This was our second visit to Club Prive and my wife and I were celebrating our 23rd Wedding…read moreAnniversary for dinner. Since the last time I couldn't stop thinking about the Lobster Bisque and unfortunately this visit something changed with the recipe or preparation. So this most likely changed my entire perception of everything, but there is one thing that my wife and agreed on and that was the complimentary bread. It had no flavor and tasted dry and stale at room temperature and what ruined it was ice-cold unsalted butter. My salad house salad was okay and the white French dressing was just okay. My wife enjoyed her Caesar Salad. Our appetizer was the highlight of the evening as their version of Bang Bang Shrimp was AMAZING enveloped in filo pastry with a cheese mixture inside that surprised us. The dipping sauce wasn't even needed. My wife enjoyed her Surf and Turf. My Ribeye was more on the rare side which I ordered Med Rare so I took 75% home with me and just cooked it. Because dessert for us. We were impressed that they offered us complimentary Prosecco which added a nice touch. We had great service and impressed that the owner once again came over to our table to check on us multiple times. I'm unsure what happened to that outstanding Lobster Bisque!!!!

We were promptly seated at a private table with a private bar at a high top with VERY comfortable leather chairs. This is a small farm to fork (table) VERY UPSCALE ESTABLISHMENT! Casual attire not black tie. You WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!! The menu changes seasonally as produce becomes available. 3 people ordered (done to their liking) the strip steak, which has it's own menu listing various sauces, seasoning, and sides as choices. 1 ordered the beef cheeks (after hearing the WONDERFUL waiter's description) 1 chose the stuffed chicken, 1 chose the trout, & 1 chose the walleye. ALL WERE MAGNIFICENT & EXPERTLY PRESENTED. We all skipped the appetizers in anticipation of dessert!! AFTER DINNER 4 chose the Meyer Lemon Crème Brûlée, 2 chose to share a plain cheesecake slice, 1 chose the Oil Cake, & 1 chose the Smoked S'mores which is a DIVINELY DELICIOUS AND OVER THE TOP PRESENTATION! THIS RESTAURANT NEVER DISAPPOINTS!!! The wait staff was quick to explain anything, top notch service ALL AROUND!!

Well, last week I re-visited my favorite restaurant in celebration for our daughter passing a…read morecertification exam. We started with the Bread Service which was a wonderful contrast to our last visit of the red cornbread. It wasn't a typical Focaccia as it was a crusty mini bread loaf topped with a sea salt I believe. The butter seemed standard noting it was listed as cultured sea salt butter;however the Housemade Ricotta, Strawberry Red Pepper Jam in the mini jar was spectacular. I didn't find any notes of strawberries but it had cherry tomatoes, whole garlic and olive oil in it. We weren't asked for our drinks request so we stuck with water(small oversight). Interestingly, our server came back to our table and said that she didn't have the beer available that I wanted. First, I never ordered a beer and not asked and second, I don't drink. So now, our appetizers arrive. The Carolina Squash Blossom was okay, but I'll pass as the crunchy texture was odd and there wasn't much blue crab present. The Calamari Fritti was definitely not popular with my family. The dish included Jimmy Red Corn Meal Dusted Crisp Calamari & Fried Green Tomatoes, Crumbled Goat Cheese, Crisp Ramps, Calabrian Chili-Sorghum Aioli. Despite the appealing ingredients the dish really lacked seasoning and salt. My grilled 16 oz bone in pork chop came pre-sliced which I've never had done with a pork chop but plated well. It came with purple cabbage purée and a sweet and sour root vegetable that tasted just like mashed sweet potatoes. The dish included ramps that seemed fried but really not edible. The application of this wild leek didn't seem to fit the dish as it was very coarse. My wife enjoyed her New York Strip Steak topped with Rock Lobster and a side of Gnocchi & Parmesan Crème. My college daughter ordered the New York Strip Steak also but her was extremely over salted. They re-fired a slightly smaller steak and that came out perfect and delivered by the Chef apologizing. Service recovery goes a long way and they redeemed themselves with dessert. Thanks for converting my opinion as 50% of my review and experience is based on service and or service recovery. We will be back definitely.
