I should have known better but I was willing to take the chance of bringing it into the the theater. I have been to Royal Coffee a long time ago. It's been about 8 years since I have had coffee here. I stopped in to grab a caffeinated beverage since I had to toss mine earlier. It's nice that this joint is located in the Village. I'm always full from lunch or dinner so I've never had a desire to grab a drink after a meal. So I'm happy I got to stop in today. I was greeted by a sweet barista behind the counter. She was making a couple drinks. Her counterpart came out of nowhere and greeted me by surprise. I got my drink squared away with her and waited along the side for me drink. I got an iced sugar free English coffee americano today. Of course with room for cream. My drink was perfectly made. It had a good amount of espresso to ice. It wasn't watered down. It had the right amount of cream and English toffee. This drink was so much better than my initial drink that I threw away. I didn't feel bad for tossing it after getting this drink. It's such a bummer it took me so long to come back to this joint. I remember vividly liking this place when I first came. It's crazy how time has flown by. I really enjoyed the sweet gals working today. And I most enjoyed my much needed iced caffeinated beverage. I know this time around it won't be another 8 years till I come back. Talk about penny pinching to get everyday "dollar" out of your customer. Unfortunately after coming here for several months I never noticed the upcharge. What I didn't realize that this location is drive through only and I had made it my destination of my morning walk. No matter though, the girl at the counter was so friendly and didn't bat an eye when I walked up to the window. I typically order a drip with cream but she let me know they didn't serve drip and quickly offered to make me an Americano. She was quick and efficient and the Americano was delicious. Got my drink ordered and headed up to the window. It did take a hot minute for someone to come to the window and greet me. I don't mind waiting but I just don't like to sit there like an idiot while doing so. Just poke your head out and say "hi"! "I'll be right with you". The drink I ordered today was a strawberry acai lemonade with cherry. It comes with 3 scoops of cherry but I think next time I'll just get 2 scoops. The cherry is very prominent in the drink. I would like to taste the lemonade and strawberry flavors too. It's very good but it will be better with the modifications next time.
