We've worked with dozens of contractors and we have always had so much difficulty with communication, the quality of work, and cost estimates that it's been so hard to trust anyone. I was recommended to David and his team after asking the Woodland Hills Facebook group for recommendations for someone to install our porch swing bed. I reached out to several contractors but David was the most responsive, respectful, and he also had fair pricing. He came out with his team and they all did the job efficiently. After the swing bed was installed, we had asked him for his estimates on a stucco planter to match our existing planter in our front yard so we could place another olive tree in and they did a great job. It matches our existing planter perfectly. Our existing planter caused so much headache from the former contractor and it took so much longer to complete. We also asked for a shower door to be installed in our guest bathroom. David selected the door for us, installed it, cleaned up afterwards, and finished within a few hours. He also weatherproofed our front door and even took charges off our balance because he didn't have to use new material. The honesty, ease of communication, professionalism, and the fact that they are okay working around our Australian Shepherd keeps us wanting to reach back out to David and his team. That's right, 100+ gallons of feces (not even our own!) & debris dumped under our dream home. Apropos of the overall experience, but that's not even the start. (All caps for the TLDR crowd) If you're searching for a contractor, RUN AWAY from these clowns. If you've had recent work completed by NL Remodeling I am begging you to hire an independent inspection for your safety. They hire unlicensed workers to work on major systems, including plumbing & electrical, and are also unlicensed to do this work. They will not acknowledge the use of unlicensed workers because THEY STILL EMPLOY THESE GUYS! They are not victims, and this wasn't a one-off mistake. They know exactly what they're doing. We signed a contract with NL Development & Remodeling, Inc, LICENSE # 1109527, for whole-home remodeling services on 02/16/2025. We signed with OSHER ELUL, AKA MIKE, who is CEO / President of NL Development & Remodeling, Inc. His brother, GOVANNI ELUL, AKA BEN, acted as our project manager for the entirety of the job. They both presented themselves as licensed contractors. In fact, they are not. We've since learned the license holders associated with this company are ROMEO P LACUESTA - B (General Building), and PROSPER A KDOSHIM - C39 (Roofing). We never spoke with or saw either of them on our job at any time. We believe they're nothing more than an ostensible partnership. Our job site was never kept clean. There was never a dumpster, just a mountain of construction trash in our back yard blowing onto our neighbor's property. Communication was horrible, and we were constantly stood up for meetings. Their subcontractors never seemed to know what was going on or have clear direction. Mike and Ben were provided a set of detailed plans. After multiple small errors occurred that needed correction, Mike and Ben both separately admitted THEY DON'T KNOW HOW TO READ CONSTRUCTION DOCUMENTS! There was a total lack of oversight on our job. The UNLICENSED PLUMBER, VICTOR, that NL employed caused extensive damage we only discovered at the end of the project. He never completed the plumbing lines run under the house. Both showers, one sink, and the tub all drained straight to the ground below. One toilet and one sink were connected to the main line, but it terminated short also dumping to the ground under the house. This toilet was being used by the entire crew for 4 months, and all of that waste just piled under the house until it started to back up and compact into the pipe. The back up spilled out of the primary bathroom damaging our newly refinished hardwood floors. P-traps buried in the dirt, tub and washing machine drain lines were too small / not to code. We had to open the wall behind the washer to replace the drain line. We had unstrapped gas lines, and DOCUMENTED GAS LEAKS at appliance connections. Mike called us liars, refusing to even acknowledge these problems. We had to hire professional plumbers to repair and remediate. Check the pic of all the bags of feces & debris before they were hauled away! THE PLUMBERS WE HIRED SAID IN THEIR 20 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE THEY'D NEVER SEEN ANYTHING AS NEGLIGENT AS WHAT NL & VICTOR HAD DONE. The UNLICENSED ELECTRICIAN NL employed, MARCOS FELICE of GODFATHER ELECTRIC (check my other reviews), left wire and cable feeds laying directly on our roof causing a FIRE HAZARD, wires in attic missing junction covers, and left all wiring under the house loose and laying on the ground. We're missing GFCI outlets near sinks, we have loose and non-functioning outlets and overall shoddy workmanship. They DO NOT PAY THEIR SUBS & VENDORS even though NL was paid in full for the goods/services. I have multiple texts from various subcontractors stating they weren't paid. When confronted Mike would threaten to leave the job, call us liars, demand more money, promise to pay his subs, write checks to those subs then immediately withdraw funds so the checks would bounce (I have his admission in a text), and then tell the subcontractors to put liens on our property to collect. Hilariously, Marcos was one of those subs. Apparently, he's now been paid in full. Likely because Mike wants to use him on your job next! They LEFT OPEN HOLES IN OUR NEW ROOF. Our new gutters are angled improperly so they don't drain. Just great with the recent rains! Save yourselves the financial devastation and emotional stress. As of the date of this review, we are still remediating and repairing Mike & Ben's work.

