Queso Frito

Came in for dinner not knowing what to expect and was pleasantly surprised to learn I am now a new regular. I'll get straight into it, the food is amazing. Well seasoned, well executed, great textures, the chef just knows how to cook. I ordered the cajun arroz con pollo upon suggestion from our wonderful server and it was fantastic. The rice was beautifully seasoned and chicken and sausage were tender and juicy. My girlfriend ordered the Cubano which she graciously let me have a bite of and it was the best Cubano I've ever had, and I've had quite a few including from Cubanos ATL (which this sandwich destroyed). A good sandwich is consistent through every bite, and the textures were spot on as well. I have found very few places in Georgia who serve any kind of Latin oriented food that I would consider edible, and this place was so good you could close your eyes and pretend you were at a Bodega in Miami. To the chef/staff: Keep doing what you're doing, it's fantastic, and I'll see you soon.

Drive by here on our way through GA. Had to check out 5 star with 44 reviews. Well...I'm next with 5 stars. Walked in early tonight. Seated and done in 30 minutes! Food was quick and hot...and delicious! Husband I shared everything. We started with 1/2 dozen raw and fried oysters. Clean oysters without any grit and the fried were light and not greasy. Awesome! The cubano was amazing and the mojo I wish I had a gallon to pour on everything. I regret that I couldn't eat the last two bites and I didn't even bother with the fries! It was all worth the stuffed belly I have! Thanks for a great meal and great service!

Coming from Florida, it was easy to find a good Cuban sandwich. After moving to Georgia, not so much. Went for a ride since it was a nice day, and found this place by accident. A fortunate accident! Not only is this the best Cuban sandwich I found in Georgia, but it might be pretty close to the best Cuban sandwich I've had. Obviously the locals know this too; saw a lot of Cuban sandwiches leaving the kitchen.

This place is a must try! I am embarrassed to admit how much we eat here. I have tried most of the menu items and haven't had a bad bite. Their food is exploding with flavor and always consistent. The menu is well thought out and truly has something for everyone. Some of my favorites - steak tacos, wings, empanadas, the pit pot, the burgers, ribs, and the Cubano. But most of all, I LOVE the tres leches. It is habit inducing. Do yourself a favor. Eat here. P.S. Chef Alberto and team are amazing. They are so warm and welcoming and will take good care of you.

Lunch pot - absolute deliciousness

Yes, you are seeing a Cuban restaurant in Dillard with 5 stars. It's really that good. Everything was exceptional. The Cubano sandwich was amazing - the bread was crunchy and chewy at the same time, and the meats, cheese, pickles, and mustard perfectly complemented each other. Delicious. Then, my Lunch Pot was absolutely spot-on. Well-seasoned rice and beans with a huge pile of super pulled pork, topped with all kinds of deliciousness - guacamole, cilantro cream, pickled red onion - was way more than I could eat.

So I drove 774 miles from Miami to Dillard GA to find this Cuban gem. Wow! I ordered chicharrón de pollo. There is no translation. It's basically chicken breast perfectly seasoned, battered and fried to perfection. The salad was one of the best I've eaten in a while. All the ingredients, very fresh, including aguacate tomatoes cucumbers, The works. It also came with yuca and a special Mayo sauce. It was the perfect meal at the end of a long day rafting. The owner was friendly and the staff went out of their way to make sure everyone was happy. If you're ever in North Georgia, be sure to stop by.

100% stop here for the best cuban sandwiches if you're near the area. The staff makes sure you're taken care of and the food is absolutely amazing!

Excellent yuca fries and juicy pork on the cuban sandwiches. Wish the yuca was a larger portion but the sandwich was very large.

Wow! I read the reviews about how delicious the Cubano sandwich was here and was hoping for the best. Service was slow, I think they were a bit overwhelmed at 2pm on a Sunday. But the food more than made up for it. The sandwich was amazing, and a huge portion! The fries were hot and crispy. The criollo sauce served alongside was delicious. My husband also had the sandwich and went with the plantain chips which he said were great. I took half my sandwich home and couldn't even finish the half that was left for lunch it was so packed with meat. I got the Kahlua banana pudding to go and that was also out of this world! Definitely worth a stop if you are passing though Dillard.

All I can say is: Eat here. The staff was friendly, made helpful suggestions, and the food was oh so delicious. I had the brisket tacos and my wife had the #3 plate. The chicken fell right off the bone. Then we had the tres leches which blew our mind. Very family friendly as well.

