The restaurant is housed in a brick historic building and while it was very done up and modernly decorated inside, the same inside was very small and they have very limited seating. Came here for a late brunch on Sunday and we had to sit at the bar at first. Many tables became empty at 2pm but none of the servers asked whether we wanted to be seated. We had been waiting for about 20min after putting in our food orders but since our food hadn't arrived, I would've expected an offer to sit at a real table. Anyways, I asked for us to be seated and was able to enjoy our meal in a more comfortable setting. The decor was really polished, high end looking with metallic accents. The bar was beautiful and the bathrooms were fancy! Love the wallpaper! Servers were friendly, fine but service time took way too long. I suppose due to limited seating, the place was already packed and due to the space constriction, their walk in deep freezer and pantry is located outside! So I can see why all that would add to the service time. The food was excellent. BF ordered this pork belly eggs benedict with sweet potato hash and I got the French Crost (croissant toast!) with pistachio and condensed milk. Wow. Presentation was very appetizing and taste was great. Wish the eggs benedict dish came with more than 1 egg tiny poached egg though. I was glad we took a chance with The Industry in Akron for Valentine's Day. First of all what impeccable service, just a felt like a one-to-one ratio, but I know that our server was spread thin. We went for a late lunch just because they were booked for dinner and we tried the lobster rolls two ways which worked out because my wife likes the buttered lobster and I like the lobster salad version and we also tried Au Jus steak sandwich, and some wonderful wonderful deviled eggs with pork belly on them. Well, this is a restaurant experience I'll never forget - not because of the restaurant, per se, but because of a major car accident I found myself in soon after I left... but I digress! I tried The Industry out for a work celebratory dinner a couple months ago, and it was packed on a rainy Thursday night! For only being in business for a few months, that's great news! It did mean that it took a long time for us to get our drinks and food. I think we were there for nearly 3 hours! The bathroom was nicely decorated but the floors were a bit dirty. The classy interior was chic and modern and the building itself, is historic and well-maintained. As with most new restaurants, some fine-tuning is needed on service both with speed of service and memory of the menu itself. I'm sure this will get worked on in no time. Now the menu is small and well-curated. My colleagues and I tried a few cocktails, two appetizers to share, and had our own main dish. My mojito was average and I regret ordering the duck cubano. It didn't have any other meat on it other than duck and had no mustard! I think my djion mayo was forgotten and honestly, it should just be regular dijon on it anyway. And it should have been panini-pressed. My coworkers meals all looked great though, especially the Nashville hot chicken sandwiches! The Bavarian pretzel app was also pretty dynamite. I could chug gallons of that melted guyere cheese for sure. While my memory of my night at The Industry is tarnished by my car accident (I know it's not their fault- but it's all I associate it with now!), the food is a 4/5, service a 3/5, and vibes a 5/5. Checked out The Industry last night for a date night. It did not fail to amaze us. The staff is super nice, very attentive, and had a great sense of humor that played along with our style. They were able to anticipate our needs before we needed the "thing" and it created for such a more relaxing experience. We started with a few appetizers. The Bread and Spread was a standout, especially the Garlic spread with its smooth, buttery finish. The Deviled Eggs were elegantly presented and had a nice texture. However, the Lobster Poutine was a bit disappointing, with more potato than meat and subtle flavors that didn't quite stand out. I had the Steak with Wild Mushroom Risotto and it was fantastic. The steak was cooked as I liked it, the Risotto had a smooth and buttery finish. The Vegetable was a little on the crunchy side, but I prefer it like this. Needless to say, I didn't share much and would easily order this again. I would absolute be back to The Industry. It is great to see such a nice restaurant coming to the area! read more

