I spent forever researching a good chiropractor, decided to drive 35 minutes out of my way to Urteaga Chiropractic Sports Medicine, and was hugely disappointed. I'm not sure how they have good reviews. I work in a similar field (though I didn't tell them that), so I knew right away that the chiropractor was just going through the motions. He did a quick, superficial VBI test and cervical range of motion test, followed by a phony palpation and spinal accessory mobility test, pretending like he could feel some asymmetry side to side. Then, he did a super generic neck and upper back adjustment--on both sides, the exact same way, in under a minute--before leaving me in the room for 10-15 minutes on e-stim. That was it. I figured I'd give them one more chance, so I went back for a second appointment. This time, they put me on e-stim before even seeing the chiro, which lasted less than 5 minutes. Then, the chiro came in, did the exact same adjustment as last time (again, under a minute), and sent me off to massage therapy. Now, here's where it gets even worse. Massage therapy is in another building across the parking lot. My appointment was at 9:30 AM for a 30-minute massage, and I had to be at work by 10:30. At 9:35, the masseuse finally called me in. I told her I needed to be done by 10 AM at the latest, and she said OK. She spent 5 minutes asking questions. Then left me alone for another 5 minutes to take off my shirt. She finally started the massage at 9:45, worked on me for 5 minutes, then told me to change back at 9:50. I was out by 9:52--not even close to a full session. When I confronted her, she defended herself by saying, "Well, you told me to end early." I clarified that I just needed to be done by 10, but she insisted she started early (which was clearly not true since I was anxious to make it to work and was checking the time) and blamed me for the short session. We went back and forth, but at that point, I gave up and left. This place is all about money and does not care about the patient. They just meet the minimal billable times and push you through the system. The chiropractor didn't even remember anything from my first visit when I came back--he just walked in, did the same generic adjustment, and left. Avoid this place. It's a waste of time, and they don't care about actually helping you. read more

Easy to book an appointment, came for a 30 minute massage ($50). Liked the ambiance of the room and heated table. The masseuse inquired about my reason coming in to get a better idea of the massage. She was super nice! The massage itself lasted less than 20 minutes. Seems they include the prepping and talking as part of the 30-minute massage :( massage was okay, level of intensity was about 4/10. I tried to schedule it with Dr Urteaga as per my wife's recommendation. However that didn't work out, which was the main reason for making an appointment. First time here and I loved my massage. Raquel worked with me today and she was great. I came in with really bad shoulder blade pain and she worked it out. My massage was for a full body massage but I told her where I was having the biggest issue. She spent the majority of the time working on my issue and still managed to do the rest of my body too. I loved that she listened to my problem area as most massage therapists who are doing a full body massage don't really focus on the area of pain but equally work on all parts to complete the massage, so I appreciate the extra time spent on my problem area. I've been getting chiropractic adjustments and sobador adjustments on and off for over 20 years. I went to this place because it's close to where I live. I find out afterwards that my adjustment was done by an intern. It was extremely disappointing. I could have gotten a better adjustment with my four year old son sitting on me. I don't understand why an intern with no supervision was assigned to a new customer. Fortunately, my massage afterward from Tyler was great. Nevertheless, my pinched nerve is still there. I called and spoke to the office manager about my disappointing service and let her know that I'd like to get a call back from owner of the business to see if I can get adjusted by a different chiropractor with more experience. It's been over a week no call back as of yet. Very disappointed. UPDATE: I received a call from Dr. Urteaga and he listened to my concerns. He assigned Dr. Matt to provide another adjustment free of charge and that seemed to resolve the pinched nerve issue within a couple of days. read more

This is an update to my prior review from earlier this week. If I could give 10 stars, I would. Dr Matt helped me greatly earlier in the week. I still had one vertebrae that was out or it popped out again after I got home. I went back over today and saw Dr Urteaga. I showed him on a chart where the specific pain was. He immediately located the problem and adjusted it. I've been in debilitating pain for almost 2 weeks. I haven't been sleeping, it hurts to even sit and eat. Anything short of lying down was excruciating and even lying down didn't alleviate the pain. I've been living on ibuprofen and Tylenol. Nothing was touching the pain. This office resolved my pain in no time and explained how to stretch to prevent it going forward. I cannot suggest this practice highly enough. If you are suffering from joint pain, definitely go see these guys. They are a great family practice, they get you right in and take care of the problem in short order. read more
