    Peso baked eggs, yummy!
    Monyca W.

I've been here a few times for breakfast and it never disappoints. I love the pesto baked eggs and my husband goes for steak and eggs. They have an espresso machine so you can get a cappuccino, mocha, or latte. The place is cute and cozy inside, this morning they were playing old 80s music videos on the TV above the fireplace. The staff is friendly and warm. Don't forget to ask about the specials, they often have a few breakfast items that aren't on the menu. I keep meaning to get back here to try lunch or dinner items, but so far I can vouch for the breakfast as solid.

If you're looking for a place that feels like a true neighborhood gem, this little mom-and-pop spot absolutely delivers. Breakfast is the star here. The steak and eggs are cooked exactly how you ask, hearty without being greasy, and clearly made with quality ingredients. Portions are generous, the coffee keeps coming, and nothing feels rushed. On weekends, the homemade cinnamon rolls alone are worth getting out of bed for. Say hi to Alonso!

    Freezer aisle French toast plate

The vibes are super cute and cozy and the staff is awesome but I didn't enjoy the food and coffee at all. I ordered a vanilla latte and the French toast plate. Both items were so beautiful !! It looked so good and I couldn't wait to dig in. The latte was a deep disappointment. It was incredibly sweet, even the foam at the top was a sugar bomb so I think they put vanilla syrup in both the bottom of the cup as well as the steamed milk. I couldn't actually taste the coffee. It just tasted like a kids type vanilla milk and left a weird after taste. Then I tried the French toast and realized these are the same type of French toast I buy from the freezer section when I go snowboarding. You pop them in the microwave but have to eat them quick otherwise the steam wears off and your French toast becomes stiff. They were not fresh, made from batter and cooked on a stove top. I don't think they microwaved them long enough because the corners were rock hard and the middle was a little rubbery. I wouldn't be upset if it wasn't $12 for the French toast. I should've just went to ihop lol. But again, at least everything looked pretty and the staff was nice.

Chilaquiles with steak and green sauce.

Our friend group does Saturday morning breakfast every week--aka Breakfast Club. We usually stick to our regular spots, but this time we decided to switch it up and try something new. Enter Alina's Café. After reading reviews and checking out photos, we were intrigued--and it absolutely delivered. When we were ready to order, our server (possibly the owner) walked us through the specials: Breakfast Enchiladas with steak (red or green sauce) and Chilaquiles with steak (again, red or green). Naturally, we ordered both. Every steak was ordered at a different temperature and each one was cooked perfectly. The sauces were rich, flavorful, and genuinely delicious. Service was prompt, friendly, and attentive without feeling rushed. Even though we were completely full, we couldn't resist grabbing one of their famous brioche cinnamon rolls to go. All around, a 5/5 experience. We'll definitely be adding this spot to the Breakfast Club rotation--and definitely wondering why we didn't come sooner.

Adorable place and they really mean it when they say dog friendly. Service was great and low-key. No rush but prompt. I've never had baked eggs but it was the perfect breakfast on a rainy day. I had to be out of the house with my little guy and for an hour. So happy we tried it! I will definitely be back.

    Mocha
    Jessilyn C.

Ordered via Ubereats. I was getting my hair colored, and in didn't have breakfast yet. Never been to this place, and reviews were pretty good. Said it would take about 35 mins which no problem since it was 1030am. But I didn't get t good delivered until 1230pm. Again I don't have a problem with that since I have to wait for another hour for my color to process. What I did have a problem with is my mocha was very lukewarm, and the avocado toast had no flavor. There was pepper but no salt. I've never tasted such bland avocado toast. I guess the sweet notes cafe in Kent spoiled my tastebuds because theirs exploded with flavor. Also the mocha was a bit watered down besides not being hot. I'm siesta looking for a good place for breakfast. It's a bit far from where I live, but if their breakfast is good then I don't mind driving there to try other items on menu. So hopefully if I go in person, it'll be much better.

We have come to this spot a few times now. Every time the food and service have been great. The baked pesto eggs is what brings us back but everything else is also very tasty! Hidden gem in Des Moines.

Cute and quaint place with unique breakfast items. Good coffee and baked pesto eggs seemed like the one to try if you're new here. Their yogurt in the parfait was very nice, it's a good and healthy treat all in one. Service is good too. Very nice people! I hope they continue to do well!

We stumbled upon this gem while looking for a quick breakfast and ended up having a wonderful breakfast. The moment we walked in, we were greeted with a warm smile and seated right away. The staff here are incredibly friendly--attentive without being overbearing, and genuinely happy to be there.

A very comfortable seemingly local breakfast place. Dog friendly. My friend brought their dog. We called beforehand and the dog sat quietly under the table on a blanket. Photo of dog next time, lol. The side of scrambled egg was orders for the pup. I had already eaten so opted for the biscuit only with raspberry jam. It was such a fluffy, buttery texture perfectly balanced with the raspberry jam. The PG breakfast was ordered with scrambled eggs, potatoes, bacon and sourdough toast. Nothing spectacular but definitely a solid breakfast. They also have a few pastries such as biscuits, cinnamon rolls and some yummy looking turnover style selections. Apple and cherry I believe. The mimosas came regular style or seasonal. Guava was the seasonal flavor this round. The place was packed and jamming. Excellent vibes too. Families, couples, friends, dogs all welcome. Strange though, when we ordered the eggs, the only option for being cooked was scrambled or over hard. Sort of strange. A tiny parking lot behind the restaurant. I think they might have more offerings on the weekend. Would love to back when I'm hungrier. Enjoy your life! SYOY!

