Dr. Kenisha Faniel, D.C. is amazing and such a wonderful person. She listens. She cares. And she makes you feel real comfortable. This is my first time working with chiropractors and I was worried they would crack my neck!!! But they are very aware of people not knowing what chiropractic therapy actual is. Very unwelcoming over the phone. Questions were asked. Certain question comes up About whether or not I have been In any sort of accident and I responded that I was in a minor rear end collision with my car. Nothing serious more like an aggressive love tap and the woman on the phone proceeded to letting me know that the joint and all other joint locations can't see me because of that because they are not a traditional chiropractor office. Now I was not calling to get treatment for some accident I was calling because I was curious about the joint and the services they were poor provide as a chiropractor office But all I got was a wall of a Person who seemed very persistent to not help me. I was looking for a nearby chiropractor to take care of my back. I have been in pain for almost a week since I pulled it out of alignment, I first called a different Chiropractic clinic but they couldn't see me right away. I had to wait 3 1/2 hrs, that meant 3 1/2 hrs of more pain, so I called The Joint and I was told no appointment needed and to come in. Within less than 30 min, (once I finished filling out initial paper work) I was seen by Dr. Blake Carapino, he asked me some questions about my condition, and did an initial assessment, then proceeded to adjust my back. I could not walk on uneven ground without pain shooting down from the left side of my lower back before going to see Matt Costantino and get an adjustment. As a Chiropractor, Matt did a thorough evaluation of my spine and posture before diagnosing the Sacroiliac (SI) joint as being the root of my discomfort. He then put me on a plan for healing the issue. I can say that I can now walk, run, bike, surf without pain. I've definitely foud the ultimate value in taking his advice. Dr Magafas was fantastic she adjusted my upper and lower back in a very successful way. Most chiropractors have difficulty getting my upper back to move she was firm and gentle at the same time. So I usually go to the Downey location, but I was hanging out in Whittier today so decided to come to this location. At first I was really pissed off because I couldn't find the bloody place. Google maps kept showing it was next to sears and after walking around sears like 20 times I was getting really angry. Furthermore, I called the location about 6 times over the 30 minutes looking for the place and no one picked up.... and they didn't have a voice mail addressing that they were "the joint". They also did not exist on the directory since they are new. I started to think maybe this location was not open yet so I started to drive back home. As I was driving home I got a phone call from the receptionist saying she saw that I called them a few times. I decided to turn around since I had only been driving for 5 minutes.... AND I AM SO GLAD I DID. Dr Steve is amazing! So I am totes addicted to chiropractors... I just LOOOVEEE feeling it crack. I'm no virgin to chiropractors, Ive seen about 12 different chiropractors in my lifetime. To be honest Ive been pretty disappointed with the Downey location. They spend hardly any time with you and I do not feel that my treatment is personalized in Downey. Dr Steve in Whittier was able to get cracks out where no other was able to in Downey. He spent the time with me so that I felt that my treatment was personalized. I felt that he was genuine person... which I do not really feel in Downey. Honestly, I had canceled by membership at downey 2 weeks ago because I wasn't exactly thrilled with my treatment or service, but after seeing Dr Steve I am considering coming back to the joint and driving an extra 10 minutes for treatment which is a million times better! So the moral is the story is.... all of the joint locations are not made equal. There are crappy Dr's and good ones! If you dont like the one in downey I suggest coming down to the whittier location. Dr steve is in everyday except tuesday. So they have only been open for like 6 weeks, so they are pretty new. I really hope the Dr keeps up his good work and doesnt start taking short cuts or becoming generic. If the practice is reading this then I suggest: *Having a voice mail that address that you are the joint in whittier so people know they have the right number --We know that google maps is messing up the location SO... *Maybe even including where they are in the shopping complex on the voice mail. *Also including where there location is on the website Dr steve (I really hope I got your name right!) After a lil miss communication Heidi really went above and beyond to make me one happy customer. I thought the joint was more of a clinical chiropractic business but it's not, it's more of hands on cracking your back etc. So for that I really didn't care much for the joint. I prefer a clinical chiropractic place where they use electro therapy to shock your nerves. But if your looking for a quick fix than this is the place for you. Dr and I chatted then she got to work I heard pops and cracks in places I didn't even know were hurting when all was said and done I felt like someone had taken my bones and rearranged them back to where they were meant to be. Honesty doesnt work at the joint! Was very excited to become a month to month member at the joint and called in to set up an appointment which they dont take. The call was an interview to really dig in a see if there was something serious wrong with me. I Express muscle tightness/soreness in my back muscle which immediately disqualified me from even being examined. I'm not sure why licensed chiropractors cant do a simple exam to ensure there isnt anything seriously wrong with me. I was treated like a no body and was told to get a massage. I wanted chiropractic work for all the health benefits not too fix whatever issues they think I had. Long story short see a real chiropractor not this adjustment club!! read more

