My husband and I had driven by this location a few times and finally decided to stop by. The three rating is for the employees because they were friendly and professional. We weren't sold on the coffee or pastries we purchased. Everything was super sweet. I ordered the Irish Cream Breve and my husband wanted the Green Tea Smoothie; however, was told it was not available, so he ordered some Apple flavored specialty drink. We both had a banana nut muffin. Again, everything was abnormally super sweet and neither of us finished eating or drinking our items. read more

We were trying to kill some time before starting our day (apparently everything opens at 10am on Sundays haha!) and ended up at one of our favorites, The Human Bean. We have visited this location once or twice before. Today's experience was another good one! I was interested in the mexi mocha, but I have a wheat allergy so I asked the person helping us if it is gluten free. They weren't sure, but they showed me the bag of powder used in the drink and I was able to determine it is NOT gluten free/wheat free! I ended up going with their cold brew with cold sweet foam on top, creamer, and Torani raspberry syrup. I was able to confirm online that the Torani raspberry syrup is gluten free for anyone else out there who might need to know! My drink was very good, but next time I'd probably go without the creamer for something a bit stronger. Raspberry and coffee are always my favorite combination though- so so good! My fiancé got the blueberry pomegranate smoothie - always one of our go to's! Unfortunately they didn't have any protein today so we went without, but we usually get that in all of our smoothies here. We have tried the green apple caramel, lemonade, and raspberry and they are all delicious. Great experience today as always and can't wait for our next visit! Get the app! The app recommended the TROPICAL BREEZE- its a Guava Dragon Fruit Lychee Green Tea that's not on the menu when you drive up! It was my first time coming and I was pleasantly surprised all around. I got the drink and their bacon croissant breakfast sandwich and both were great, 10/10. Now the customer service of this location is what really made the experience great. I should have gotten their names but the two young ladies with beautiful curly hair were the sweetest ever! I said light ice and they actually listened unlike a mainstream coffee shops. I just discovered this little place off the 101. I was desperate for coffee one day, driving across town and discovered this! They are super friendly. Have all the options for coffee and flavors, milk, etc. They have a decent cold brew. Relatively mild for me but good. I love the chocolate covered coffee bean accompanying all drinks! I've been a few times now for cold brew. I don't drink the sweet lattes and such, so I can't speak to those. I will certainly return when I'm in this area. read more

Two stars because the coffee is great, but that day my service was horrible 1/5/22 at 1:20 pm. Here's why the one star for service. I was on my 30 minute lunch break and decided to get some coffee. I pulled into the driveway and was super stoked that there was only one car a head of me. It appeared to be a young guy in his green Honda accord. Not that that matters, but I knew this because I was one car behind him. The guy seemed to have known the employee working because they were talking, laughing, and even exchange a couple of high fives from the car to the girl working the drive through window. She handed him a coffee and then he sat there still talking and laughing. At this point I was like oh, maybe he's like a Uber eats and is still waiting on some more drinks... Nope, after about 12 minutes they exchanged another high five and then he drove off. I was like WTF... I get up to the window and asked the girl what was that long wait for? Her reply was "awe man that's my co-worker and we were just talking"... I said to her, "really? you seen me sitting there all this time in my work truck and you let me sit there for that long while you chatted for a bit"? She was like, sorry, what can I get you. Unbelievable people.. and she still charged me for my small coffee.. I would have been more apologetic and gave my customer a free drink for letting them wait on me while I socialized.. Ehh coffee. I hate leaving bad reviews to be that guy but honestly the coffee wasn't good at all that it made me inclined to leave a review. I got a Nitro Cold brew and asked them to put lavender in it, I asked specifically for A LOT OF LAVENDER- EXTRA! I'm a huge fan of it especially in my coffee so I wanted to make sure. I got my drink and then asked them to put some more in it because I could barley taste it. I figured their nitro cold brew would be similar to Starbucks nitro cold brew so that's why I gave it a try. After about drinking 1/4 of it, I couldn't do the rest. Just nothing great about it. My friend got the Snowy Mocha and he didn't even drink more than half of it either. I think they need to redo the menu or tastetest their drinks because the flavors in it are just No. I'll give this place another chance later on in the future but won't be back anytime soon. read more

However, I would like to say to the owners of this location that it's unreasonable to think that it's ok to have your staff/team members have to stand outside in the extreme heat and temperatures in AZ and take orders. Other locations I have been to do not require this and it just doesn't seem ethical. Please take care of your team who works SO hard for YOU and YOUR/THEIR customers!! Take care of them and install a normal order box so they don't have to potentially suffer from heat exhaustion or stroke. They are the best and deserve the best. Ugh. I like the coffee here and it used to be a weekly treat for our family but for months now, without fail, the mess up our order every time. It's like a bad joke. And I actually embarrassed for the employees at some point. It's always the same young kids on Sunday afternoon. I don't know what the problem is but they just cannot get our order right. I'm talking 3-5 attempts to get it right every time we go and we end up driving away taking what we can get and knowing it isn't exactly what we ordered. And we just get americanos. We want to be able to come here every Sunday when we are on this side of town and it's just not worth the disappointment. Sorry guys. I loved my experience!! I went last night with my daughter and her new puppy and ordered some smoothies before close and I got to meet Ashlynn and Cameron who took my order and were such a delight. They made sure I was taken care of even though they were busy! I ordered a Strawberry Banana Smoothie for my daughter and a granita and then Ashlynn asked if I wanted Hershey's or caramel around the cup and I was so excited!!! I had never been asked that here! I also got asked if I wanted a pup cup which i normally get at Starbucks for my daughters new puppy but this one was even better, it came with treats!
