I love coming here when I'm in ENUMCLAW WA. I love the Inside detail of The Kettle. They have old pot belly wood stoves and it's Always warm and cozy inside with really cool pictures on the wall and cool interior decorations. Now onto the food! The food they serve here is so good! It's like that one place you find that you can't find anywhere else. It always stands out In your mind when you're hungry. I order the chicken fried steak with gravy and fries or the breakfast burrito potato bacon and egg with gravy or the bacon cheese burger with fries , I love their soda here it just taste different. It is a wonderful place to eat! Most of their staff is friendly and helpful! They changed the potatoes, much better! Not overcooked at all. Their muffins are good, love the cinnamon in them ... but they are from a mix. My guess is Krusteas. The blueberries aren't flavorful. But that did not stop me from eating them! Majority of the dishes come with generous portions! The staff here is all very friendly and checked in on our table often enough to make sure we had all we need. If you're thinking about ordering the chicken fried steak, know that it's enough to split with another person. The dish also comes with potatoes and a side of muffin. Since we were sharing the dish, the waitress mentioned we get 2 muffins which was a nice surprise. We opted for one of each flavor that day: blueberry and cinnamon. The blueberry was my favorite! The chicken fried steak itself was good but the breading wasn't as crisp as some other chicken fried steak I've had at other places. Eggs over easy were cooked nicely. A hole in the wall deserving five stars? Yes. This is one of those special places that you will want to visit time and time again. In fact, I had breakfast there on two consecutive days on the way to a hike. Both times, the owner was the guy who served me and my date. Needless to say, service was stellar. The first time, I ordered an omelette. I can't remember which one it was, but it had lots of different veggies in it. It was very good. The potatoes that accompanied it were even better. But the highlight was the blueberry muffin that came before the meal. I don't know who makes those muffins, but they deserve a great big hug! That was pretty much the best muffin I've ever had in my life. The second time we went, I ordered one of the scrambles. It was as good as the omelette. This time, the muffin was mixed berry and was as good as the first one. On both occasions, I could not eat more than half of my meal, so I ended up giving the rest of it to some homeless folks who were hanging out nearby. I hate wasting food. It was garbage! What I ordered and received was not the description that the server gave me. I ordered an open face chili burger. What I got was garbage! It came ice cold from the kitchen. It had a very small portion of the nastiest, vinegar tasting chili and served as a sandwich. The server said that "they must have changed the way we serve it." She then told me that I could remove the top bun and make it myself. Are you serious? I touched the bun and it was ice cold. I brought this to her attention and 30 seconds later I got a decimated bun, and the it was still ice cold in the middle. It was garbage! Absolutely the worst experience I've had in Enumclaw. Server came by because someone got seated in her section and asked me if I wanted everything boxed up. I pointed to my partially eaten meal and asked her incredulously, this? What a great breakfast restaurant! After hiking The Fremont Lookout, The Kettle popped up as the only place opened that would fit a large group. The service was amazing and all of the servers were very friendly! I ordered the chicken fried steak and it came with 2 muffins since I was sharing. The muffins tasted so good and they were so fresh. The chicken fried steak was alright, I preferred it to be a bit more batter and fried. The chicken fried steak plate was big enough to feed 2 people! Best scramble ever! Seriously, you have to get the scramble here. The portions are huge, so you'll have two meals or more in one, but most importantly, the food is delicious! While in Enumclaw for a few meetings, I visited The Kettle for lunch. At this time during COVID-19, they are offering takeout. There are menus right at the front table when you walk inside and you order at the counter. I knew I wanted the scramble after reading so many glowing reviews of it, and it did not disappoint. They have a handful of different scrambles to choose from; I went with the Buckley scramble, which included bacon, potatoes, eggs and cheese and asked for no onions, which it normally includes. With the scramble, you get a side muffin, so had the blueberry muffin with. I also LOVE gravy, so ordered a side of the gravy to go with my scramble. It took only 15 minutes or so for the food to be ready. When I was gathering my bag of food to go, the owner busted out a tray of takeout cookies that they make in-house for free! Can you believe that? Amazing. A scramble, gravy, muffin and a cookie. I was happy. I took my food over to a park nearby. There's no outdoor seating around The Kettle. The scramble was awesome! It was massive as others have indicated on here, so actually made three meals of it. The bacon was good with the chunks of potato and egg throughout the whole meal, and topped off with gravy was even better! Ya gotta try it. The blueberry muffin was also good, as it was moist, including the lower half of the muffin that no one likes to eat! And who doesn't like a free cookie/dessert? While