This place kept showing up on my Yelp when I searched for coffee shoppes. I couldn't wait to try it , looked over the menu , ordered and waited. Drinks were kinda pricey. Ordered a large iced mocha and a large cookie butter I think with tax came to $16. Drinks took a little longer than expected to get. Drinks were okay, honestly thought they would have had more flavor ; the taste of either flavor didn't really pop out . For once , thought these iced drinks needed more iced; wasn't much ice in either of them . Drinks were more kinda lukewarm temperature wise. Pretty cool to see the coffee machine inside; were they roast fresh coffee beans. read more

I stopped in here on Christmas Eve as I was running around doing some last-minute shopping. The espresso was a little iffy- something about the bitter aftertaste that was not great, but I think if you're using that to make other mixed drinks then you can get away with it. The four-stars are mostly for the excellent customer service. I walked out of that place with a big smile simply because the barista and the cashier were so sweet. I can see coming back here for some of their delicious looking food items (I was looking at you pumpkin loaf with that thick frosting ) and maybe one of their other drinks. read more

I went in to order a drink. Hardly anyone in there. It's so a roasting place but she would roast the beans before the drinks so it slowed things down. Then there was a line and I was still waiting. An hour later, no drink. Very unorganized only one person working. Won't be back. read more

I enjoy supporting local businesses, but Mavericks has always been hit or miss for me. I went in this week with a laptop to do some work. Their wifi is excellent, which can be hard to find at coffee shops! However, the coffee tasted a little burnt. But I've had good Mavericks coffee before, so maybe it was just an off day. The big turn off for me was the state of the shop itself. I like to do work in coffee shops for the music, ambience, and cleanliness. However, the baseboards were just caked with dirt. This was right next to my chair. :( I will continue to support Mavericks, but I was just a little disappointed, and frankly...a little grossed out, by the lack of cleanliness this week. read more

I am concerned about the management here. It seems the quality may not be up to par. We went in when they were roasting and it smelled like burnt popcorn. It wasn't being turned as it roasted leaving it to be damaged by scorch. Not sure what it will take to revive this spot, I would love to see it thrive as it has potential. They do offer organic coffee, I would love to see the revenue spike. The taste for coffee isn't what it should be. read more

I give it 5 stars just for the coffee. They do a pour over and you can basically pick any kind of bean you want. I wasn't a flavored coffee guy before Mavericks as most flavored coffee doesn't actually have a coffee taste. Mavericks does. There non-flavored coffees are great. I initially started drinking them when another place I went to had their coffee. They do have some food items such as over night oats, bagels, and a few other bakery items. Service can vary and sometimes it can take a few minutes to get your coffee but they have places to sit and have a library and some games to play. read more

Stopped at this coffee shop while visiting family...so nothing local or something I will be back to in a long while. We ordered a tea, a cold brew, and a cinnamon roll. Pros: The iced tea was great! They have sugar free options and milk substitutes! My niece loved her cinnamon roll and it smelled amazing! So give that a try! Cons: The cinnamon roll was a little delayed, the barista who took our order sat to work at a computer and the other barista went outside with a customer so we had to come stand by the counter to get someone's attention to grab my nieces cinnamon roll and get on the road again, not a problem just not the best service for being empty, but like I said the item itself was great. The iced coffee felt much much much (yes 3 muchs) watered down and weak, ordered sugar free hazelnut, but by the time I was in car on the road I realized they were in a rush and gave me chocolate sugar free syrup (and way too much of it) :/ so at that point it's a loss of $4-5 dollars that I won't drink and we were too far to turn around. read more

The shop was basic and unimpressive. We came here while traveling and looking for organic coffee. Upon arrival we noticed several people waiting and one very frustrated barista. She was not happy at all. We were not greeted and waited for a while to have my order taken. I asked for a large sweet toffee nut latte. My gut said I should have left. With the barista apparently having a rough day, my chances of getting a not so good coffee was a high possibility. I should not have ignored my gut. After a long wait I received my coffee and left. Walking to my car I tasted it...nope. Not a pump of sweetener at all. She apparently forgot to add the sweetener. I was going to go back but didn't feel like it was worth it due to her poor countenance. I do not plan to go there ever again. read more

I walked in with a good demeanor and optimistic attitude. I searched coffee roasters in Visalia while visiting my hometown and waited an additional day in Visalia to get coffee in the morning before I headed out. Being that I travel and stop at coffee roasters normally, I was super excited to try this place out. Especially because it's in my hometown. So I walked in friendly and tried to short talk "Wow the only Coffee roaster in town!" The barista responded rudely to me...well, It's okay maybe it's because it's a Monday. I get it. I ordered a cortado and the barista said I'd have to trust her. I tipped an additional dollar when paying because I understood the effort. Btw, Which is half of the price of coffee. I was trying. My cortado was an entire cup. When I went inside to ask if I could just have a double shot I was responded by two women with their arms crossed telling me thats how we make it here. Woah ladies, coffee roasters are supposed to send good vibes. Your place did the complete opposite. There are just too many good things to say about this place. customer service was great, we got acknowledged as soon as we walked in the door. the owner recommended his nitro cold brew and it was beyond delicious. i have never had a cold brew that wasnt extremely bitter, but this one was so smooth and flavorful. you have to try it! my husband and I decided to split a scone that was freshly baked that morning and i wished i would of had my own. its so good, its not worth sharing lol. make your loved ones get their own! the owner served it warm and now i crave one every morning. delicious! ok, now onto the best part...the bagged coffee. the only reason this is the best part is because i get to enjoy the insanely smooth, wonderful coffee in my own home every morning! my husband and I have tried so many different brands of coffee, including the coffee from the tv show Dangerous grounds "La Colombe" which was great but expensive. nothing beats finding an even better coffee, that not only tastes better, but is cheaper AND local! god i love this place. oh and you must try the bagged ground coffee in the flavor Maple Bacon. yes you read that right. ok now that ive gotten myself worked up, I must make a trip over there. read more

They have a wall of containers with roasted whole beans that they grind right before they make your coffee. Be careful that anyone with you hides in the bathroom so they don't have to pay.
