Meat Lovers Special Scramble
Nancy C.

Update!! 14 years since my last written review of the Kettle. Since then: My mom has passed on and yes, it is her recipe that they use for the muffins. The original owners have sold out and it's changed hands a couple of times. However, everything I said in my last review is still true except of course prices have gone up, but they're not outrageous. Truly one of the best breakfasts I've had anywhere in the country/world and I've probably eaten at 2800+ restaurants for breakfast since my initial review here 14 years ago. I still get "my usual" Blueberry Muffin and what's now called the Meatlovers Scramble (add mushrooms). The current price is $22.49 (as of 2/1/25). A full order will easily feed 2 very hungry adults.

Good food at reasonable prices. Gluten-free toast available! Scrambles are HUGE and can/should be shared. Super cute "up north" cabin/hunting shack decor. Staff is friendly and welcoming!

Such a great find for breakfast. This place is so cute and has a home feel to it. The food portions are large enough to share. Our waitress was wonderful and her suggestion of the cinnamon kettle muffin didn't disappoint, homemadeand delicious. The place isn't large so get there early. The wait time didn't seem to be to long. The food was delicious and if you pay with cash your bill is discounted 4%. I will absolutely come back when in the area.

Decided to check out this cozy breakfast spot in Enumclaw based on a friend's recommendation and I'm so so happy we did! From start to finish our meal and experience was the absolute best. Seating is self serve and since we were early we were lucky to beat the Sunday morning breakfast rush. Our waitress was sweet, friendly, attentive, and gave lots of great menu suggestions. She was the best! The food came out fast and portions were just out of this world. You'll have plenty of leftovers for the rest of the week based on how massive their food options are! My favorite item we tried was hands down the Pumpkin Spice Cheesecake Kettle Muffin. It's was a heavenly fall treat and the perfect accompaniment to a hot cup of coffee on this brisk Sunday morning. Can't wait to go back and try more breakfast items soon! Oh and lunch ones too!

Service was great, food was pretty standard. Would prefer crispier French toast as it was a bit soggy. Scrambled eggs could use some more fluffiness and tasted bland, but I added salt and pepper and it was okay. Enjoyed the muffin and fresh coffee. Great spot for locals and lots of seating.

Service is exceptional. We got Jax and she's a keeper. So kind and friendly. Something you don't see all the time. Enjoyed driving an hour for food & good service. Food was great too. I don't think I would chose that flavor of muffin again but it was ok. I'll have to try the other flavors next time.

Waiting to be seated is awkward because there are tables in that particular waiting area. You're basically standing next to a table where someone is eating. They are so busy and moving about that several plating mistakes were made around us. Service is a 'familiar friend' kind of service. Once we were seated we were checked on frequently and the coffee kept coming. The Meat Lovers Scramble is more like a ten pound plate of comfort food. I was shocked at how much food it was. I will probably get two more meals out of the leftovers. The flavor profile needs nothing added. The egg, cheese, potatoes and various meats add all the seasonings it needs, just dig in. The walls are covered with paintings and photos as well as a variety of wall hangings. This is very much a country breakfast restaurant at this time of day. The lunch menu also looks enticing.

Wow. I mean just wow. Bring your appetite when you come here!! There were 4 of us and we ordered two full meals and we all left stuffed and couldn't even eat all of it. We had.... Buckley scramble. Scrambled eggs, onions, bacon and hash browns all mixed together. It was delish. We had two sunny side eggs from our other meal that we added to the top of the scramble and it's how I'd actually order it again in the future. Try it this way. You're welcome. Strawberry French toast. This was delish....I can't have a lot of sugar but was a fantastic bite. I'd order this again. Bieber id order everything on the side because it was a little too sweet. I'd prefer to control it all but that's just me probably because I can't do sugar everything is to sweet to me. Lastly their homemade muffins. Blueberry was our favorite, then cinnamon sugar and lastly still good cherry chocolate chip. We'll be back 10/10

Okay, this restaurant is in Enumclaw. I'll just leave that statement for you to Marinate over. Food: good. What I mostly appreciate is that they served their syrup hot. This was really important to me. And the pancakes were amazing too! Some of the best, I've ever had. The scramble was good....I didn't like the cold shedded cheese on the dish. I wish it was melted. Muffin: amazing!!! Ambiance: okay Service: cool

The potato's were cold - we asked to have them on the side, they forgot about them and then served them as if they hadn't touched the oven.

