    23. Butter Chicken

I ordered garlic naan and butter chicken through DoorDash. The butter chicken was good, creamy and flavorful, but there was a pretty distinct tomato taste that stood out more than I expected. The garlic naan was decent but didn't really taste like fresh garlic; pretty sure they used jarlic instead, which made it less flavorful. Portion sizes could definitely be bigger; the photos online made it look like more food than what I actually got. Since I doordashed I can't speak on service, but overall it's a solid spot. I'd give it a 9/10: mainly just wish the naan had real garlic and portions matched the pics.

This was my first time to the Indian Café. The service was good. This is a very basic, no-frills, clean restaurant. Service was good. My butter chicken was good but average. Portion size was similar to most other places. It came with rice. I had to order nan on the side. I would consider returning when in the area again however, I would probably try other restaurants first.

Stopped by for some food and saw they had some good reviews. We ordered the chicken tikka masala, coconut chicken, samosas garlic naan and mango lassi. Both chicken plates were terrific so tasty. Garlic naan is super good. The samosas were ok. The mango lassi was really good. The place had plenty of seating and was clean. Staff was friendly and found they were from nepal. Will definitely be going back super good!

Small, but nicely arranged booths and tables. Helpful staff as we hadn't eaten India or Nepal food. I had Chicken Biryani for $13.99. Great and huge portion. My wife had the Lamb Thali which was very good at $14.99. Fun food as it was all new to us.

Must say I'm really happy to stumble on them! The food is so good, the butter and garlic naan is not too dry, it's still moist. We pair it with. Goat curry, and it goes 10 for me! It's so good, the meat is generous, and the gravy! Oh wow, they gave the rice for one set of the curry, which yes for sure, I finished it with the rice! My daughter loves it, hubby likes it, for these 2 that always are picky eater, kinda good to know they like it! I had their mango lassi for drink, it's good! I will be back for more gravy! Oh the bathroom is so clean, it's a small shop but somewhat it felt homey!

2.5 stars I think this is unfort Indian food meant for white people. Ordered the chicken tikka masala and garlic naan. A couple of the naans were more like chips and not fluffy at all. And also came out cold. The chicken tikka masala's sauce was good but the chicken itself was very chunky and not well cooked. The ambiance is alright and the service is great. Waiter was very attentive. Overall I don't think I'll be coming back.

I was craving Indian food and came across this place while searching on Yelp. I came here on a weekday evening and it was pretty empty but I dined in and noticed many customers in and out grabbing to go. I wanted a vegetarian dish so I ordered the Vegetable Nepali Thali and it did not disappoint! I think I had eaten everything down to the last grain of basmati rice. It was soooo delicious and the naan was freshly made when it came out. It's not a fancy restaurant and could be viewed somewhat as a hole in the wall, but that's usually where the best food comes from.

Don't judge a book by its cover! This hidden gem in Costa Mesa has yummy and authentic Indian food. Came here on a Sunday after a beach day- there was one other party so we were able to sit right away. We sat at our table for a few minutes without being greeted so had to peek my head over the counter to get some help. I had chicken tikka masala with an order of garlic naan. One order is the perfect amount of food for one person and the garlic naan came with four pieces or enough for two people to split. Its nice because they do ask what level of spiciness of food you would like on a scale from 1-10 (other Indian restaurants I've been to don't ask this). The chicken could have been a tad bit more tender, but flavor was on point. Good service and very polite. Would definitely come back if i am in the area and craving Indian cuisine.

The expanded space creates such a warm, inviting atmosphere that makes the whole dining experience even more enjoyable. This time around, I had the salmon and my partner ordered the cioppino--both were absolutely exquisite. You can really tell the care and quality that goes into every dish. Service was just as impressive. Mia, our server, was cordial, attentive, and made us feel well taken care of throughout the meal. The hostess was also welcoming and set the tone right from the start. Our waitress was also great. But there are major issues besides that.

I am not exaggerating that I believe this is the best seafood restaurant I have ever been to. The menu is extensive, the fish is so fresh and flavorful, and the sides are as top notch as the fish. I had the Cajun salad bowl and my husband had the ahi poke bowl both were excellent. The fish was so fresh, the portions were large as both of us took some home. The vegetables were incredibly delicious. My sister ordered and devoured most of the sea bass entree, again taking some home. The fork tender fish melted in your mouth, yes I know because she let me have a taste and it was scrumptious! We are already planning our next visit taking some friends who cannot wait to try Simply Fish. The waitstaff was very personable, professional friendly and helpful. I am unable to come up with anything remotely negative to share. The prices are on par and in some instances a little less than expected. If you like seafood you will not be disappointed!

5-Star Review: Shuck Oyster Bar in Costa Mesa - Absolutely Outstanding Seafood Experience!…read moreI recently visited Shuck Oyster Bar in Costa Mesa (located at 3313 Hyland Ave suite C 21), and wow - it exceeded every expectation! If you're a seafood lover, especially oysters or creative tacos, this place is a must-try. We started with the oysters from Washington - a beautiful variety platter of four different types. Each one was fresher and more incredible than the last, with that perfect briny pop and clean finish. They were absolutely amazing and easily some of the best I've ever had. Then came the tacos, and they stole the show. The lobster tacos were out of this world - on a completely different level! Tender, flavorful lobster with perfect seasoning and toppings that made every bite pure bliss. The fish tacos were excellent - fresh, crispy, and perfectly balanced. And don't sleep on the shrimp tacos either; they were delicious and rounded out an epic trio. The calamari was some of the best I've ever tasted - light, crispy, and not greasy at all. We also got the lobster roll, which was again on another level - generous portions of sweet lobster in a buttery roll that was just heavenly. To top it off, the fish and chips were spot-on: crispy batter, flaky fish, and that classic satisfaction. A great touch was the cucumber-infused water - so refreshing and a nice thoughtful detail. The atmosphere is fantastic: chill vibe, not too noisy, and since we went before noon, it wasn't busy at all - perfect for a relaxed meal. The service was friendly and attentive. Overall, Shuck Oyster Bar is now one of my absolute number-one go-to spots in Orange County. I can't wait to come back - probably very soon! If you love oysters, fresh seafood, or just great food in a cool setting, you've gotta try this place. Highly recommend to friends, family, and anyone who appreciates quality seafood. 10/10 - we'll be regulars!

Also very much chatting with each other and even when making eye contact with servers for assistance was ignored. Food wise order the dozen oyster chef choice, grill cheese, chowder fries, ahi and lobster taco Dozen oyster there were 3 types all on the brinier side with the final ones more brinier than others and accompany with ginger 2 types of chili sauce and pickle red onion Chowder fries a bit on the salty side with some bites but had a nice chowder and fries ratio With little heat from the Fresno chili that were garnished Tacos were served with in a blue corn tortilla, for $6 each on the smaller side like a street taco and flavors wise pretty basic, didn't stand out very much Grill cheese with 4 pieces very buttery toast nice crunch and gooey melty cheeses Overall pretty decent food but wasn't impress with the service and though short handed, there wasn't a sense of urgency to assist, minimal acknowledgment, and wasn't checked back on after food was dropped off as others were being asked around us Also noticed in their food kitchen window as dishes were waiting to be picked up there was a plate of burger and fries and someone from the kitchen twice with barehand taking bunches of fries from a already prepare plate to be delivered. Seemed very odd. Unsure if would return to this establishment.
