GF EVERYTHING DELICIOUS such a cool spot - would love to come back for music but this time we visited for brunch - so so good!!!! Best coffee, lovely service and everything was freshly made. Will be coming back as next time my kids want chicken and waffles - we saw them on another plate and they looked not to be missed!!!

Food was amazing and it's all gluten free. Fast, friendly service. Didn't have to wait to get a table. Will be back!

Stop in to grab a drink and listen to some music. The bartenders were friendly and the prices were decent. I don't remember what I ordered. But I do remember that it wasn't quite what I expected. It came out quickly. It was hot and fresh. It was spicier than I would have liked. But I am not a fan of anything hot so that's probably me. The band that was playing that night was booked as a blue's band. The band was good but definitely not what I would classify as blues. It was right across the street from the hotel that I was staying in. So it was very convenient. I will definitely stop and again if I stay at that hotel.

I loved the scene at Jilly's Music Room. We came for a Sunday brunch - entire menu was gluten free, and delicious. Vibe was hip / relaxed. Service had a minor oversight or two but we were so relaxed we cared absolutely 0% and everyone was super friendly about making it right and we ended up laughing about it. Totally coming back for a music event. Great venue - places like this are why I love Akron so much.

We stopped into Jilly's Music Room for brunch today and absolutely love this place! The fact that they are fully Gluten free is a huge plus so we do not need to worry about any ingredients in this restaurant. Highly recommend the monte cristo as it was full of flavor! The service was fantastic as always and we will definitely be coming back for brunch again.

Jilly's is a local spot known for live music in downtown Akron, and I was impressed with how pleasant and comfortable it was on my first visit there last month. It's cozy inside with plenty of seating close to the stage in the back, or up front at tables or at the bar. The lighting is great, it wasn't too loud, and the service was friendly. The show that night was free and the crowd was a mix of older and younger folks.

We came here last Friday around 6:30 because we were looking for a new place to try with an extensive gluten-free menu. Jilly's entire restaurant is gluten-free, which is awesome. When we arrived, they asked us to pay a cover, even though the band wasn't playing until 8pm. We left around 7:45 and asked if we could have the cover back since we never saw the show, and they did refund us, which I appreciated. We sat at the bar and ordered soft drinks - Jilly's doesn't carry straws, which I understand, but I still prefer my drinks with a straw. We ordered the fried cheese sticks, the chicken satay, the firecracker shrimp, and the garlic flatbread. The satay was very unimpressive. For $9, it was really small and so chargrilled that all we could taste was burnt. Even with the peanut coconut dipping sauce, the flavor was underwhelming. My husband said the shrimp was good but nothing he'd order again. The cheese sticks were really good - they only give you three, but they are large. The flatbread was the real star of the show. It was crispy, large, and really flavorful. My husband even called it "phenomenal" and he is quite the foodie. We got to hear the opening act warming up and agreed that we wished we had come later because they sounded really good! If you order your food before 7pm, they will also give you 20% off your Bill. We thought the flatbread was reasonably priced , but that the other dishes were a bit expensive if not for the discount. We will definitely come back because the menu was pretty large(even though they have cut it back due to COVID) and the music was good. I will bring my own straw next time!

Nice local joint. We came on a Saturday night and there was a jazz band playing which was very good. No cover fee. I wouldn't recommend the sliders as they are very lackluster for the price. HOWEVER, the flatbreads are delicious as is the popcorn. Nice ambiance and good service.

Rating: minus 10 Jilly, you've really let us down. Never had a complaint about he food, but the service is unbelievably bad. Starting with the support we gave you during the lockdown: you advertised opening time of 5pm was rarely met; one Saturday you weren't open till 5:30. Since you have no phone number to confirm opening, we had to drive to your place to see if you were open. Once, when we placed an online order at 4:30 and you DID open at 5, our food wasn't ready until 5:30, and I was the only customer in the joint. This Sunday (May 9) was the breaking point. We came with friends to the brunch; ordered our food at 12:26, and by 2:09 we still had no food. An hour and a half! And was there an offer to comp our drinks? Nada. If you you can't treat your customers right, don't open the doors. We're done.

Watching the local bad Layer Cake tonight!

