I came here for the vegan pierogi btw and had no idea that it was in a very queer area with queer vibes which was such a nice surprise! I would also like to say that I am very impressed by how vegan forward Cleveland is. Idk why I wasn't expecting it. It was early enough that I could benefit from more caffeine so I was pleased to see a coffee-esque cocktail with vodka. GF ordered the sangria. I embarrassed myself a lil by assuming the three pierogi could be mix and match which they cannot. We wanted the classic potato and cheese but also wanted to try one of the vegan ones so went with the sweet potato and black bean. I was further thrown for a loop when I was asked what sauces I want. Oh my god there are sauces to choose from?!? Did I even read the menu? The bartender threw out some options I couldn't argue with: sriracha something creamy maybe sour cream or mayo? and French onion which was intriguing. Both were SO good. Another Pierogi week stop. We walked in and just hung out with another couple waiting to be sat. We still hadn't gotten help by any staff in the front room. The couple were talking with told us to try the help yourself area in a covered outside picnic tables. We did find an area to sit. One of the waiters wiped down the table and greeted us. The kitchen was super busy, so we were waiting a bit for our food. The makeshift gluten free Ham and Cheese was solid. The marinara sauce that came on the side was an excellent touch. I would have preferred it warm with the Ham and Cheese which was warm. It was nice to have a place to sit, but I will say that outside was having a tough time competing with the heater. It would hot, I'd take my coat off and then it got chilly. Pierogi week really makes the menu small. I would love to return and experience the whole menu and sit inside in a more stable climate. Mild issue, I was trying to connect to the wi-fi and the option on the flyer on the table wasn't available. Good not great experience here. What staff we interacted with was very helpful and nice. Appetizers and food were good. Not that I'd wish smaller crowds on a business but I feel if we could get an inside seat, we'd have a better than good experience. read more

Good pierogis with mediocre service and OK ambiance. I recently went here with a friend on a weekend for the pierogis as we had seen they were recommended and they did not disappoint. We got the potato with cheese and the buffalo pierogis, both of which were good. I loved how we had the choice of many different dipping sauces for the pierogies, including buffalo sauce, sour cream, sriracha sour cream, and mustard. I also liked the innovation with the buffalo pierogies. However, despite not being busy, the pierogis took a long time to come. Jukebox comes across as a dark dive bar (which is great), but does not fit the vibe for a sunny, hot summer day. I would recommend Jukebox for a beer and pierogies for an NFL game day in the fall or winter. read more

I visited jukebox during pierogi week with some friends. We came on a Saturday evening with a party of seven, and they were able to seat us relatively quickly in the large tent outside, despite it being very crowded. (Please note that while technically outdoors, it did not feel like it at all, and the temperature was warm and comfortable.) Now for the pierogies. We tried the potato cheese, spicy chicken, and chili cheese fry pierogies. They all came with a side of applesauce and sour cream. Overall, I thought the pierogies were delicious and on the larger side. My personal favorite was a potato and cheese cause you can't beat a classic, but the other ones were delicious as well. We also got the buffalo dip with tortilla chips, which was yummy. I additionally got a side of kielbasa, and honestly, I was blown away by how delicious it was. It was so juicy and tender and well seasoned, I definitely wish I had ordered more. For drinks, my friends and I got an assortment of beers and ciders, which were all very reasonably priced between 5 to 6 dollars. I got the black widow cider, which I highly recommend. Overall, service was excellent, food was delicious, drinks were cheap, and vibes are immaculate. This was my first time at Jukebox and when I walked in I was very excited. The staff was extremely nice to us and we went for pierogis as it is pierogi week. Upon walking in, it was fairly crowded, but nothing too crazy. We did not want to sit down and order as we had obligations we had to get home for, so we asked if we could order to go instead. We were told no problem. We proceeded to order 3 orders of pierogis and were told it would be about 15 minutes. The staff even offered us water while we waited. About 25 minutes later, we still had not received the food, so a member of our party went to the bar to check on the food. We were then told it would soon be ready. About 10 minutes later, we were still without pierogis, so another member of our party went to check again. Upon checking this time, we were told it would be another 15-20 minutes - the same amount of time we were told at the beginning, which was 35 minutes prior at this point. I told the employee we could not wait another 20 minutes due to our prior obligations, and he said we could either get a refund or come back in 20 minutes and it would for sure be ready then. We decided for the refund as we had not other option, but overall this was extremely disappointing that we were left pierogiless on pierogi week! I appreciate that we got a refund and understand mistakes happen, but it's outrageous that 20 minutes after our food was supposed to be ready, we were told the original time was still how long. I will need some time before I go back to Jukebox, but the staff was all around very nice. read more

