Just stopped by The Human Bean for a coffee and a burrito after reading all the raving reviews. The brewed coffee on point but the sausage burrito was still pretty much frozen and inedible. The Human Bean never disappoints. My favorite item on the menu is the Java Chip (blended with coffee). I don't want to think about the calories nor the sugar content. This is a treat for myself and I don't have it as often as I would like. I highly recommend this drink if you are looking for something sweet and the taste of chocolate and a kick of coffee. This place is always so great! Staff is always friendly and welcoming. I've never been to a place where staff are consistently so sweet and kind. It's either a drive thru or walk up, no indoor seating but don't let that deter you. It's got a cute little coffeehouse vibe. This is the fourth time I've gone through and they refused my order due to not accepting $100 bill. No where does it say no large bills are accepted. I don't often use cards and generally only carry cash. Poor customer service as they refuse American money on a regular basis. Well the service wasn't the best for sure. On the menu and the board with the seasonal items there was no prices listed for everything. Which makes it a guessing game. Ordered a seasonal drink hot; which I was very excited about; when I get to the window they tell me the total and hand me an iced tea. I wish they would tell you the total before you get to the window so you can be prepared. I politely tell the worker that was the wrong order; she shut the window and a minute later appeared with what I think was the right drink but honestly who knows. She never repeated the drink to me. There was no apology for the wrong order either ; almost like she was upset I didn't just take whatever drink she gave me. Who knows if I paid the right price or not ; kinda weird. Since originally gave me the wrong order ; not sure if that's what she charged me for or my actual correct drink .... Hard to know. I have wanted to try out the new Human Bean locations popping up around Visalia and Tulare because they appear to be quite popular based on the long drive-thru lines. I was in the area, and the line was a little shorter than usual, so I decided to stop in and give it a try. The Human Bean is a drive up/walk up coffee establishment which does not have indoor service. Considering current restrictions, this seems to be a great business model. I opted for the Mexi-Mocha which is made from Mexican chocolate, milk, and espresso. $5.50 for a large. I am not a big fan of cinnamon and I try to avoid it at all costs; however, it was very nice...more like drinking a hot chocolate drink rather than a coffee. The parking lot is a little awkward and the drive-thru line is confusing because cars were lining up coming in from two different entrances. More pastries would be nice. The line moved quickly, and the service was outstanding. I will return to try other drinks. read more

The service was not the best when I got to the window. Whoever was working the window was upset about something and it was obvious as soon as she started speaking . She snarled when I asked to scan for my points. After I got my coffee, my first sip was so chunky as if they didn't finish stirring or mixing my coffee . I got a 24oz ICED snowy . I go to human bean every day / night. Just not this location. The people working here should put more effort or find a new job where they don't do customer service or make peoples 8$ drinks. read more

I'm typically more geared to purchase from locally owned businesses. It's nice to know that the human being has the same aspect for being a franchise. Absolutely love this place!!! So far I have tried several drinks now, and the Pomegranate blueberry smoothie is my favorite!! How can you go wrong for 5.75 20 oz smoothie?? The wait time is like 20 sec, no line whatsoever!! Customer service here is very friendly and informative. My kids love the frozen little bean hot chocolate. I'm here about twice a week and collect rewards, on Wednesday is double points. I only paid 75 cents for smoothie today. read more

First day...so far so good--the lines are still long. The coffee drinks are delicious and so are the chocolate covered espresso beans. Ask for a pup cup for a treat for your dog similar to a Starbucks puppacino but they add a little dog bone biscuit. Brewed coffee is okay kinda tastes plastic-y. read more

The Human Bean has the most delicious granitas I have tried. You can taste the fresh espresso shots in the drink (unlike other places who often use cold drip coffee). I will say, I find it a bit odd that you are charged extra for ingredients such as caramel drizzle on a granita. While the granitas are delicious, be prepared to pay about $6+ for a medium size with drizzle! My kids love love the kids-size smoothies, however they seem expensive at $5 for a small portion. Human Bean has delicious mochas & a great variety to choose from. The regular brewed coffee, I found okay but not something I would go out of my way for (now the granita and mochas I WILL make a trip for.. lol) I gave my review a four because there are some inconsistencies in how the hot drinks are prepared (some days they are right on & other days either too sweet and or milky). Customer service and speed of service is fantastic. The little bean they add on your drink is not just a super cute touch but also delicious! I'm so disappointed of this place. After spending over $6.00 for my drink I wasn't expecting to be charge for a cup of water. One month ago I ask for a cup of ice and I got charged $1.00 and today I ask for water and the same. I understand if they are trying to charge for the cup, but charge .25c not a dollar! It's ridiculous. Starbucks sells their reusable cups for $1.00. I come 5 days of the week to this place and spend from $6.25 to $11.62 daily and even if they take forever I used to think it was worth it. I know what people it's going to said. If you don't like it go somewhere else, and that's what I'm going to do. It's not about the money, it's about the service I don't think a lot of people ask for a cup of water and they can even give .10c free to someone that it's going to support your business? I consistently buy from Human Bean for my drinks, because I love the ones in Visalia. But this one specifically has been a let down every time. The drinks are never consistent in taste even though I order the same exact thing every single time, the prices aren't even consistent ranging from 50 cents to a dollar more, just depending on who's taking my order I guess. I hate leaving a bad review because the girls are so sweet. I fight two wolves within me lol because it's food service and they deal with enough as it is, but I'm also paying $8 for a drink that is rarely filled to the top because I "ordered with light ice". 16oz is 16oz, regardless of ice. I just think the workers need to be trained more efficiently. read more
