We had a fun time at the Twisted Olive with two other couples. A beautiful property with many tables and side rooms. Decor was a modern rustic. The grounds were well maintained and everything looked great. In warm weather outdoor seating must be awesome. Our server was very friendly, answered all questions and stopped by the right amount of times. After drinks we skipped appetizers and ordered dinner. I had the Italian Mac and Cheese with hot sausage. The pasta was properly al dente and cream sauce was delicious. The sausage is not what I'd consider hot, but it tasted fine. We stopped at The Twisted Olive for dinner tonight and we had some delicious food! My wife got the gluten free French onion soup and gluten free crispy shrimp. She loved all of it! I got the Lasagna and it was absolutely delicious and I would get that every time! Our service from Kailey G was amazing and she was very attentive the whole time. Wow, this is the best Italian place I have ever ate at. We were visiting someone at Kent and found this little gem. I wished we lived closer unfortunately, we live in Columbus, but we WILL be back. The food was fresh and homemade. The portions were big. The dessert was amazing. They have lots of selects of wines, some from there own vineyards! I had a lovely and sweet Moscato! The good news is this is much better than Olive Garden. Now to the bad news. Okay, in fairness the interior and landscaping is really well done. They have roughly repeated the architecture of their main facility. I do appreciate the lack of modernistic bland corporate design but architecture can only take you so far. The service and the staff are very good, friendly and want to make sure you have a good experience. The real problem is the food is mediocre. The lasagne is piled high with lots of sauce but there was no filling. The tomato sauce made the dish palatable but I really only got pasta noodles and sauce. The puff pastry meatloaf is a nice try at an Americana version of Beef Wellington. I like the concept but the execution was poor. The puff pastry was bland and might have been microwaved. It didn't have that signature flaky crust you expect with pastry. The meatloaf itself was good and the bbq sauce tasted like they made it. Hello Twisted Olive I wish my review could have been better, but also speaks the same sentiments of my meal and service on Friday. I have been to Twisted Olive on many occasions and previously always had superior service, expedited meal delivery and amazing food. Sorry, not this time. My wife and I were placed in the back by the bathrooms and listening to the hand-dryer for 2 hours. Yes two hours. Our server was very pleasant and attentive but unfortunately, food didn't come out so fast. Our salads were great and very large to be a "small". The complimentary bread had a spicy kick on top. The Brussel Sprouts are the best dish here and a Must Try. For our entrees my wife always gets the same thing "Short Rib" and she was very pleased with her meal. This time I wanted to try something different so I opted for the Pork Chop. I noted that it came topped with Bleu Cheese which I never heard of before paired with pork. The presentation was beautiful, but cooked Bleu Cheese was absolutely horrible, so I scraped it all off. Now let's talk about the protein itself. This was not a brined piece of meat. This was not a marinated piece of meat. It lacked flavor so much that I had to doctor it up with salt and pepper. Unfortunately the salt shaker had to much humidity and I could not get salt out; I had to suffer through my meal. No grill marks, no smoke flavor, not glaze. This was a Well Done cooked Pork Chop related to temperature so it needed some kind of sauce. The mashed potatoes were okay but the string beans were flavorless and seemed to be just blanched or lightly steamed. read more

I went with my partner and my mom to celebrate a belated birthday. While it was quite cold outside, we were pleasantly surprised by the space inside. The restaurant has abundant seating across two floors with a large waiting area near the host desk. We were seated downstairs in a large, comfortable booth. The ambiance felt like a mix of Italian family-style and elevated wine bar. I had the chicken puttanesca, which was cooked perfectly. The chicken was juicy, nicely seasoned, a generous portion, and I couldn't get enough of the sauce. We also shared a large Greek salad and the loaded fries. My only criticism for either was the salt level on the loaded fries. Again, portions were fantastic and pricing wasn't too bad considering the quality of ingredients. This is a great spot to take family or to celebrate a special occasion. I hope to be back again soon. read more