going from hotel to Mount Rainer National Park we were searching for the spot to have a breakfast and came through the Kettle. It is a small cafe with a nice and beautiful decor. We were greeted by our server and started with Hot Chocolate and Black Coffee. We also ordered Muffins as it is the speciality of the cafe. We loved the muffins and it was homemade. After muffins we ordered the breakfast which was Veggie Omlette and Scrambled Eggs. We didn't had to wait much and got our order quickly. The portions that came out were humongous and the breakfast was amazing and tasty. We loved our breakfast as it was delicious. We couldn't complete it so we took the breakfast with us. Yikes. We were looking for a new breakfast spot, and let me tell you, the Kettle ain't it. There was a moderate wait which is to be expected for a Sunday morning but the staff was extremely pleasant and we felt we were well taken care of. The food however? I've never had a bad pancake in my life. To say these pancakes were inedible is something. They almost tasted like sourdough, which we asked if they were and we were told they were not. My wife had the scramble an while it looked like a pile of trash, it was plentiful and thought it would be one of those diner foods that look gross but tastes delicious. Completely changed with the new owners. Smaller portions, which I could have lived with. The muffins are not the same. They used to have a crispier sugary topping and better something. Ham is very meh. The cheese in the omelet wasn't melted. The gravy was BAD. It improved slightly with a little salt added, but it was tasteless. The not only falls short on their food, the presentation, and handling special requests on said food orders, but their country gravy tasted like dish soap, the food didn't come out as it was ordered! The hash browns are not hash browns, they are deep fried Chunks of hard cold southern type of potato! Not pan fries, definitely NOT GRATED hash browns. Breakfast at the kettle was a far cry from being acceptable!! Mediocre service at best. This was the last time we'll EVER go to the kettle! We're done with the kettle, the lee and the drain!! It's pretty sad when we cannot get a decent breakfast here in town! We haven't been here in years! But got seated right away, and very friendly prompt service! This place never disappoints! If you're HUNGRY, then come here! Super large portions, comes with a cinnamon or blueberry muffin to start too! They're known for their "scrambles"...a mixture of meat, breakfast potatoes (not hash browns), cheese, and veggies that are GINORMOUS! They have few different ones to choose from. And they have a full and half order ($15.75/$16.75), but only a one dollar difference, so I'd get the full and share with a friend or take leftovers home. They also have hot cakes, burgers & sandwiches/lunch menu, and so much more. I wouldn't say it's the most delicious breakfast ever, but it's more about quantity/value here, I think. Delicious food and huge portions! My hubby got the French toast and I got the veggie scramble. The scramble could feed a family of 4 and still have leftovers. It's well worth it. French toast was perfect- crunchy, soft, sweet, salty! And the server Sarah was just about the best part of the breakfast. She was so accommodating and kind- highly recommend getting a table in her area. Although I get the feeling everyone there is the same way. After hearing many positive comments over the years, we tried the Kettle for the first time today. I ordered the sunrise breakfast and my wife ordered a clubhouse without tomatoes. I have always heard good things about their breakfasts. I was very disappointed. I ordered my eggs over well because I like the whites completely done. When I received my meal, the home fries were completely cold and the whites were so runny I couldn't even mix them with my potatoes to be able to eat them. I have to say the blueberry muffin was excellent. The pancakes were large, fluffy, and very enjoyable. The wait staff were friendly and offered to remake my breakfast. I declined and told them I would just like the pancakes. After a couple minutes I was asked if I was unhappy, I am not sure if it was the owner or manager. I explained the issues I had. She was very kind and said they would comp my meal she explained to us there was a new cook. I told her I apricated it and I understood about new cooks. My wife's clubhouse was less than average but she did eat half and brought the rest home. The fries were very good. We will try eating there again but will give them time to trin their cook. read more

Bad breakfast, especially for $19.50. Ordered trout and over easy eggs with whole wheat toast and hash browns. I got eggs over hard, hash browns with cubes of potatoes that were white and not crisp and burned shredded potatoes mixed in, trout that tasted a little off and cheap whole wheat toast that was toasted to dark for my liking. My husbands Denver omelette was over cooked and dry served with cheap sourdough and the cheese was not melted. Hubby eggs way over cooked, "hash browns" were more like home fries and they were mostly cold. Bacon undercooked and scrambled eggs over cooked. Incredibly disappointing! This place is under new management. We had high hopes that the recipes they purchased from the previous owner would be followed. Unfortunately this has not happened. First our food took 45 minutes to get to our table. Second, what used to be homemade delicious gravy is now some kind of instant poultry gravy that was disgusting.
