Visited my funemployed friend here for lunch at a time when I was craving fast casual Indian food, and wouldn't you know it--this hit the spot. We shared the Chicken Tikka Roll for two, which clocked in at $15 total for two hefty wraps of juicy chicken tikka masala cubes combined with parathas, pickle, yoghurt, and mayo. And though that was more than enough, I also tried the Vada Paav, one of my favorite Indian street snacks. How can you go wrong with a friend potato sandwich topped with green chutney? It's proof that God exists, and he speaks Hindi. The potato fritter here was perfectly crisp and starchy, and the accompanying green chutney was spot on. Not to mention, the bread was pillowy soft. Mmmm, Indian foodgasm. We indulged in dessert with the Ras Malai, which had the right flavor but was too hard from being in the fridge (think they're pre-made). The Mango Lassi was refreshingly sweet and tart, though.

New Indian street-food vibes have arrived in Exchange Place, and I'm here for it! This cozy spot seats around a dozen guests and bursts with personality -- from a vibrant doodle wall of Mumbai's iconic landmarks to two self-order kiosks that make ordering quick and easy. Our food arrived in no time, adding to the smooth experience. Here's what we had: Samosa Pav ($6): Decent, but nothing standout. Dabeli ($6): Packed with flavor and very satisfying. Veggie Pattie Meal ($11): Burger with fries and a soft drink (pre-chilled in the fridge). We requested masala fries instead of plain -- and they gladly obliged. Jal Jeera Lemonade: Refreshing idea, but the taste was just okay. Paneer Bao Bun ($7): The star of the night! Generous paneer filling, bold flavors, and a definite must-order. Prices lean a little high for a quick-serve spot considering the food portion/size, but the flavors and experience make it worth a visit, especially when those street-food cravings kick in.

Came here for a quick lunch and this place was amazing! It's perfect for to-go food. The kati rolls are incredibly amazing! I really like that they make them with parathas instead of naan. The menu is very friendly towards vegetarians and you won't miss the meat at all. The other thing I want to give them extra credit for is because they made Sevi. Most Indian restaurants make kheer (rice pudding). However, for me the vermicelli pudding by far is my favorite. IG: QueenOfAdventureNYC

Wanted to grab a "late lunch" of sorts before our evening paint session in NYC, so stumbled across this place for a 4pm bite. The options were plentiful, but my mind was laser focused on the kati rolls. Kati rolls are one of my favorite Indian snacks.... more than anything honestly. Knowing that my friends at the infamous NYC location are my all-time favorite, I wanted to see how this fared in comparison. So first thing first, you order via a kiosk and the food can come through pretty quickly. For me, I was the only one, so... yeah lol. I ordered 2 Paneer Tikka Rolls. This is the closest thing to my favorite Achari Paneer rolls. Of course, you can't have every ingredient match, but this sufficed. So at $8/kati roll, it's similar priced (if not more?) than the Kati Roll Company. The rolls itself.... were not that bad. They got the paneer marinated properly. Maybe a little too much yogurt here and there, but I think it's damn close. The rolls itself aren't as crispy as Kati Roll Company. It can leak out a bit at the end, but the flavor is there. 2 rolls are more than plenty. I ordered the mango lassi. It was kinda mediocre in my opinion, but it was the best alternative for me at the moment, since I got my coffee fix in the morning. This would do. The interior looks pretty nice and definitely a good amount of seating. Figure most grab and go anyways.

Modern and clean fast casual restaurant for tasty Indian street bites. Place your order on one of the self-ordering kiosks and then wait for your number to be called to pick-up your food. The dishes looked small at first but were actually pretty filling! I tried the tikka paneer roll and the dabeli, both which were very flavorful and spiced perfectly. The chai was also great to enjoy with the meal.

Call it Indian fast food. The small place is very interesting. You come in and order via a kiosk. The fare is mainly kathi rolls and there's a good variety to choose from. I had the paneer haryali roll and the masala aloo roll. Both were very tasty. I think the paneer roll was slightly better, but both were tasty. I'm definitely coming back to try some more.

Really nice. Good food, quick service and fun decor. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I had the butter chicken bao buns and samosa paav. They tasted very good.

After an hour of waiting for our food, the three tables around us who arrived after us already got their food and were nearly done with their meal. We ask about this twice, and each time the owner says all three tables "pre-ordered" their food. I was confused and asked every table if this was true and obviously it was not. Before leaving, we confront the owner about the inconsistencies in his story, but he just double downs on his lie, alleging that we don't understand how a restaurant is run. For some reason, he even started to yell at the busgirl who was trying to get him to apologize? In addition to holding us hostage for an hour and continued lying, he tries to make the racist point that Indian food is more sophisticated and takes longer to prepare than other types of Asian food. I feel there are certain standards in the NYC service industry given the competition, and this was a confusing and unacceptable experience. The food was admittedly good, but not good enough for them to have the attitude they had.

