This was my first time having The Human Bean, and I was very pleased with my coffee. They were very friendly, and it was super fast! The one thing that I appreciated was the service aspect, super friendly and welcoming! Sadly most other coffee places will just take your order and lack the human connection of being friendly and welcoming. Customer service was good! It was my first time so the barista was very nice in answering all my questions. I asked which was their sweetest, most popular drink for coffee and she mentioned the snowy one (the white chocolate mocha drink). I took it iced, light ice. It's a no from me dawg. Tasted very watered down and I didn't like it at all, which sucked because I went out of my way to find a coffee drive thru to make a 2 hour trip back home. Oh well. BUT!! Those little chocolate covered espresso beans are TO DIE FOR!!! They put it on top of your drink and one taste and I asked to purchase a bag. They were sooooo good! I also bought a tri tip burrito. It was just okay. Was unfortunate that they don't make their burritos to order so if there's anything you don't want in it, you're SOL. Please display prices!!! Whatever happened w price changes, etc etc- the lack of transparency and all other things puts the burden of unknowns on the customer. Customer service is dying and the only way to try to restore. It is to stop going to places that have taken advantage of this. I hope that I don't have to do this here because they are Very kind -but once again enough is enough and I'm here to call out any business that doesn't put up. ** Visited on 4/20/2024 The Human Bean's staff is super kind and was very informative. The location is catered more for their drive thru but you are able to park on the curb and walk up to their walk up window. The drive thru isn't incredibly hard to navigate, but it's a little tough to get out of due to the incoming traffic on Morro Bay Bvld. OKAY THE DRINKS: I usually come here for a green tea or chai smoothie- something quick, sweet, and refreshing. But today I was feeling the need for a coffee pick me up. I ended up getting an iced caramel latte with oat milk which was tasty and nice. It wasn't something astonishing but it definitely got the job done :) read more

The waiter was very kind at the window. She asked us if we wanted to"the bean", so ominously right? Well we said we did want it. "The bean" was delicious and it is a chocolate covered coffee bean that comes in addition to your drink. My main drink was the frozen hot chocolate. It was scrumptious. I've been to different locations throughout the Central Valley and coast but this location wins the prize for being the worst. This is the place to go if you want the most watered down piece of shit drinks in the universe. Good job at fucking up something as simple as a hot chocolate and Mexi Moca. We saw the stand. We liked the way it looked. The next thing I knew, I was in the drive through not knowing anything about the place. Luckily, no one else was in line on the New Years Day that we were there. When we pulled up to the menu, we finally figured out that they were a drive through coffee shop. Service was good. We ordered a couple of drinks, a hazelnut breve for me, and a blended drink for my wife. The drink came with a chocolate covered espresso bean on top. The bean was a nice surprise. The human bean is just alright. I believe they have a good selection of drinks but not food. The drinks in my opinion are too overpriced. Also when I order and energy drink, sometimes they tell me I can only order in one size - 32oz which is way too big for my liking, then other times they offer me a 24oz and say they can make it that way as well. I don't appreciate the inconsistency with their sizing. To me the wait time is too long. I don't believe they are understaffed I think they just can't manage the traffic in their lines because today I waited for 20 mins for one drink when there was only one other person in front of me who also got one drink. read more

Ive been here twice -- the experience is friendly and fast, great ingredients, but I've been disappointed in the drinks. Both times I asked for extra ice in my large iced latte, and I get about 8 melted ice cubes. I guess I need to be more explicit in my request, but I don't want to come off as condescending to the barista. This is why I end up going to starbucks instead. read more

We came to morro to visit when this location first opened at it was amazing we loved and bought coffee there everyday for the two weeks we were here. This trip we've tried it twice and it was terrible we threw away three drinks the first day and 2 the second we someone be going back a third. Great location, convenient, and pretty quick. My second visit, today with T who was driving. Drive up and order, I ventured out of my cup and got a large Mac Mocha, espresso, milk, macadamia nut and chocolate. I was disappointed to taste scalding milk and frankly no other flavor, won't be ordering that next time. T had her usual and was quite happy with that. I usually come up to Morro Bay a few times a year, and I've really grown a liking of this spot. The coffee is great, and each time the staff has been pleasant and friendly. The little chocolate covered espresso bean is another nice touch. It's a drive thru location, although you can walk up and order too. We found this coffee shop on our last trip to Morro Bay. We had no idea it was a chain at first. Usually, we try to support local businesses and we thought we were until we looked further into it. But the damage has already been done and we are addicted. Hands down the best coffee you're going to find. Better than Starbucks and Dunkin by a long shot. The drinks are amazing and the chocolate covered coffee beans are the best. It surprised us at first because they put one on top of your drink lid and we were not expecting it or sure what it was (what better way to test something unknown than to pop it in your mouth and hope for the best, right?) but it ended up being my new favorite thing and I bought a whole bag. They employees were so sweet the two times we went during our trip. I really wish we had a location close to us in southern California. read more

I was happy to see this "The Human Bean" location while driving around Morro Bay. Yes they are a little difficult to pull in and out of due to the location. But it's not as anger inducing as some wrote here lol. I got the Java chip which was great. We also got a bag of their espresso bean chocolates. So yummy. What a great addition to Morro Bay this is my new go to coffee shop in town. Hands down better than all the others and you don't have to get out of the car. Today's visit was my second (in celebration they were giving $2 off each drink) so we did a night drive grabbed some lattes and smoothies and drove around town. They serve a chocolate covered coffee bean with every drink and I bought a pack to snack on. First visit had a hiccup but the owners made it right and then some. Super cute drive-thru. I was in the area when I noticed the unique name and cars driving through. I ordered a medium iced mocha with oat milk. It was tasty! I loved the chocolate covered bean they put on top. That was a complete surprise! Cute detail that made it a special experience. I also ordered a bagel with cream cheese. We have watched the building come up, although with Covid restrictions in place these two seniors do not leave our nest often. Today, Ed had to run errands, and included checking out the new establishment. Found the people friendly and happy to introduce him to the menu. Being cautious he decided he would get a plain coffee for us to share. This is excellent full-bodied coffee, without being bitter. We loved it, and are laying our plans for our next trip out, to use the drive-thru to start sampling choices from the menu. We were very very impressed! We wanted coffee and couldn't find any around the area that was open. So here we go! We were nervous because we're deaf and we had to use our cell phone to text our order. They were very patient and accepted our order. The coffee for me was just the way I like it! Stopped here to get some drinks on our way back to Santa Clarita from my birthday trip. We accidentally ended up ordering a regular iced breve latte cause we couldn't quite hear what they said back to us on the speaker. When I tell you it was the most delicious and rich latte I've ever had it is no exaggeration!! And normally I like overly sweet coffee but the quality of their espresso really made the drink sweet and creamy without any sweetener. Not to mention the cute little choco espresso bean that came on top :) I work at a Starbucks and nothing here comes close. I've been longing for that latte ever since lol.
