Big THANK YOU to Keri and her staff for being accomodating, offering suggestions and making sure everyone had a drink in hand in a timely manner. We appreciated the open communication we had with Keri throughout the planning process. Highlights: * Great selection of wine, beer, non-alcoholic beers/wines *Ample amount of usable space -- we made use of the main room, the party room (behind the barn doors) and the back room (we set the buffet table up there). * A great place to mingle and socialize. Daughter and son in law had their small reception here. They have the most wonderful and kind bartender Katie working there. She was so helpful with everything. That being said, if it were not for her this review would not have anything good in it. The owner was very difficult and unfriendly. Not helpful at all and would not allow us to move anything. This woman owned local business is a gem to the North Canton community. They currently have a limited appetizer menu but they let you bring in your own food. People have food delivered all of the time. My girlfriends and I play trivia there every Wednesday night and the staff is amazing (thank you Emily and Brady)! The ambiance is great and so is their selection, lots of locally brewed beer and a great wine list. They've also recently added some great cocktails and they have great tequila! Great find in N Canton! Me and three pals were in town for the NFL HoF game and made several trips to The Barrel Room. Very relaxed vibe, personable, friendly service. food has been not bad the last couple times i went and i enjoyed the service the first time we went. Tonight my wife and i went to get some apps and perhaps start the bar crawl there. waited 10 min for service and asked my wife if she wanted to leave. she commented that others that came after us were being served before us. the bartender heard and said she would help us in a couple minutes. 10 minutes later, after serving others who came before us and feeling ignored we left. I was here for a birthday party the other day. It is very close to my home, but even after living here for almost two years, this was the first time I had been. Nice venue with a good selection of draft beers. I found the service at the bar to be fast and efficient, even though it was busy. The only complaint I have is the parking.....it was a rainy day, and I had to park in the back. My shoes were all muddy and it was not a very pleasant walk through puddles to get to the door. My friend and I went here after she had been telling me how great it was for months. She was right! We walked in on a Saturday night and the place wasn't packed, but had a fare amount of people. There was also a guy there play acoustic guitar and he was great. We got drinks right away, a very short wait at the bar. The owner Adam even came over and said hi to us. I knew he really was the owner because I spoke with him previously on the phone about throwing a bridal shower there. They will open on a Sunday for your event and you get your own waitress and the place to yourself. You don't have to pay a fee, they just ask that you buy food and bottles there. DUH, that goes without saying. As far as food goes I believe they just have appetizers. They pour you a good size glass when you order too. Much appreciated. Also, they have beer. While the interior could be cozier for a wine bar, they have a nice wine list, very reasonable prices (compared to what I'm used to in a major metropolitan area), friendly servers, and local artists adorning the walls with their paintings (most are for sale). As the food menu is limited, they allow patrons to bring in outside food, and I saw several pizza delivery folks arrive while I was there. I have been coming to this place since Adam opened it up however the wine is ok but the atmosphere is always what made us come back. Now let me get to the part that will never have us come back, Keri I guess is now part owner and has always been very rude to us and they are always out of beer, and the wine just got worse. What I am saying if I am going to spend $8 on a glass of wine that is terrible I will go to Geravisi and know I will get amazing service and fabulous wine. If you come only drink! And if you only drink only order wine! They were out of all the beer that they had on the menu. Then we ordered appetizers and they didn't have those either. We got the cheese tray because they were out if meat and that was giant eagle bought cheese (most of the crackers were stale. Also got the buffalo cheese dip, and the chips were also stale. The Barrel Room is a great location for a large group. A lot of room for a bridal shower, birthday party, or life celebration. The inside has more of a bar feel than a wine bar to me. I'd love to have a little more info about the wine when selecting. The service was great and very friendly. I felt like the atmosphere was missing either music or noise from the game. Was there several weeks ago with my husband. We were enjoying the patio when a girl started violently vomiting on the patio. The staff brought her a trash can but never attempted to remove her from the patio. After 45 minutes of being in the proximity of a vomiting person, we went inside paid our tab and left. I was in disbelief that an establishment would tolerate this. Inside was loud and rowdy. The band volume was overpowering, this is why we were outside.
