I opted for an extended visits package and I am pleased to report that the results have been fantastic. In addition to significantly reduced discomfort in my shoulder, I have improved overall mobility and well being. I never realized how important good structural alignment is to one's health! Dr. Kenisha Faniel is always attentive to my concerns. She is friendly and caring. Her staff, courteous and engaging. Wow! Dr. Magafas, has done a great job in assisting me to getting back to a healthier, stronger body. I've been going to her for the past two months and the overall experience has been phenomenal. I've been coming to Dr Kristina for a few months now for migraines. She has been amazing and has had a huge impact on reducing my migraines. I can go to her in the middle of a migraine and she can instantly take it away better than my prescription medicine can. Went in because we are new residents to the Whittier area and we got a small flyer in the mail stating free adjustment, includes consultation, exam and adjustment. The back of the flyer states the "offer value $39".When we went in, I gave the flyer to the receptionist and she asked for my boyfriends name (since the visit was for him) and said oh this isn't for new members its for existing users. When I asked where does it state that, she said it states it where the flyer says "offer value $39". How is the world, does that even remotely fall into the same category as stating it is for existing members? Why would the flyer state that that it INCLUDES CONSULTATION, if it is for new members. They need either a new marketing team or a new receptionist. read more

What a great experience!! The receptionist was super nice and super helpful. The Chiropractor Kristina was wonderful. I have never seen a Chiropractor before in my life. But i wanted to know if they could adjust my back. I have danced many years since i was a child. Then later in life i had three babies. So my body was aching and dull in my shoulders, upper back and lower back. Well to my surprise she cracked my body (more like made it sing) and boy did it feel great!! Its been a four days and I haven't needed my husband to rub my shoulders or back . She even gave me a list of stretching exercises to do on a daily basis to keep me moving. read more

I had a accident about three years ago, played a little sports.. regular wear and tear, I usually go to get an adjustment and they feel along the spine where it's off and make an adjustment.. it usually works as I am pain free for ever months afterward before I get that slight nagging lower back pain. I have gotten an mri and I had a 2mm bulge from a herniated disc, which explained by my doctor, most of all men 35 and older have a herniated disc to that degree.. nothing special, just an average 37 year old, that lived and needs an adjustment once and a while, this doctor was terrified, said she couldn't do it, that I'd need to go to a special chiropractor who could do mri and x rays and had specula equipment, I usually go to dr Holland in La Habra but he's closed today, and today I had free time. Wouldn't recommend this chiropractor as she does really seem knowledgeable as to alleviating and symptoms that may arise from back pain.. more of a "maintenance" "generic" back adjustment. We need to find a way to give negative stars. Don't ever go in to this place and tell them the truth on your back pains. They will deny you treatment. Very disappointed, came in for their $29 introductory visit because i have recently been experiencing mid-lower back pain. This was my 1st time visiting a chiropractor. Receptionist and Chiro were nice (reason for the 2 stars). When she took me back for the consultation and adjustment (so i thought ) she began to explain what was wrong and the type of adjustment she was going to do to fix it. She then just volunteered me for a year package which i didn't ask for. I felt a little pressured and i told her no i would like to 1st try it out and go from there. After that she said she was not going to adjust me! WTH? so your not going to adjust me because i did not want to purchase a yearly package!? What a huge waste of my time!!!! I was in a lot of pain from doing deadlifts. Threw something out of wack from being too aggressive. I couldn't walk, sit or stand for too long. I was desperately looking for a chiropractor open on a Saturday who wouldn't charge an arm and a leg. Looked on Yelp and found The Joint. I was skeptical at first because it seemed like a drive thru chiro. I was desperate so I decided to go for their $29.00 adjustment. I figured that if I felt good, I'd sign up since I need adjustments every so often and they can add up at 50-100 . The Dr. was so good. She relieved my pain by 60% the first visit. I have been a member of The Joint chiropractic for over a year. I have been to many different locations during that time due to traveling often for work. I began coming to the Whittier location the past few months as often as possible, for the sole purpose to see Dr Magafas. She is the absolute best chiropractor I have been to and I have been a regular chiropractic patient since I played high school sports (many years ago). Not only are her adjustments amazing and give me relief from my upper back and neck tightness I encounter due to long flights, but her friendly and genuine personality is something you sometimes don't always get at other locations in the country. She ALWAYS asks me about how my trips went, how I'm doing, how I'm feeling and goes above and beyond every single visit to eliminate my discomfort. Unlike most chiropractic offices, The Joint is accessible to everyone. Take me for example, a college student living off a meager budget and yet I'm able to afford four adjustments a month! The Whittier location is especially fantastic because of the modern interior, technology, and service. Dr. Steve Lowry is THE best chiropractor I have ever been to, and let me tell you, I've been to a lot of them. He is very communicative of what he is adjusting and why. Furthermore, he is always willing and eager to hear about your health and where you might need an additional adjustment. For example, I have had an ongoing ankle condition, and he has been quintessential to helping me back on both feet with solid spine to help me along through the daily misalignments of life. I have never been to this location; however I did call and inquire about the cost of an adjustment and a possible membership. The woman I spoke to on the phone was incredibly rude. She must've said the words, "Like I said ..." about 10 times during our brief conversation. Every single question I asked was immediately cut - It became very clear to me that she did not want to help me with ANY information over the phone - she kept insisting that I come in. She actually said, "These questions are why we do this in person." I have never been treated so poorly by a business for simply asking questions that as a possible patron I have every right to ask. I've been going to The Joint for about 2 months now and I am glad I do. I really look forward to my weekly adjustments because I always feel like new when I leave. I have a toddler son so it is difficult for me to find time for such things, but I come during my lunch break and am in and out in about 5 minutes. I think I've had to wait once and that was only for about 10 minutes which is still not bad. Dr. Kenisha Faniel is really great. She always asks how I am feeling. Since coming, my body has felt very balanced. Of course I get the same tension and tightness from time to time but at least it is no longer building up and causing other problems (ie, pulled back muscles, headaches, stiffness) as before I started coming. I recommend this place and it is clean and the receptionists are all very friendly and kind. read more