However, we never really got to it, having been busy exploring the Semmas and Bungalows of the city. On a cold Saturday evening my partner and I decided to give Indian Accent a shot - got rather last minute reservations over the phone. They were kind enough to accommodate us for a 7 pm slot, and once we got there we were seated immediately. We chose the four course menu, and found each course to be better than the one before! The shorba (soup) and garlic kulcha amuse bouche was a nice touch to get things started - loved the tiny terracotta mugs. Proceeded onto the shakarkandi chaat and the chilly pork roti - the former reminding me of the delectable street food in Delhi winters with the latter being a very good Indian rif on birria tacos. The star of the show for me was the Tofu medu vada - so unique and flavorful and melt in the mouth! I've not had anything quite like it before. My partner had the wagyu kebab that he said was excellent! For mains we had the chicken malai and the paneer - both tasty, but by this point we were already so full, and had to get most of the mains to go. But because there's always room for dessert, for our final course we scarfed down doda barfi with ice-cream and sticky toffee banana pudding - both of which were finger licking delish! Our service was great too - Ty our server was so nice and had the best recommendations. I'd have never gone for the tofu medu vada among all the other options and he urged me to, and it really turned out to be the highlight of my meal. The cocktails were good too. All in all, I think this is such a nice upscale Indian dining spot for a night out in the city. Having tried most of the other trending newer spots, i think Indian Accent sits right among the top! I believe there are other Indian Accent locations in India, and was excited to try their NYC spot. We went on a weekend evening around 5pm and had a really enjoyable experience overall. Nice ambiance inside, didn't feel overly packed where we were sitting. Service was great for the most part. Shane, our main server, stood out and he was SUPER helpful in walking us through the menu and making thoughtful suggestions. That said, it's definitely a team-service setup, so multiple staff members will assist your table throughout the meal. Everyone had great energy and made the experience feel polished. We did the prix fixe menu and went with 3 courses each across our group of 3. Two of us opted for the "midis" and one went for dessert, but we ended up sharing everything. Even though the portions initially seem small, we were surprisingly full by the end. One important note: go into this with an open mindset. This is not your typical, "generic" Indian food experience - it's much more modern, creative, and experimental. We did a lot of research before deciding what to order, so here's what we got/ordered: Amuse bouche (complimentary): A pumpkin shorba (soup) served in a cute little cup and blue cheese naan. Both were a great start, and we actually asked for more of the shorba. They said they'd bring it, but it never came, which was a bit disappointing, but still appreciated the palate cleanser concept. Appetizers (ordered 3): * Phulka jackfruit: Kind of like a taco - really nice flavor with these crispies on it and a nice sauce. * Kashmiri morel mushrooms: I'm not usually a mushroom person, but this was excellent. Loved the creamy base and overall flavor. * Potato sphere chaat: Probably the weakest of the three. It was more sev than potato, and didn't quite hit for me. Midis (ordered 2): * Yogurt kebab: Very interesting texture with a nice chutney base * Sweet pickle pork: I didn't personally try it, but the other two in my group loved it Mains (ordered 3): * Sweet corn vadai: Really unique and flavorful - one of the standouts * Paneer kofta: Not my favorite; different from what I expected * Chicken tikka meatballs: Surprisingly good! I don't usually love meatballs, but these had a great texture and flavor Accompaniments (ordered 3): * Butter chicken kulcha: Easily my favorite - would come back just for this, but note it can be a little "greasy" * Daal with black garlic naan: The naan was unique with a slightly sweet taste; the daal could've used a bit more depth * Chana masala kulcha: A little spicy but still very flavorful Dessert (ordered 1 + 1 complimentary): * Banana sticky date cake: A lovely, satisfying end to the meal * Makhan malai (complimentary for a birthday in our group): Very airy and unique texture - not really for us personally, but appreciate the team supporting our birthday celebration We skipped drinks even though the menu is extensive - we wanted to focus on the food Overall, I really liked this place. The dishes were a mix - nothing was outright bad (except maybe the makhan malai for our taste), but not everything was a hit either. Still, it's a fun, elevated dining experience with creative takes on Indian cuisine. I'd definitely go back, especially for the butter chicken kulcha. Only real miss was the forgotten re-order of the amuse bouche, but otherwise service and vibes were strong.

However, the oxtail and prawns were a little low in quantity, and also didn't have flavors that were as distinct. And that's the main reason I wouldn't return as often; given the price and the michelin star, I would've expected some more variety in flavor from the dishes, but didn't find that as much here.