Very cool, unique place, there is nothing else like it in this area in my opinion, it's an old 1900s school house turned into a gastropub/speakeasy type feel. We sat in the lounge which next time I would sit on the other side; the lounge was noisy and close together, you are right on top of other people so it's hard to hear over everyone else's conversations but definitely would be better if your meeting someone for just drinks! The food was good, and I thought priced fair for what this place is, you definitely don't see a lot of this stuff on other menus. First of all, I'll say the lobstah rolls were ON POINT. They were like seriously so good. I am always hesitant to get a lobstah rolls in Ohio (or anywhere that's not New England really.) Sometimes even the ones in any state south of Connecticut suck, and that includes places like Florida that are surrounded by water. Anyhow, I digress. They did a GREAT job with these. Clarified butter, lemon, generous meat portions, the right kind of bun. They even give you one Maine style and one Connecticut style. They used the right kind of roll. I am a BIG fan of the person who did some research to get this right. Second, the ambiance was just gorgeous. The venue is a good mix of historic and modern. Nice, clean, and chic decor. It was raining outside, but the outdoor space looked really cool too. The service was honestly the only part I struggled with. If the food weren't so good, I could not rate this place so high. Service was aloof, at best. Rude, at worst. Even if the place looks like it belongs in NYC, the attitude doesn't need to match......I ordered my food to go, which went fine, although it seemed to catch them off guard. They must not have many to go orders. So the bar was about 85% full and I snagged a seat at the end, thinking I'd order an Old Fashioned while I waited. They looked so good! Well the lady next to me snapped "someone is sitting there!" So I jumped up. "Sorry", I shrugged. Sheepishly I kind of hovered there at the end of the bar. I think she was embarrassed, because she said "oh, you can sit here til he arrives". I didn't do so. My food shouldn't be long (which it wasn't). So I made eye contact with the bar tender and smiled, as I held the cocktail menu in my hand. Said tender of bar wiped down the surfaces of the bar, straightened the bottles, and did everything but approach me for my order. Meanwhile, enter the guy whose seat was being held. He kind of pushed me out of the way to get into his chair and sat down. The bartender immediately came over and took his order, still ignoring me. {Sigh}. I think if I were that late arriving guy, I might have said "hey, she was first- go ahead and get her order". Nope. He was rude too. I never did get to try that amazing looking Old Fashioned. Left the bar area with my tail between my legs. But not for nothing, my food arrived a few minutes later and I got out of there and enjoyed my luscious lobster rolls. So for that they get four stars. I want to preface this by nothing was wrong, it was fine. We sat at the bar because we were told for two of us it would be a 45 min wait on a Thursday, at six pm. We sat at the bar. Intricate detail in every inch of this place. This place rocks if you're solely seeking aesthetic. The women's room was gorgeous. and there's a door handle plate on the entry way door that is ornate and these details are so flattering! Bartenders were polite and nice. Overall I found the food expensive and to not be big enough portions. I felt hungry after and I had got a full salad with halibut and the truffle stones aka fingerling potatoes. The halibut was good, my bf said it smelled and tasted too fishy for him. I wanted the halibut to be a "Cajun seasoned" or "sesame crusted" any flavoring that may elevate the option. I got the "elote Caesar" which offered the vegetables of lettuce and corn....this place seems popular for women so such a limited arrangement of vegetables in the salad felt unfinished. I got a $15 cocktail, cucumber cooler; it had some fresh elements but overall felt generic and I wish I would've done something more reliable. We were so impressed with our lunch at The Industry. I got the smash burger, and while the burger wasn't what I would typically consider a "smash burger" patty, it was amazing. My husband got the patty melt, which he orders frequently when we go out, and said it's in the top 2 that he's ever had. My 6 year old even ate her entire burger. The Industry is in a former brick school building. The owners have put a lot of time and expense into creating a beautiful custom interior. Lots of reclaimed wood and custom built shelves. If you are into architecture and creative decor you will enjoy this place. The staff is very pleasant and accommodating. Lots of hand clearing, checking on you. Food is exceptional, creative and well what you want from a restaurant. No Sysco truck here. I had the halibut with the wild