This was our first try at Olinda which happens to be very close to our home. It's a modern American restaurant that is aesthetically pleasing to the eye and automatically gives a trendy vibe with decor, a changing framed monitor that depicts colorful artwork and art-deco lighting elements. The quality and shape of the menu's really surprised me compared to Gervasi's other locations as that were kind of beat up. We arrived exactly at our reservation time and were greeted and taken directly to our table. We were warmly welcomed by Taylor on this Mother's Day and told about a potential delay. This was the best thing that our server could have done as we knew the expectations. I could mention negative feedback, but I will not as Taylor personally performed service recovery by herself and took it upon to keep us informed Which was greatly appreciated. Kindness goes a long way and typically I would give a step by step synopsis but because of this one young lady we will be returning to Olinda and standing strong by making this location successful as it can possibly be. As for the Warm Butter Cake. It is the BEST darn thing that I have ever had for a dessert as it beats out my favorite Ooey Gooey Butter Cake in St Louis and one famous cake served in Columbus. I would hire Taylor in a heartbeat and that statement should stick with the Olinda management. 1st time trying to celebrate a birthday. Busy Friday night and waited 45 minutes past our reservation to be seated. The manager, Ariel walked us to the table, apologized, and had 4 different appetizers hot and ready for us for the wait within 30 seconds of seating for having to wait. All of which were tasty. Our server, Rhyan was on his game and was a great server. Very attentive and good vibe. Everyone was happy with their food. A disappointing start resulted in such a strong finish. A great First Impression Worth Revisiting soon! We went to Olinda with some friends to check out this new addition to GV restaurant group, and overall it was a really pleasant experience across the board. The staff was amazing and the food was genuinely great. My one minor note, the risotto was a bit undercooked for my liking, though the flavor was fantastic. Honestly, I think that's just the new restaurant feeling they're still finding rhythm, and I wouldn't hold it against them at all. Here's my biggest takeaway: load up on appetizers and skip straight past the entrees. The variety, the portion sizes, the flavors!!! I was a huge fan of their fries, and not greasy at all. We split several apps and entrees trying to cover the menu, and in hindsight I'd go all-in on the starters next visit. The sauerkraut balls are some of my favorites I've had in a long time...ordering those again. We also tried the goat cheese cigar rolls, which were tasty, though a little heavy on the cheese for my taste. That said, if goat cheese is your thing, don't skip them. Wow, this place was awesome! So huge on the inside now that they've combined the the brewery into the space. Modern upscale decor gives the place a very posh feel. We went for brunch and we were not disappointed. Lots of options and that cinnamon roll is absolutely divine. Definitely get it if you're sharing with a group. Because it is huge! The portions are large, so you get what you pay for. My husband and I split a mimosa flight and we were surprised about how much we liked the watermelon one (I tend not to like watermelon flavored drinks). My favorite was the cranberry. The bar does a really nice job with their menu as well and they incorporate lots of local liquors, especially their own on-property homemade spirits. I can't wait to go back and try Olinda's for dinner. The only negative to my particular dish was there was a little square plastic bread bag tie on my plate. Kind of gross but didn't ruin the meal. That's the only reason for the four stars instead of five. read more

This was our second visit to Olinda. We first visited shortly after they opened and experienced some issues, which was understandable for a new restaurant finding its footing. We went last night with a party of nine, hoping those early kinks had been worked out. There are definitely some positives. We were seated quickly, the staff was friendly and helpful throughout the evening, and the property itself is beautiful. The décor and atmosphere create a great dining experience and the restaurant feels upscale without being stuffy. The appetizers were the highlight of the meal. The stuffed mushrooms, goat cheese cigars and wings were all excellent. The Sloppy Joe appetizer was decent, but not quite on the same level as the others. Unfortunately, things went downhill with the drinks and entrees. I ordered a dirty martini and was disappointed from the first sip. It tasted like there was almost no olive brine and what seemed to be a fruity vodka. The staff remade it, but the replacement wasn't any better. After speaking with the bar staff, it became clear the issue was likely coming from the olives themselves and the way they're stored with the other cocktail garnishes. The blue cheese olives were store-bought rather than hand-stuffed and had picked up a fruity flavor and smell that completely changed the drink. When cocktails are priced at a premium level, details like that matter. My entrée was a chicken dish with a sauce that honestly tasted like it had cocoa powder mixed into it. It was not enjoyable. The fried potatoes were excellent, but the broccolini was disappointing. Looking around the table, no one in our group seemed particularly impressed with their meal. Nothing was terrible, but there wasn't a single entrée that had people talking about coming back for it. What makes this especially disappointing is that this is a Gervasi property. We've had fantastic experiences at their other restaurants and came in expecting that same level of quality. The setting, service and appetizers were all solid, but with underwhelming cocktails and mediocre entrees, the overall experience fell short of expectations. Olinda is a beautiful restaurant with a lot of potential, but with so many great options around, we don't see ourselves returning anytime soon. read more