We come here often - we used to live in green and came here even more but now anytime we are back it's a stop for us. Had a chopped salad with chicken that was good but make sure you ask for more dressing if you don't like it dry because it was a little too lightly dressed for me. My husband had the Italian Mac and cheese and his was great he said! Loving the radiator pasta. Overall - love gervasi wine and the vibes are great. This is an overdue review. I've been here multiple times but I thought today was special. The food is always banging, and I always enjoy my order (especially the pizza) but today I asked the waitress to put the Italian Beef sandwich over broccoli instead of bread and fries. She was so kind and made it happen so I could maintain my lifestyle choice instead of compromising. The flavors came out really well and I left super satisfied. My wife has been here a few times before with her friends. I was here for a small birthday party for a friend turning 85 and myself turning 80 in a couple of days. My wife set this up. The restaurant is hidden from the main road which I like and inside the restaurant is very spacious. I had Shrimp Carbonara which was very delicious. The salad was made with greens, figs, 4 apple slices, candied pistachio nuts and a wonderful dressing. Our waitress, Chandler, was a WONDERFUL server! She was very attentive and knowledgeable. The actual pasta was pretty good (tri-color), and the butternut squash sauce was good enough to eat off of a flip flop, but the peas and corn were very undercooked and seemed to be canned. I get it with peas, but late summer in Ohio there's no shortage of fresh corn. Service there is great. 4 stars because their dinner and service deserves 5 and their lunch eked out a 3. Great venue and ambiance. Ample outdoor seating. Comfortable inside and out. Nice view of the pond that is reachable from Boettler Park. They're accommodating to large groups, even at lunch time. The Twisted Olive is so unique and nice. I went when visiting my daughter and her fiancé. Service started out slow but picked up after the delivery of bread. We ordered calamari and Brussels sprouts for the table. I love Brussels sprouts but my stomach tells me otherwise so I only tried a little bit of those. They were good. The calamari was delicious. I had the crab cake sliders. The bun was soft but the crab cake was not as crabby as I would have liked. It had good flavor but it kind of fell apart. Everybody else enjoyed their dinners. I recommend looking around the restaurant, there is a cute bar downstairs and a nice outdoor patio. There is also some nice artwork located throughout the restaurant. read more

The service was amazing from our waiter staff Jackson was amazing. The host stressed reservations. We arrived on a Thursday around 4 o clock ! Happy hour. No wait and we're seated. It filled up in there about an hour later. Ambiance is nice slightly upscale but feel free to wear jeans. Our bill was $113 prior to tip. We had 4 cocktails, appetizer Brussels sprouts, and our entrees. The starter drinks were blue berry lemonade a vodka based cocktail. It was sweet and okay. I would advise adding soda to it to add some carbonation to aid in balance. Now the star of the show was the double barreled drink. It was a bourbon based, honey simple syrup, ginger beer, muddled lemon and citrus with Grand Marnier . You could taste every flavor note acid, heat, bubbly, citrus , caramel and bourbon so amazing would recommend!! Second drinks were it's about thyme and strawberry jalapeño julep . These two cocktails we didn't enjoy honestly . The it's about thyme you could power through. The spicy strawberry gave a burn of an aged bourbon . Super heat! Not a fan. Just a taste preference. Next was the The Brussel sprouts are a house favorite and for good reason ! They are made crispy with bacon, cheese and some type of sweetness ! Very flavorful ! A star! My husband doesn't like Brussel sprouts and will tear these up! Crab cakes were balances and fresh !!!! Fries crispy! The portobello mushroom was extremely balanced as well perfect home made marinara (or so it tastes like) , cheese and balsamic drizzle! The twisted olive is nestled back in the woods, surrounded by ponds and willow trees. The atmosphere is very relaxing and enjoyable with awesome views and great decks. The staff is awesome. Very friendly and accommodating. We had a couple cocktails and pizza. The cocktail was a little on the strong side, and the Moscato was good, but we do like our wine on the sweeter side. We probably would not do the drinks again. You really do not get a lot for the price that you pay and they definitely were not amazing, but they were good. The pizza was absolutely amazing and they were very accommodating due to my wife's dairy allergy and had half the pizza with cheese and the other half without. The pizza and the toppings were very good. we stopped in to check the place out for our sons wedding rehearsal dinner.