We came by after happy hour at Anthony's and listened to a live set of great music. The place was packed, but everyone is friendly and was willing to share their table with us. We had a great time and I strongly recommend coming by the Quarterdeck to chill and listen to live music. Can't believe it took me 20 years of living in Seattle to find this place. So, don't repeat my mistake.

I stopped by while visiting Seattle and while the food situation was a bit chaotic (they had rotating menus because they were out of a few items), I ended up ordering a kimchi-inspired sandwich that I wanted to love...but it just didn't do it for me. Not inedible, maybe a 2/5, but I'd definitely try something else next time. My friend ordered what I think was the Garden Harvest Wrap (a staple on the menu), and that was more of a 3/5. Both dishes were served cold (intentionally), which I think made a difference, I could totally see them being much better if they were warm. Now let's talk about what is worth it: the mimosa flight. SO good. Like dangerously easy to sit there, sip through all of them, and forget any minor food disappointments. But honestly, the real star here is the ambiance. You're right on the water with the most effortless, breezy, coastal energy. Boats drifting by, sun hitting just right, people lingering over drinks--it's giving main character energy in the best way. I found myself wanting to stay way longer than planned and even doing some work while there. This is absolutely a spot I'd come back to, just with a strategy: eat before or after, and come here to sip, sit by the water, and take a little walk on the dock. 5 stars for the vibes alone

And with the bad, I strive to be positive on the experience that was good before giving suggestions or letting the owner know what fell short. I'm never out to bash a business. Rather, as an owner, if you pride yourself in customer service, you will take what a sincere Yelp Elite reviewer has to say, step back and see how you can improve. I just read the comments another reviewer posted a few days ago and saw that they were berated as well. I had nothing to gain from giving the review I did and it's unfortunate that you're no longer going to be in business, but there were two other people with me that came to this consensus. With that, I will reply to the unfortunate remarks slammed at me, the reviewer. Let me preface by saying I asked for a pic with the owner before tea service started. If it was said that we had a wonderful and lovely time, it was not by me but one of my friends who, when asked how everything was, couldn't think of anything else to say. Also, I wasn't going to express all of this in front of the owner at the time because I had others with me. So, to rebel and ask me if my mother is still alive and did she teach me to behave like this? Well, all I can say is your reaponse as a business owner is extremely childish and unprofessional. I didn't make the food. I reviewed it and if that means it's not the best review, so be it. It pains me not to give a business owner a good review because that's not what we as Elite members strive for. That said, lashing out is not the answer. At least I have the maturity and diplomacy to put these comments in without getting into a mud fight like you chose to do. Review..... My two girlfriends and I came here for afternoon tea. Since I'm the Yelp reviewer, I asked them for their input and so it was a consensus of the three of us. Here's what went right. It was nice to have a carafe of water at our table, there were beautiful flowers and dyed water to match in the vase, the teacups and saucers were very pretty, the owner was extremely nice. Here's what we thought needed a second look. The sign in the store advertised cheese and fruit for the afternoon tea but it didn't appear. When we asked we were told it didn't come with it but we could get some if we wanted. Please revise the sign as people do notice. Suggest you have a selection of three sandwiches rather than two of each. One was a small croissant filled with egg salad and if we hadn't been told that we thought it might be chicken. The other was a cucumber sandwich which although it's nice to have thin slices of cucumber, these were razor thin. Sort of disappointing that there was so little on a beautiful piece of bread. They scones were nothing special. Perhaps have something inside whether it be cranberry, currant etc. The sweets consisted of a Mexican wedding cake which was rather dry and was there a detection of almond extract? The orange macaron, as beautiful as it was, lacked flavor of orange. I was expecting a nice burst of something but it just wasn't there. The fondant on the petit four was much too thick, and sweet. Whatever fashion the raspberry is used, keep a bit of that tart flavor to offset the sweetness from the fondant. The effort was there, things just felt short.

Charcoal Grilled Pork Chop: coconut-ginger braised collard greens, grilled spring onion, pork jus, wasabi butter (4/5). The Double cut portion was cooked to medium. It was tender, juicy, and the juices had a sweetness to it. The wasabi butter was good and not overpowering. I'd order this again. Superfood Salad: white bean hummus, quinoa, kale, carrots, blueberries, golden berries, cashews, sunflower & pumpkin seeds, avocado, herbs, feta, lemon-sesame vinaigrette (4/5). My wife really enjoyed her salad. I admit it was full of good ingredients but a tad bit heavy-handed on the dressing. Don't get me wrong the vinaigrette was delicious. Banana Bread Pudding (5/5) - Moist, crisp on the edges, and smothered in warm caramel sauce - this decadent bread pudding paired with vanilla ice cream was absolute perfection!
