I hadn't been to Human Bean in years, but stopped in on a whim to grab drinks for my son and me. The barista was incredibly sweet, friendly, and patient while helping me with the menu. She made the best cold brew with cold foam, and my son loved his smoothie as well. Her name was Lauren and she had curly hair. She acted like she wanted to have small conversation like most coffee shop employees and shut me down when I tried to talkApparently I was encroaching on her time. There was no one else in line. Stopped at this drive through coffee stand before taking off from Bend to go home. Seems to be many choices both hot and cold, and a few snacks that are rather less than what I'm used to, such as "muffin tops" (I know, it sounds funny or even silly, but that's exactly what it is!). I ordered a hot "snowy" mocha (Human Bean's own spin on a white mocha) along with an orange cranberry muffin top. Well balanced flavors in the mocha, albeit possibly on the sweet side for some (but I'm a fan of sweets, so hence the disclaimer). And muffin tops seem to work much better in a mobile situation, as you can take bites right out of the bag and you don't have so many crumbs falling about. Friendly and helpful service--the gal working the stand was wearing a Santa Cruz top, so I give her props for that. ;-) read more

On our way through town to Eugene we stopped by for a quick road trip pick me up. The coffee is great! Much better than Starbucks. Delicious americano, loved the fact that they had tons of sugar free syrup flavors, and the chocolate coffee bean on top is a nice touch! Prices were good, and service was friendly. My FAVORITE place to get coffee in Bend. I was on the Dutch Bros bandwagon for quite some time after moving to Bend, but after trying The Human Bean I was hooked! The human bean has amazing drinks for very good prices, most of what I get personally (And yes, I am a regular) is the galaxy which is a green apple rockstar, and their special blue raspberry mix stuff, which is just outstanding. But other then their energy drinks their coffee is also amazing. The large selection they have is really nice if you are looking for something just a little bit special. All in all, I love this coffee shop its great prices, awesome drinks, and all around good customer service; make this shop a very good idea to visit. read more

I have never gotten a drink or any food at this place, so I feel bad leaving only 2 stars but I'm pretty annoyed right now, that's why I'm writing this! I was in a hurry to get a last minute gift card from there to give to someone tonight, I was already running late, but I had looked up the human beans hours before I left to make sure I wasn't going to show up giftless. It said they closed at nine, I got there around 8:10 and I saw that the "OPEN" signs were off but I thought they must have left them off by accident when they opened because they weren't supposed to close for another hour. So I pulled around to the window anyway because I was in desperate need of a gift and they were SUPPOSED to be open. The girl inside just ignored me and didn't look up and just hid deeper into the hut begind the window. That irritated me even more because I wanted to ask why they were closed an hour early. I just needed a simple gift card and if you're going to close at a new time, please make sure the internet is updated with that change!! Please and thank you! And I just wanted to add (I know it's long enough already, sorry) that I work in the food business as well, I know how tiring it can be, making peoples food all day long so I can understand wanting to close a little bit early, but a full hour? You can't just close whenever you want, especially when people are seeing on various sources that you close at 9 pm?! Not 8! That just really frustrates me, especially because all I wanted was a gift card, and it was for someone else. Someone else was depending on me to bring a gift for them. If it had just been for me, If I had stopped randomly to get something for myself and they were unexpectedly closed I would not have written this review.