mushroom risotto. Loved it. Fish had a good sear and was done perfectly. My two complaints. I got a very small portion of risotto, see the picture. As a guy I could have used a bigger meal. We also had an appetizer which help but even then I ate most of my wife's potatoes. The second is the Blanton is $24 a glass. Way too over priced. Pretty excited to have a new, more upscale/unique place to eat in the area. VERY hard to get good reservations since they're new. We got one for the "lounge" which are small cocktail tables by the bar. Served the purpose for getting to try it out. The bar is small so while you may be tempted to try that as a way to get in, it seems usually always busy. The ambiance is rustic upscale which I love. Food was yummy! I loved the bread with dips appetizer. I didn't think the risotto goat cheese balls had much of any flavor so I'd probably sit those out next time. Currently pregnant, I very much appreciate that they had a mocktail menu! We tried the duck and halibut entrees, both pretty good. Since I heard this was opening, I have been looking forward to eating here. It's a neat building inside and outside. It's not overly large inside and it is loud in here. Parking was ample but not overly spacious. I would recommend reservations or you might not get seated right now without a long wait. Like most places such as this, the prices are basically $15 and up for the food. Tonight they were out of multiple items across the menu and they actually came back and told my wife she had to pick something else out. The pork belly deviled eggs were delicious, but $13 for four of them would cause me to skip it next time. I had a duck Cubano, two of us had burgers, and one of us had the PBLT. All the food was good and the service was too. I look forward to seeing how they evolve over time. I would eat here again. read more

My wife and I ate here for the first time and I would highly recommend it. We had the pretzel board and while it was good it was just average. Nothing fancy. The cheese dip is amazing We each had the 100 Caesar salad which had plenty of dressing and was fresh. For dinner my wife got the dip, which comes with the paver potatoes. She enjoyed it, but wished the meat was a little thinner. I had the flank steak which was cooked perfectly and it had great seasoning. We also ordered the gnocchi Mac which was good but needed a bit more sauce. We also ordered the truffle potatoes which were an excellent choice! For dessert we had the pistachio terimasu and the espresso gelato. We were not disappointed. Our drinks were awesome I had the fireside espresso martini and bubble martini. My wife had the pear spritz and burnt lemon martini. Their drinks are to die for. Our server Jon was incredible. He was polite helpful and guided us on a nicely timed dinner. My only complaints were the lights kept flickering and we sat at a table by the bar which was close to a door. They kept going in and out and of course it was cold so I kept getting chilled. We ordered our appetizers which included the crispy onigri and calamari. Crispy onigri was good but the calamari might've been the worst I've ever had. It was literally burnt and anyone who liked calamari knows you can't overcook it. I never send food back but on that one I did. I ordered the flank steak and was happier with that. My husband ordered the dip sandwich bc I was between the steak and the dip so I could also try it. I will say I ordered better and felt bad for him bc the dip was disappointing. The Au Jus was thick like a gravy and tasted off. The sandwich was completely dry and needed a sauce but the Au Jus wasn't great. I will say the paving stones it came with were good. Staff acknowledged calamari was burnt and overcooked and offered to take off our receipt which was nice but when we were brought the check and gave them the card realized we still paid for it. The lobster rolls were good, I preferred the non-mayo one, the calamari was very good, not too spicy. We also had the lobster gnocchi and it was not too mushy which is always a thing, properly prepared gnocchi is hard to find. The salad was very bland and dry for $16. I feel like if it had been dressed instead of dressing on the side it would have been better but the rosemary croutons were good. $125 out the door for two which is pricy when you're sitting at a very small bistro sized table that wobbled the whole time. Sampled our way thru the menu. We ordered the lobster rolls. You get two rolls and clarified butter on the side. These looked and tasted excellent. Next we got the Caesar Beet salad. It was very well put to gether. We followed that with some Brussels sprouts and some truffle fingerling potatoes. Both great sides.