I've been here three times and saw Dr. Magafas twice. She has been nothing but rude to me. Today there was a woman that went before me. I heard the chipper, courteous tone Dr. Magafas used with this woman, so I thought she was just in a bad mood on my first visit with her. This was not the case. She took one look at me and became very short with me. I don't know what I have done to deserve this treatment, but just like the first time I encountered Dr. Magafas, this time has left me with a bad taste in my mouth. I was very impressed by the service today. I came in with a herniated disc in my neck. The receptionist was very polite, and the Doctor was great. Very kind, and informative. For only $69 per month, I receive 4 adjustments. You can't beat that price anywhere. Although it's kind of like the fast food of chiropractors, being that they only adjust, and don't offer the other services... I still recommend it for those who need monthly maintenence. I went to the Joint, despite seeing the mixed reviews here on Yelp. I've been 4 times in the past two weeks and enjoyed each experience. I plan to continue going and ultimately I hope to go 1-2 times per month to maintain. On the visits I've been, I've never waited more than 5 mins before being seen. I've met two receptionists and both were helpful, friendly and kind. Not sure why some reviews here say otherwise. Yes, I was asked if I was coming as apart of an accident (they don't work with insurance so they won't take any workman's comp clients). This makes complete sense and I never felt "interrogated" or "interviewed". Ive been to privately owned chiropractic offices and they ask the same questions, this is just them gathering as mischief info as possible to help deliver the most appropriate services. I've seen two doctors (each 2 times) and I really enjoyed both. They asked me about how I felt in between visits, and before and after the adjustment how I felt. You're not going to get the "extras" of a stim machine, essential oils, muscle work, etc. but they were upfront about that. Just walk in, get adjusted and leave. It's great for me and I'm glad I went and will continue to go. read more

Incredible staff! During this unprecedented time, they have really went above and beyond in helping their patients. They are taking high measures in keeping their clinic SO CLEAN, and the procedures they are implementing when checking make me feel very comfortable and safe during my visit. From pre-creening questions, to temperature checks and on one of my visits I witnessed after I left the reception area, the receptionist sanitized the lobby right away. What a breathe of fresh air to see such dedicated work to keep this virus from spreading. The adjustments have helped tremendously during these stressful times. The staff are very professional and so nice. It amazes me that anyone could leave bad reviews. The Joint Chiropractic is also helping many financially, without any compromise on memberships. I overheard the receptionist offering freeze periods for those who want to stay home, which means no monthly fees are taken. When i asked the receptions about it, she also mentioned that on top of the freezing period, that when the patient comes back the month they return they are not charging the arent being charged for that month, so we're getting a free month of services and they are comping unused visits from the month the patient freezes! what more can you ask for?! Everyone know when signing up for any membership anywhere that you get a copy of what you signed up for. i was reading my terms and agreements copy given to me and it does state everything in plain sight. Yes it also does state the two month billing cycle requirement for "changes" which to me falls under updating or cancelling. Please read your TERMS & AGREEMENTS, which we all signed for. I have a close friend who had to cancel due to financial reasons, and it was no hassle, and on top of that they refunded her the month she never came in to get adjusted and allowed her to use the visits she had left until the membership cancelled before the next bill date.
