5 on the plate.