Give this place a try. Trust, you will NOT regret it. We eaten here twice, but today we brought our 15 year old son and our pooch. They have 2 tables under cover outside, so our dog could chill with us. Our son had never had Cuban food so he was really skeptical...but we just left, and he is singing their praises! Their pulled pork and crispy chicken confit is so yummy...and their classic Cuban sandwich is great, too! The hand cut fries with Cuban ketchup...the bread pudding...it is all to die for!! And if you like raw oysters...YUM. If you're looking for authentic Cuban, or just something different - Stop by when you're in the area!

Great place! Fun decor, "old Diner" decor with lots of Elvis pics (I'm a fan!). The Brunswick Stew is amazing!! Filled with chunks of meat. The hush puppies are light, not heavy with grease and absolutely delish! It's a must when coming through Dillard, GA!

Food is unique but average. Service is poor. Do not buy a gift certificate, will not honor it.

202604241618…read more Parking's can be tricky. Maybe you'll luck out & be able to park in one of the coveted six spaces behind the restaurant. Otherwise park further behind or across street & short walk over. It's an old converted gas station on the corner. Majority of seating is outside. There's some inside seating & a bar inside. Old gas station style bathrooms outside & around the corner. There's a stage for events. Appears to be pet friendly. Nice view of Main Street with shops, desserts & boutiques. You can watch both people & vehicle traffic. Service is quick, quiet & friendly. Lots of specialty drinks to choose from. Food is really good. The Smokehouse Burger is prepared to order with bacon, fried onion rings, melted cheese, tender, juicy, delicious. When you're done, walk up one side & down the other to walk that food off & get yourself ready for dessert. Enjoy!

The establish was not busy. The tables were sticky and had visible signs of glass rings. For not being busy, it took a considerable amount of time for the food to come out. While my food was very good, the wife had fries that were cold. We were served food without any utensils or napkins. It took 8 minutes for utensils to arrive and one napkin each. We asked for more napkins, which never came. My wife mentioned the cold fries and she was brought another serving of equally cold fries. When we were finished, I asked the server for a couple to go boxes. We received one and had to ask for more; eventually getting one more box. It took an additional 10 minutes to get the check, and another 10 to have it retrieved with the credit card. The neighboring table was also dealing with cold fries.

Well, it's down a couple of stars. I'm not from Clayton, but…read morewe love this little town and visit it often, last trip in January 2026. I noticed the window sign said "Angie's Clayton Cafe" and whilst being seated at 11:45AM on Tuesday June 2, 2026, noted the wall art had changed, no more local memorabilia, and the menu is now a well worn, two sheet pieces of copy paper. No problem, the place was nearing capacity per usual and we did get a window seated table. But, then I noticed, no collard greens on the menu. So, if you read my earlier reviews, you will note that I have eaten at quite a few "meat and three" style country diners and that I also know how to cook this food at home. That's a big qualifier, because Clayton Cafe had become a part of our destination trip to Clayton from Greenville, SC. It was just that good, a notch above the crowd. I didn't find this experience to be the same. The decor, service, ambiance was the same. Even the same crowd starting a 15 minute table wait shortly after noon. Business has not suffered, but the food is not the same. Overall, everything was less flavorful, more bland. The highlight, the white sawmill gravy was piping hot and flowed well, not a gloopy mess and I like that it was served on the side. The country fried steak was tender, but it had less crunch on the crust and was significantly bland - pepper and salt please. The green beans had a small chunk of meat involved, but they too were very bland and lacked a depth of flavor expected from the hamhock, the biscuit was good, but not the buttery crusty biscuit if yore. The okra was straight up flour breading with no cornmeal in the mixture and that's a game changer on this dish. Fried chicken was good. Squash, or squash casserole was a bland mess and left uneaten. Don't get me wrong. This three star rating means "OK". It's still a good meat and three. It's just not an exceptional meat and three as experiences my multiple prior visits. So that's when I asked the server if the restaurant had changed owners and yes, in April 2026. Well, there ya go, but Bon Chance to the new owners and Godspeed towards the hard work and keeping it going. Obviously, a full house lunch crowd on a Tuesday in June shows positive momentum. I'm just saying, pay attention to flavor, both in depth and complexity, to make these Southern standards stand out from the meat and three crowd.