Outdoor Complete Stucco Repair, Prep, Prime & Paint:…read more We had a wonderful experience working with LA Home Contractor for painting and stucco repairing the exterior of our two-story, 2500 sf house. Imagine saying that about working with a contractor! We had gotten 5 separate quotes, several of which were more than double LA Home Contractors' quote (no kidding!). They are fully insured, including workers' comp (several of the other contractors lied to our faces about insurance). LA Home Contractors showed up on time as promised and were detail-oriented in the prep, painting, and clean up. They were very patient with our nit-picking ways, always responding with utmost courtesy and patience. They showed up on time, worked Saturdays, finished on time, and were completely professional throughout. We strongly recommend them. Purchasing Completely New AC - Heating System We were so delighted with the painting job that we also contracted with LA Home Contractor to upgrade our AC and Heating unit. Again, they were very responsive to our wishes, not just selling us what they had in stock, but ordering the larger, more expensive unit that we wanted, at what we know was a very good price. Removing our old unit and installing the new main outdoor compressor and the heating blower were all accomplished in a day, they even installed the Thermostat model of our choice that was compatible to the new AC System. We strongly recommend them for your Air Conditioning needs, as well. This is truly an outstanding Company with a fabulous Team. We are planning on hiring them to rework our pool, outdoor fire place and all our bathrooms!

We hired L.A. Home Contractor Inc. (CSLB #1027193) for a full project that included roof…read morereplacement, patio cover repair/paint with new aluminum roofing, gutters, and two window replacements. While we were initially satisfied with the roof, a neighbor later went up on it and reported several "soft" spots where plywood should have been replaced but was not. The patio cover work was especially disappointing. The wood was painted without any sanding or proper preparation, visible staples from a previous birthday party were left in place, replacement boards were installed misaligned and loose, and many boards cracked or split due to poor screw placement. I personally gave the company the benefit of the doubt and even questioned whether my 72-year-old mother had been too rash in her criticism. However, after coming to the house and seeing the work for myself, it was clear the quality was unacceptable. The issues appeared to stem partly from incompetence, but even more so from a clear lack of care. The work felt rushed and thoughtless -- as if the crew simply didn't care about the final product. The project was significantly delayed with inconsistent communication, and tools were frequently left lying around the yard (including in the rain) for weeks. When I raised our concerns with project manager Adam in the aftermath while trying to figure out what went wrong, he was hostile and dismissive, even going so far as to blame my mother for "leaving for her son's house whenever they wanted to come do work." By that point she was already long over it, and like many older homeowners, she had started retreating from the situation when she became unhappy with the delays and quality. Because of the substandard work, we terminated services before the windows were started. We have since requested a refund for the patio portion and the unperformed window work, but the company has been slow and unresponsive. We will now have to hire another contractor to properly redo the patio work, making this entire experience a complete waste of time and money. It is worth paying a bit more for reliable, specialized contractors rather than jack-of-all-trades companies that operate like door-to-door sales operations and are not particularly good at any one thing. Based on our direct experience, I strongly advise homeowners to avoid L.A. Home Contractor Inc.

Mitch and his team came out to replace a section of my roof that had become severely damaged by…read morewater pooling in a certain area over the years! He tore out the old shingles and replaced the plywood underneath that had rotted out and was causing leaks. He then put on new asphalt shingles that blended well with the ones I had that were 25 years old! He told me that the rest of the roof was in good shape and didn't try and upsell me on redoing the whole thing. He was prompt, honest, and didn't damage anything else while doing the roofing work! His quote was very reasonable, he was easy to work with and communicated well about any issues that arose, often via text messages . It is now 3 years later, and not one drop of water has leaked from that part of my roof, or any other part that he certified was in decent shape for how old it was. I can definitely recommend him!