Great prices and great food! Pierogies and drinks - name a better combo. I appreciated the several unique and fun filling options for pierogies they had, many of which were vegetarian or vegan. I tried the buffalo chickpea and mushroom ones. Both were good, but I preferred the chickpea one, which was more flavorful. The sauces made it though - my favorites were the creamy dill and sriracha sour cream. The brussel sprouts were delicious and perfectly roasted. I was in the Cleveland area for work and happened upon Jukebox just by searching "vegan" in the area. The area itself is awesome--such a cool neighborhood. The people were so sweet. Sitting on the bar out front of the restaurant, I met several incredibly nice people. And that's not even touching on the food. The sweet potato black bean pierogis were amazing, and all the vegan dipping sauces were delicious. Food and service is always top notch here. I love the joke box for listening to music rather than the new high tech digital ones that you can use your phone to play music and jump ahead of others selections. Great vegan and veggie options as well as carnivore. For those who don't know they have a large back patio and it even has a tent and heaters for early spring. Old style kielbasa was done to perfection, tender and tasty. We also got the pimento dip (Kentucky Derby eat your heart out). It was served with crackers, pickled onions and Jalopeno discs. Wed 8pm music trivia is great fun. My ginger miso salad was super healthy and fresh and had plenty of delicious fresh ingredients and flavor. The pickled onions were great too! The tamari marinated egg was super flavorful and a great addition to the salad. The hot toddy was unique and the Tonyrita had a slight hint of spice with the choice of house jalapeño tequila for an extra buck. This place has the appearance of a dive bar, and it is, sort of. There's a small bar inside with several tables that allow for people to eat as well as drink. The cocktail and beer selection is a good one. They're going for eclectic and creative with a few staples that everyone can enjoy. The menu is small, but they are going for signature dishes. I had an order of and my husband had a burger. The pierogi had three on the plate, so I would definitely suggest ordering at least two plates in order to satisfy for a full meal. I had the Southwest sweet potato and it was pretty decent. Not outstanding, what I expected. They have some beautiful as well as traditional. My husband loved his burger, it looked really good. We did not opt for dessert, as it was getting late by the time we wrapped up. There's a large patio out back which you wouldn't know what existed unless you went looking for it. I would wager that the outdoor space is the same size as the indoor dining area There's a small staff holding down fort, bring a little extra patience. Quick dinner snack for wife and I. Wanted some authentic pierogis and Jukebox was nearby. Ordered potato cheese pierogis online with added kielbasa and kraut. Definitely hit the spot and authentic per our experiences. Gnar gnar (spicy kraut) had a great spice and flavor. Recommend adding sides of mustard for kielbasa, and sour cream for pierogis (applesauce is popular for many as well). Forgot to ask for plastic ware so add that note if needed. Cheers! read more

My husband and I were traveling from out of town, and decided to attend trivia night. It was the most fun we've had in a long time. Tip: you do need to call ahead to make a reservation. Went here for a Birthday Party. Place is small. We were on the back patio, they had a small problem getting lights to turn on. There was enough light from everything else that wasn't a big issue. The perogies were delicious. I had the potato and cheese and the sweet potato and black bean. Its been a hot minute since I had a hand made perogie. The potato and cheese were your basic perogies, good amount of filling, and pan fried with onion. The sweet potato and black bean were interesting. They had a slight spice to them, like a tad of heat, but not overwhelming. I enjoyed them. this is the first one star review i've ever written for service at a sit down restaurant. i came with my partner tonight and we tried to each order two orders of pierogis, and our waitress talked us out of it and said to only get one. we listened, and then needed to place another order in. okay, not a big deal right? well then we had to wait over an hour for two orders (6 pieces) of pierogis. we were repeatedly told they were coming right out, when that was obviously not the case. about 10 minutes before they came, after an hour of waiting, she brought us a bag of popcorn to thank us for waiting. she repeatedly checked on the other servers table but did not check on us. i am a former server so i am not speaking on this without experience. a wedding party did come in after we ordered, but they had a reserved space so i'm not sure why they were so unprepared. multiple tables who came in after we placed our second order were able to get their food, eat, and pay before us. my partner had to get cash out of the car so we could leave because she never came back to check on us/cash us out. the food was fine, but after spending nearly two hours here just to eat six pierogis i could never recommend this place. read more