I attended soft opening for Olinda, the highly anticipated new restaurant by Gervasi Destinations! The expectations of a luxe, highly curated, gorgeous environment were definitely met. The space is gorgeous! One side features dining tables, while the other is their pours bar. Their wine, cocktail, and pours list is sure to have something for everyone! The menu has both simple items for the pickiest of eaters (everyone likes a good burger and fries right?!), but also has varying unique items too! Everything I tried was delicious! My order: -Seasonal Sangria -Olinda Butter Rolls; These came with Lavender Honey Butter which I was skeptical about at first, but the lavender wasn't overpowering at all. The Rolls were warm and moist - highly recommend! -Pecorino Chicken; The flavors worked together so nice and the breading stayed on the chicken, so good! -Warm Butter Cake; this was perfect and a must order! For being in their soft opening, service ran very smooth and perfectly timed between courses! Service was friendly. Check this place out! We needed a quick, delicious meal this evening about 5:30 pm. We also wanted something close to where we were shopping. Olinda close to Buehler's was a GREAT choice. Apparently they've been open 3 months. A spacious, and attractive place - same owners as Twisted Olive. Great new option for Stark County! We ate at the bar because the tables were all booked until 7:15 pm and we needed food sooner. Doug the bartender was kind, quick, and pleasant. We both had a delicious glass of white wine: Ciao Bella We ordered the hamburger and it was SOOO good. Hit the spot. Instead of fries I had another option for the side - a feta and tomato salad (also has small slices of red onion in it and a yummy marinade). Fresh and different. We paid the bill, said goodbye to Doug, and we were on our way. We'll be back again when we're in town. read more

Excellent Experience! Went at 4:00 on a Monday for dinner. Tables were 75% full by 5:00. Great crowd on a Monday! The decoder and ambiance were beautiful and eclectic. Very well done. The food and service did not disappoint. We had an a signature cocktail, appetizer, meal, and dessert and never felt rushed by the server. The veggie crispy rice was very tasty and unique. We had the Shrimp Risotto and the Pecorino Chicken with roasted redskins and broccolini. Both were excellent. Chocolate chip cookie with ice cream for dessert. Definitely a welcomed dining experience that our area will support. read more

My family and I was disappointed with the food we ordered. It needs to improve. The only thing we enjoy d was the appetizer. The tartar and the one with the Corn. Our drinks was too strong also. We had a 6 pm reservation and they seated us 10 minutes early. Service was excellent. They have a gluten free menu and fantastic gluten free rolls. We had the feta cucumber salad. It was 60% feta, 15% tomatoes, 15% cucumbers and 10% onion. We both had the blacked chicken sandwich and fries. The chicken tasted like charcoal not blackened and the fries were cold and too crispy. We hope they can work out there issues. Will try again. read more

Went on a Thursday evening. The place is beautiful, music not too loud. Appetizers were delicious. Shrimp Risotto was lovely, person who ordered it thought it great. The lobster toasted cheese sandwiches were not served hot, but tasted ok. They were a little on the greasy side as well. I think it's odd for a restaurant of this caliber to have the bathrooms in sight of some of the tables. You could see the toilet in the ladies room when women went in and out. We had the ceviche as an appetizer, tried the pineapple cooler as a drink (na), enjoyed the halibut and the steak frites for entrees and shared the warm butter cake for dessert. First- the staff was all great, especially since they were working on Easter. The restaurant was about half full when we arrived. Tammy, our server was very attentive and explained the specials, etc. Two of our party ordered pork chop, one sandwich and one salmon. The pork chops were both overcooked, the salmon was adequate, but the sandwich got rave reviews. Waiting for the patio open and will probably give it another shot then. But I think we'll stick to the sandwich menu. read more

As you would expect the property was very nicely done. Had the Sunday brunch and found the food to be very good. it was large enough that we had to take half home. I asked for some extra Au juice for my sandwichI and flavored butter got our $9 loaf of bread, I was told it would be an extra charge I was charged the service fee on my debit card even though their no cash policy indicated they didn't do that on debit cards. After reading the policy, I found that it was my responsibility to tell the server that she was using my debit card. The next we want a Gervasi dining we will just go to the Twisted Olive or the vineyard I called to share my opinion with then, as usual, voice mail. I never received a response. read more

I asked what reservation times they had available and was told 3pm and 3:15pm was all they had left for today. Woman on the phone said we could walk in and see what their wait time is. We showed up later around 4:30pm and was told by the front desk they had nothing available until after 7pm. Which is odd when I was originally told all reservations were taken except 3pm and 3:15pm today. Tried mentioning we called and was told they had walk in tables. I had dinner there the other evening with a group of friends. Our server was extremely friendly! We each ordered something different for dinner and we all thought the food was just average. The lobster sandwich was greasy, salads were nothing special. The thing that was the most awkward was that they turned the lights up as if they were closing around 8:45, started vacuuming and cleaning up while there were still many people sitting at the bar and tables. People were looking around, probably wondering if they wanted to close, although the posted hours are till 10pm. Don't think we will be returning anytime soon. It was awkward. read more