We had a mixed experience during our visit but in the end it all worked out. Plenty of parking in…read moretheir private dirt and gravel lot. During our visit it was 'seat yourself' and a waitress came right over with menus and took our drink order. As it was early, we ordered coffee and water. Coffee is good and hot. Cream on table with salt, pepper, hot sauce and ketchup. Our beverages were brought over by another staff member, Paula, who told us our waitress would be right with us. Except she wasn't. After ten minutes I was worried. After 20 minutes I was getting concerned. Our waitress showed up shortly there after and we placed our order. Paula came around a few times refilling coffees, clearing tables and bringing checks. I wandered into their bakery area while waiting for our food, took photos, read the info there and then out to the historic bar area to check it out. You can order cakes and cheese cakes from their bakery as well as take a slice to-go, or enjoy a slice in house. Our waitress saw me there on her way into the kitchen and asked if I needed something. "No, just looking". OK then. We think our waitress was working both the kitchen and the dining room which is why she was often out of sight. So two staff in FOH with one of them helping BOH. That's a lot. She brought our food when ready plus a selectiin of jams for our english muffin. We asked for silverware which she promotly brought. The marionberry jam, a hybrid blackberry from Oregon, is excellent. The food is quite good. Corned beef hash is without a doubt made fresh. Big pieces of shredded beef with potatoes and lots of fresh spices. This hash has a zing to it. We both ordered the small portion of their corned beef so it came with one egg (instead of two) and we chose english muffin (instead of toast) and got half each (vs. a whole each). With a side of their potatoes, which were also good and plentiful, we had enough left overs for breakfast the next day. Which we also enjoyed. All told, we were in and out in one hour. Food was very good. We always had coffee. We thought our waitress was unfriendly, but she's just super busy. So five stars for holding down the dining rooms with two staff members and serving tasty, well prepared food. Paula processed our card payment. Forgot to check out the restrooms. I think they are in the last dining area (where a big business meeting of some company was going on at the time) behind the bar room.

They also easily accommodated a table change due the air conditioner blowing directly on me. I ordered an omelette with sausage, spinach and cheese. Comes with toast and hash browns. One of the more beautiful cheeseburgers I've seen in a while. Just a happy, crowded, community with kids running and playing around on the old golf course and family and friends enjoying the outdoor tables in the evening sun under the old growth trees. Everything you love about living in the PNW. Burgers are solid, fries are creative and crispy. Chicken sandwich has too much sauce (almost like a chili sauce, like a sweet glaze with a little kick). Chicken Caesar was good - wish I had as much chicken as the salad did with the salmon. That said, it was a terrifically fun place and I'll be back.

The outdoor seating is the real star here--relaxed, spacious, and blessed with peekaboo views of Mount Si that feel like a little reward after a long day on the trail. It's the kind of place where you can kick back, soak in the fresh air, and let your legs recover while still holding onto that mountain vibe. The food is just as satisfying--fresh, flavorful, and exactly what you want after burning some calories. Everything we tried hit the spot, and the menu has a great balance of hearty and lighter options. Pair that with genuinely friendly, welcoming service, and it's hard not to feel taken care of. All in all, South Fork is one of those rare spots that feels like part of the adventure, not just the afterthought. Perfect for refueling, relaxing, and stretching out a great day outdoors.

The meal was so filling I had no room for dessert, and I can't wait to cut into one of the baked blackberry pies later. Things I learned is try to visit when it is not tourist season, and make sure you try their little wild blackberry pie, ala mode' of course. I'd even recommend taking a whole pie home, I have not found anywhere that comes close to an old fashion country home baked tiny wild blackberry pie like my mom & several relatives & friends. This is the second year I've made a special drive out to this restaurant, just for the pie, and enjoy the drive out there, really need to leave earlier so I can enjoy more of it including dropping into the Mount Rainier park.