I think it's important to have a safe, comfortable environment in these times. At Jukebox gives that to you. Checking guest temperatures, sanitation stations everywhere. Proper distancing of tables. And no indoor dining despite statewide lifts to be able to do so. The pierogis were better than I thought. You can taste the authenticity in them and I'd drive another hour for them if I had to! I came here on October 1st, 2018 for their "plate night" event which is when the restaurant serves a themed 3-course dinner with dessert and wine. I almost forgot that dinner also includes a starter wine to taste which is a super small sample and a starter bite to eat which is a really small appetizer. In the menu from my photos, these are labeled as AMUSE which is essentially French for a starter. My friend Susan invited me along with some other people and I'm glad I came. The food was absolutely fantastic. FOOD -- The 1st course was Jambalaya. It had chicken, shrimp, rice, tomatoes, and green onions. This was very delicious and full of flavour. This was a small plate but a very hearty starter. The 2nd course was a salad called the Lake Erie Po' Boy Salad which came with blackened walleye fish, baby tomatoes, croutons, greens (I think Spinach and Spring Mix), Onions, and a vinaigrette dressing. The fish really made this salad taste so good. I really enjoyed it and this was an almost medium-sized plate. The 3rd course was a sandwich which was the biggest meal of the night. The bread was from the local Cleveland bread shop "On the Rise" and it was my first time trying their bread. The bread was super soft and so good. The sandwich had ham, salami, cheese, and some sort of olive oil dressing or spices. It was served with chips and a pickle. I hardly eat ham, beef, or bacon actually but I decided to still eat this sandwich. At this point, I was a bit full so I only managed to eat half the sandwich. The dessert was bread pudding (Bourbon Caramel Bread Pudding). It was made by one of the chef's and it definitely satisfied everyone's sweet cravings. YUMMY. SERVICE -- Every meal was served with a half-cup of wine. I don't drink at all but I still tried the wines that they served. Look through my photos to see the wines that we were served along with the full menu. Between each meal, a lady would stop by the table to explain where each bottle of wine came from. I believe she is a sommelier (wine Professional) but I can't be certain. Throughout the dinner there were also 2 servers who would stop at the table to check on how we all were doing. We got water refills too. The owner of the restaurant (or manager) even stopped by at some point to say hi. I absolutely loved the service and how we all were treated. OTHER - They also have a Vegan night on the first Wednesdays of each month. There is one more Vegan night remaining for the year (2018) and that is on December 5th. I recommend a plate night event at the Juxebox for fresh food made locally by the staff and exceptional service. P.S. I was not going to sign up originally because $30 to me was too much to pay for dinner but considering all the food we got to eat, I decided to go for it. I never spend a lot of money on dinner so this was just a nice treat to myself. If you are hesitant about spending alot on one night, I say just go for it. You won't regret it. The menu has fresh takes on classic apps, sandwiches, & typical bar fare. Jukebox is known for their handmade (that's right, they make them in house!) pierogi. They offer the classics (potato & cheese) to the non-traditional (buffalo chickpea anyone?). I tried the spicy chicken pierogi and loved them! Although they're different, they do not completely depart from the classic with staple ingredients like caramelized onion & cheese alongside rogue chicken and black beans. REALLY GOOD pierogi, I came on Saturday 3-05-22 in the afternoon for a Togo order. The cauliflower Buffalo chicken pierogi actually taste like real chicken, which is a good thing. The area around Saint Malachi Church (Historic Irish Roman Catholic Parish) west 25th and Detroit has really come back. This area is just a five minute walk from the West Side Market. I found this place on Yelp and then was also recommended to check it out by a bartender at another Prosperity Social Social club and while here on Cleveland I have to say it was probably my favorite place all thanks to the. Hill vibe and people that worked there (and also the best pierogies bit more on that later). The bartender John was super nice and made it a fun place to be, as were the local patrons that frequented the place. Good selection of local beers, all which I really enjoyed. Okay, the pierogies. OMG. Pierogies are my favorite food as I am part Ukrainian, and very surprisingly, the original potato and farmers cheese pierogies I had here were my favorite from the trip - seriously. They reminded me of the pierogies we'd make homemade growing up. I could've devoured way more but held myself to he 3 I was served with an order.
