Do not go if you expect real expresso drink. Sweet drinks are good but my latte tastes watery.

As much as I enjoy this place, the workers can't make a vanilla bean the same, and that's the only drink I order when I go. Most of the time it's too watery, big chunks of ice still, and no flavor. Very rare do the girls make it thick and creamy which is how I like it. read more

This drive thru coffee shop is super cute. It had friendly staff and fair pricing and was open later in the evening for a Saturday. We ordered an iced mocha and a hot chai. The chai was good. The iced mocha was just okay. It was more of an iced chocolate milk. So that was a bit of disappointment. We will go back and give it another chance when we visit Porterville. They offer biscotti, bagels and muffins. They offer multiple milk options for an additional charge. They also have smoothies and energy drink options. read more

Aw man; I really wanted to love this place -- especially with their support of firefighters. I went to check up on a property in Porterville today, and saw this place next to Starbucks. With these weird times, I figure I might as well support local businesses, so on my way back home, I stopped by Java Express. The drive thru kiosk was really cool, and they have a lot of great flavors. I ordered a hot vanilla lemon latte. It was a little pricy for a medium ($5.25), but I was willing to pay. Driving through Exeter, I took my first sip, and it had a cottage cheese texture. I opened the lid, and it was all curdled. I seriously cannot say how much I love this place into words. We don't live in town but my best friend lives in Porterville and every time we are in town we never skip a chance for Java. When we leave town we even stop to get drinks with no ice so I can enjoy for a few days after leaving town. They have sooo many options and fun creations. All the employees are all so amazing and the owner is one in a million! My husband doesn't drink coffee but he loves their Red Bull drink selections. I was born and raised in Porterville and it wasn't until I recently moved back that I decided to finally try this place. Let me just say I have been missing out. I've worked for Starbucks before and I can honestly say the blended beverages here are way better than Starbucks Frappuccinos. The main reason is they use that crushed nugget ice to blend their beverages. Starbucks uses normal ice. Also for the price, it's almost as much as Starbucks so might as well support a local family owned coffee shop. I've been here about 5 times now and every time I've had nothing but great service and amazing drinks. The drinks are blended so well and they're so smooth. Not a single chunk of ice. I haven't tried anything other than their blended beverages so I can't speak on behalf of the rest of the menu but I'm confident that they taste just as good. If you've ever had the coffee bean...this is similar in texture and even taste. I highly recommend this little cafe. They have so many great flavors to chose from and also they have a good amount of sugar free drinks as well. Friendly staff, and delicious blended drinks. The reason for 4 stars is because of two reasons. My first time coming, I asked if it was possible to make a sugar free blended drink. I was told yes, that they offer sugar free flavors. However, when I talked to a different employee. She said the blended drinks aren't sugar free because of the base. The second reason is because the iced coffee is listed as $2.95 (cream and sugar). I ask to sub for sugar free vanilla and heavy cream. Which to my surprise made it $4. Starbucks trenta 31oz ice coffee is $3.95 no additional cost for cream and sf vanilla. read more

I have been here several times and get great service EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. My kids love it, and I love it too. They have more syrup flavors than Starbucks and much better coffee. I have been coming here more as I'd rather support a local shop as opposed to a big franchise business. A local family owns this place, and that's how you feel when you are there, like family.
