    Pretty taco salad! Yum!

Bootleggers is a local watering hole with very average food. I'd like them more if their service were better but the last three times we've visited for lunch I've had to go track down napkins and utensils. I'd truly prefer to like them more but I've tried multiple times snd I'm just terribly underwhelmed.

Service was terrible, food wasn't that great. We stopped in here after a hike near Rainier. It was New year's Day around 4:30 PM. the place was decently busy but we sat down at a table right when we walked in. It took the waitress forever to clean off the dirty table we were at (it was the only table available to seat our group of 5). Once the table was cleaned, our drinks were slow to get ordered and come out. We sat around for almost an hour before we got our food. We ordered: - Mozzarella Sticks - Bowl of Chili with onion, cheese, and cornbread - French Dip with crinkle fries - Our friends ordered other items but I did not take note of what they ordered Mozzarella sticks came out the same time as all the food. They were supposed to be an appetizer. They were overcooked and not at all gooey on the inside, just kinda blah cheese. My chili was not hot as in temperature wise. More like lukewarm. Lukewarm chili is not very good. Cody was not impressed with the French Dip either, with the 10 French Fries he got with it. Our group as a whole was unimpressed with the service and food. Would have been faster and tastier if we went a lil further to the Red Robin in Bonney Lake. Oh also, they were out of onion rings, which was the only thing I wanted on their Happy Hour menu.

We recently made the trip out to this area because we were going to Maris Farms, but we had to prefunk and get food before - so we took to Yelp and found Bootleggers! It's an interesting bar for sure. It's family friendly but I really felt like I was in just a BAR. They've got older Medalist dart boards, a stage for karaoke, and one pool table. They've also got the Touch Tunes jukebox here so that patrons can play whatever music they want either by entering money into the machine or downloading the Touch Tunes app. When they have karaoke going on here, it's LOUD. Like, don't expect to come here and have a quiet conversation. You're gonna have to yell across the table. Their dart boards are definitely old, as I mentioned above. We played a couple games on them and they've got tons of tips stuck in the board and the system hasn't been updated in YEARS. They had a pretty solid selection of beers. We started off with some Rainiers and then moved on to the seasonal Elysian Pumpkin Night Owl (a MUST try if you want to experience liquid pumpkin pie). For food, I got the Reuben Sandwich with tots and my boyfriend got a Bacon Bleu Cheese Burger. My Reuben was decent. I normally like sauerkraut but for some reason theirs tasted a little different/off so I wasn't a huge fan. Tater tots were seasoned nice and perfectly crispy. My boyfriend's burger ended up being okay, but for whatever reason the chef put a slice of cheddar on his burger AND bleu cheese and the waitress said they "forgot" not to add cheddar and if it tasted weird with the other cheese to let her know... There's not much in this area at all sooo that being said, Bootleggers is a great option to prefunk or to just have a night out if you're into the bar scene.

Not friendly, not accommodating. Do not go here. Couldn't even get to the food because the service was so bad.

Proper Patty ($11) - This burger comes with two smash patties, both of which are heavily salted and somewhat crisped up - the pictures from other people make it seem like they cook long enough to get lacy caramelized edges, but it's not quite to that point. Instead, the burgers, while not moist and fatty, aren't dried out either, and give a great beefy flavor. The burger sauce adds some tangy sweetness, and some pickles on top adds even more sweetness, but a very fresh crunch. It's otherwise pretty standard with the lettuce and tomato. A solid smashburger. (4/5) Fries ($5) - These are fried enough to give a crust on the potatoes, but not enough for the fries to be come crisp. Still, they aren't floppy, so while not entirely crisp, these are still good for eating especially since the insides are nice and fluffy. They are salted a lot, which combined with the salty dip (we went with the Bud's Sauce), equals a parched mouth after eating. I think they actually use a lime salt or something as I can detect a bit of citrus flavor. The Bud's Sauce is a nice mayochup mixture with I think a bit of smokiness from paprika and some chopped onion. It's sweet, tangy, and salty. (4/5) Overall Burger Buds serves some nice classic smashburgers! It's great for a visit while in town for a quick and easy meal.

Solid 3.5 overall…read more We like this place but I probably ordered the wrong thing on the menu - the vermicelli bowl with peanut sauce and the nuac Cham sauce. While the salmon BLT and grilled turkey sandwiches were fine, the bowl was not. The nuac Cham sauce had no fish sauce or taste and the peanut sauce did not taste like peanut sauce and was super thick. It was a bit weird with pickles at the bottom. Normally, the dish has jalapeño and the cucumbers are cut in strips v. Slices. The noodles seemed overcooked. The Portions are decent. We give the sandwiches 4 stars but the bowl is a 3 for taste. Everything else is good- service, average noise. Street parking but fairly easy to find a spot close by.

The poutine is what we started with, the fries were piping hot, the gravy was rich and delicious, and did I mention there was bacon jam in there? Since we had the poutine as an appetizer, we opted to get salads instead of the side fries for our burgers and sandwiches. I have to admit this is one of the most impressive side salads I've ever had. The greens were so fresh! On special they had their homemade clam chowder which checked all the boxes, it had a great balance of meat to potato to herb. I will be dreaming about this for the rest of my life. If you see it on special you need to get it. My group ordered the mushroom burger, the the bacon jamburger, and the French dip which we split three ways. And when I tell you we fought over keeping our own. I am not lying. The burgers were juicy, the toppings were generous and well balanced. The French dip had roast beef that just melted in your mouth. For the first time. I don't think I needed the au jus. One of my party ordered the truffle gnocchi with wild mushrooms. I don't know how, but it was somehow light, not too rich, and the gnocchi soft pillows had the perfect fluffy texture. We did have to take most of our food home because the portions were generous. And somehow the gnocchi reheated. Well. I'm going to call that a miracle. All in all, if you're anywhere near Enumclaw you need to go here. We made the trip from Puyallup because my dad could not stop raving about the poutine. Next time I'm in town. I will be back!