I am writing to tell you about an incident at Goodyear Theatre on Friday, December 12, 2025. We are now boycotting Goodyear Theatre and our voices will be heard. We have loved Goodyear Theatre as the sound and the decor are superb and were in awe of the building. My husband John and I and another couple were supposed to have a wonderful evening out seeing Gerald Albright in concert. We had been looking forward to this concert for almost two months and it was an early Christmas present for me - a Christmas present which I will forever remember..... We had a wonderful dinner at an Akron restaurant and then went to the Goodyear Theater in Akron. Knowing we would be in the minority, the crowd mix was 98% Black and 2% White. I was absolutely fine with that as we were there to hear some great jazz saxophone. That is not what happened. During the warmup act, we had a black woman sitting directly behind my husband who first started talking on her cell phone in her ear-piercing voice, then switched to having a loud conversation with her friend, and then in addition to screaming to the drummer, who we believe she knew. My husband asked politely if she could be more quiet as we were there to enjoy the music. Not her. She refused... During the next hour all 4 of us put up with her shrill voice in our ears. Our friend is hard of hearing and he could hear everything four seats down. He told me he was just about to leave and uber home. My husband left his seat and went and spoke with the House Manager and the Akron Police officers stationed in the lobby. He was informed that there was nothing they could do except move us. "She had a right to talk" is what we kept being told. He was asking them to come and speak with her instead. They refused!!! Imagine that!!! We were quietly sitting in our seats, and only clapping when appropriate. and anxiously awaiting the main performer, Gerald Albright. We had excellent seats and every seat in front of us was taken so if they moved us it would have been a downgrade. Our tickets were very expensive, considering the venue. And we were not the obstruction. My husband decided to go back and endure. About another 30 minutes of her now calling him "MF'r Whitey", a lot of MF'ing him (over 50 times) and other very colorful names, and informing him that slavery had been abolished and she could do what she wanted, my husband had had enough of her absolutely shrill, loud, annoying ranting and he once again turned and asked her to please "shut the f*ck up" since that was the language that she seemed to be accustomed to. She was being so rude and had absolutely no common courtesy for others to enjoy the show. Well that ultimately brought several police, some bouncers and the same House Manager to our seats. All but the house manager were black and attitude was very present. At this point my husband was told he had 30 seconds to get up and leave or they would carry him out and arrest him! I asked the policeman, didn't we have a right to quiet enjoyment of the concert and all they could say was she had the "right to talk"! All 4 of us left the theatre and never saw Gerald Albright. I have a real problem with the Goodyear Theatre's 'no confrontation policy' and how they handled this situation. We are season tickets holders to Playhouse Square for over 15 years and this would have never happened there. A brief conversation from the Police to this woman to tone it down might have prevented what became a very racist event that didn't need to happen. I will NEVER be attending anything at the Goodyear Theatre ever again. Nor will I go to an event were I am in the minority as we were last night. Common courtesy and respect for fellow concert goers is non-existent at the Goodyear Theater. It is funny that their website contains "Guidelines and Etiquette" and states "We are happy to have you visit our venue. We hope that you take a wonderful memory with you from your experience. Please be aware of the other patrons around you and during the performance. Please turn off all noise-making devices. We also ask for you to keep talking to a minimum. " I guess the guidelines and etiquette code of conduct do not mention screaming, heckling nor yelling so it may not apply to this incident. Hmmmmm.... It seems society has now deteriorated to the point that we cannot respect our fellow man and instead need to be as rude as possible and do whatever the hell we want. Off duty officers should have to follow the policies of an organization, not just because of the color of our skin. This was not the experience at the Goodyear Theater. This event actually was reverse discrimination.... We need policies to change as this all could have been prevented with a simple conversation to the woman by staff.

I visited Lock 3 park over a weekend (20-21 July 2019) for the 38th annual African American Festival & Parade. I was working at a booth at the festival. I wish more advertisement was done for the festival because it wasn't that busy on Saturday but way more people came on Sunday. Apparently though, Saturdays tend to be a quieter day according to one of the festival organizers. There was no rain during the time I was there and so it was a warm day to be outside (it was actually very hot). The festival organisers had my team and another vendor under a big tent so I was happy to be under some shade even though it was still very hot. LOCK 3 PARK -- This is a family friendly outdoor park that hosts events as well. There is a stage where different performers entertain. The park is a medium sized park so it isn't big. There are some benches to sit at around the park. A canal lock is used to raise and lower boats. Lock 3 sots on the Ohio-Erie Canal which is the waterway that flows into to Lake Erie. I don't known if this lock device is used anymore but I have a photo of the canal in my attached pictures. LOCATION -- As I stated earlier, this park is in downtown Akron. There is currently so much construction happening on S. Main Street that parking and finding a way to enter the park can be challenging especially if you don't live in Akron. Thankfully, I was dropped off both on Saturday and Sunday. Overall, this is a nice outdoor space. Swings and maybe a small playground would be a nice addition for kids. Also, a shaded canopy or covering would be great for hot days outside. **** - 98 total reviews in 2019 - 307 total Yelp reviews - Reviewed on 22 July 2019