While they claim to be open 7 days a week, often no doctor shows up without notice and the office is closed. This recently happened two days in a row right before I was to have surgery. I wasn't able to be adjusted and am still out of place as I await doctor clearance. read more

I have tried without much luck to get in contact with one of their chiropractor's in regards to one of my employees who is one of their clients' health. I wanted to some kind of information in regards to what type of treatment that employee is receiving with one of the chiropractor's who has written several different notes stating how my employee isn't supposed to be lifting more than 5lbs. This isn't even a reasonable request that the chiropractor has made due to the nature of the work that we do. I demand that each one of my employees are capable of performing their daily routine to the best of their ability I have written two emails to one of their chiropractor's in order to clarify some of my own reservations about the nature of my employee's lower back issues and to their right hip, so if you want any of your concerns answered best to go some place else read more

Open the door sat in the lobby for 5 minutes with no contact (even called the phone line again multiple times thinking they may not have heard the door) still nothing. I showed up at the whittwood location to get an adjustment. They told me this was strictly for maintenance. I have issues with neck,spine,and lower back. I waited for about 30 minutes doing paperwork etc. When I got to the back I explained to the chiropractor that I had neck and lower back pain. I explained my symptoms and that I had a chiropractor however, he was to expensive for me to afford. She then denied me the adjustment because she didn't feel comfortable adjusting my back without my current X-ray! And I was on my way. What gets me is I wasted my time, why not ad a disclaimer stating person's with chronic issues will not be seen. She was very unapologetic and that was it. I wouldn't recommend this place, especially people with chronic or acute conditions. This place is more for a young person with minor back pain. I Yelp the truth so it's your choice if you decide to visit this incompetent chiropractor that cant handle the responsibility of someone with real chiropractic needs then she shouldn't be working in her field. The doctor in the hospital never passes the book when a person needs care they take care of the problem because the patient is important and the job needs to be done. Not in this case. read more

This place is great! I desperately searched for a Chiropractor after I let a minor neck kink go on for 2 weeks thinking it'd get better but took a turn for the worse! It got to the point where it was so painful, I had zero mobility and couldn't even sleep. After patiently seeing Dr. Nick for several visits he was able to get me back on track! Dr. Nick is very friendly, thorough and really cares for his patients. I will definitely be seeing him frequently to avoid any future injuries. i have chronic back pain/sciatica and the other side of my back was tensed up due to overcompensating. it was my first time going to a chiropractor but i guess you could say i was desperate. i called and they told me to walk in. i did so- filled out the 7 pages of paperwork & was called back immediately which i thought was great. there was a consult. the dr told me he thought i didn't have sciatica, just low back problems. had me do some stretches/ positions to see how i could move. began the adjustment. at first when he was cracking my upper-mid back i was like cool this feels great, i'm definitely going to be looser. but then he had me lay on my side and applied an insane amount of pressure to my lower back. i have a very sensitive low back and it HURT. but i thought it was just part of it. afterwards i did feel a little looser but as the day went on my low back pain got worse. i was still being told this was normal by people that have been to chiropractors before, soreness was okay, etc. but then, the pain was so excruciating i couldn't stand up or walk straight. i had to call out of work the next day, and the day after that. i feel they really injured me and that this level of pain is not necessary. $29 may be a good deal but i'm not amused that i paid $29 to end up in horrible pain, warranting an ER visit, cancelled christmas plans, and missing 2 days of work. in a perfect world i'd ask for my money back but i know how these things work. read more
