Amazing power hour and HH deals from Humble Wine Bar. Some cocktails are only $5 and there was even a $2 beer on the menu. Cheese plates for $10 and $2 off any pizza during HH as well. We got the $5 espresso martini and a strawberry gin & tonic. Both were tasty but the espresso martini definitely won out. We also ordered a chorizo & egg pizza and it was the perfect size to share between two people and the egg was even a bit runny. Great flavor, lots of cheese but nothing too heavy, crust was not overly thin or thick, just the right amount of dough to topping ratio -- I really enjoyed this pizza. Staff was super friendly and quick to help us, as well as consistently coming around to check on us for refills or questions. It wasn't busy during power hour the day we went, so the place was fairly quiet, but they do have a good amount of seating should there be a crowd. One of our favorites!!! Happy hour has the best deal, but if you're going to share a pizza and just have a glass of wine it's not badly priced. We recently rented Humble Wine Bar for my daughter's baby shower. The experience, staff, and space were amazing! The staff were so attentive and responsive to us and our guests. We truly didn't have to worry about anything! The food was a hit and exactly what we were looking for a Saturday morning shower. I have been looking forward to coming here since I moved to Cleveland. It was delicious and so worth the money, especially during Happy Hour. My friend and I got the Spinach and Brie Pizza and the Sangria. They were both amazing selections. We came in pretty early at 5pm on a weekday but by the time we left, it was PACKED so be careful about that whenever you are planning to visit. Grace, the events coordinator was super helpful and quick on responding to our *many* questions up to the big day. The staff were super attentive for the event and let us in early to set up for a small fee. We coordinated with a couple of other vendors as well, such as Poppin Cleveland, the Confectionary Cupboard and One Apron Bakery for decor and bakery items. Since it was also NBA Allstar weekend, it was very hard to find vendors, but Humble answered us quickly and provided all the necessary details (we booked in mid November and everything was pretty booked! We luckily found our first choice) The flat breads and appetizers were great. The mimosa bar was also very pretty. I truly love this place. Sitting at the bar watching pizza being made, enjoying the pizza fire and wine. They have one tv but it is never one so no distractions, all my attention is on my company. I've been in the industry for 46 years, front & back of the house; all aspects of the industry; including a chef in San Diego for ten years, managed a few clubs, plus catering. I understand service and know what's acceptable and what's not. I moved back to Ohio six years ago and discovered Humble Wine Bar; at the time, a young bartender was studying to be a sommelier (her name eludes me at this time). Service was always top notch & the food was good. Lately, it's hit or miss. I like to sit at the bar in front of the wood-stoked oven. Usually, I order the three-cheese selection with assorted nuts, & crackers, but once in a while order the pizza. An African-American man usually is in charge of the pizza oven and does a phenomenal job. Tonight, I walked in at about 5:50 pm, about 10 minutes before Happy Hour was to end. It took the bartender more than a few minutes to approach me. I asked her if I could still get in at the Happy Hour & pizza price (at this time, it was 5:57 pm). She said yes, so I ordered a Cabernet & the brie/spinach pizza. A young girl was working the pizza oven & I watched her. The place was busy & as she was cutting 3-4 pizzas at a time, my (brie/spinach) pizza was sitting near the front of the oven (because it was done baking) but getting increasingly darker by the minute. I had a nail appt. next door & feared getting an overly done pizza & not being afforded the time to send it back. That's precisely what happened when it arrived. I couldn't even slice it with my knife it was so hard. I ate what I could & took the rest home, hoping to salvage it. Sarah, the bartender, was pleasant enough, but when my bill came, she charged me the total price for the pizza, even though it was Happy Hour & I had mentioned it to her when I ordered it. I called it to her attention & she adjusted my check. Sad to say, what "used" to be one of my favorite places is becoming a disappointment.
