I was really disappointed with my visit to this doughnut shop. The doughnuts looked great in the display case, but they were dry and tasted like they had been sitting out for hours. The glaze was stale, and the filling in my cream-filled doughnut had an odd aftertaste. The service didn't help the experience either. The staff seemed uninterested in helping customers and acted annoyed when I asked a simple question about the menu. The shop itself wasn't very clean, with sticky tables and trash left on the floor. Considering the prices, I expected much better quality and service. Unfortunately, I won't be returning and wouldn't recommend this place to anyone looking for fresh, tasty doughnuts. read more

while ordering in the app, they charged my card yet the order did not go through. went to the store to resolve the issue and it took 15 mins for them to even acknowledge me. They only had two people working during lunch rush on a Friday, which is ridiculous. Absolutely no shade to the employees working they were super nice, but I did feel bad for them being the only two people there during a very busy rush-hour. If you are a delivery driver, decline offers to pick up orders here. Online orderers - keep in mind when ordering- drivers might drop the order. Restaurants are supposed to immediately begin orders upon receipt so that they are completed (or near completion) When drivers arrive. That is what they contract when signing up with the delivery apps. Drivers understand that restaurants might be busy, and they may wait a few minutes while they are finishing up or packaging up the order. However, here, they DO NOT start the order until drivers arrive and checks in. Then they put it in queue. If busy, they admit, drivers are last priority. They do so many drive Thrus and in house orders, before they work on a delivery order. Drivers back up in the restaurant waiting. They will wait 20+ minutes. Drivers don't get paid to wait and they get bad grade for being "late" on delivery. When drivers can only earn by how many deliveries they can do in an hour - there is no time for excessive waiting. Otherwise, they won't make minimum wage. I try to explain this to the restaurant, and they don't care. I even explained wthat the ordering system is a toggle key - if too busy, they can turn off...but management/owner is too greedy and wants the orders. They need to do better. As a driver, I will decline all these orders. read more

Took them 15 minutes to fill our order (2 drinks and two pastries). We had to remind them what we ordered. If you like sugar, get their banana bread. It's a smothered thick layer of large sugar crystals over dense bread. Besides the sugar (which I scraped off ), it had little flavor. The coffee and breakfast sandwich were good enough. Went here yesterday because Starbucks across the street was crowded. Big mistake. Next time I'll stick to my usual and brave the wait, but we were in a bit in a rush. Why I'm giving 2 stars: - the coffee isn't good - the barista didn't add a pack of raw sugar like I had asked - we were charged and given an extra kid's smoothie. Next time please confirm orders. I would've corrected you and said, no only one smoothie! - the breakfast sandwich was lukewarm and terrible tasting.You're better off at McDonald's. - the drive thru didn't have a food menu. What's the point if I gave to go inside to see the menu? The person taking our order sounded irked that she had to list everything. - the cashier almost forgot to give us our sandwiches. Just had a smoothie and it was very tasty! The reason I'm putting three stars is because I came here specifically to use the wifi to work on homework and have a smoothie, but the wifi is connected through Facebook and said "They will need to connect the business's router to a Facebook Page to resolve the issue." So unfortunately I drove all the way over here for nothing :( The girls working didn't know how to fix it either. But on the lighter side, the space is beautiful! And it's open till 9pm which makes it nice for us late risers who don't want to deal with the hustle and bustle of downtown. Fix your wifi and I will change this to five stars no problem! The smoothies are amazing and their italian sodas are delicious. While I don't drink coffee, my companions do and they prefer Black Rock over Starbucks. What struck me was that the baristas all are super friendly and I mean they carry a conversation with you, no matter how long that line is. It makes a huge difference! Black Rock coffee has the worse customer service. After several times in the store to order coffee, the young gals completely ignore you. They stand around chatting with each other. If they tell you they'll be with you shortly, shortly can be at least 5 minutes. I only stopped in again because I was going to a store across from them. I won't make the mistake of coming back in to Black Rock, there are too many good coffee shops in Bend. read more

The space itself leaves a lot to be desired as it's "cold" and the acoustics are harsh. NEWS FLASH: the ability to hold a conversation is important to patrons. I'm really happy I decided to come to Black Rock Coffee today to work. It's not as busy as other spots so it's a little quieter and lots of space to work. Also, the chairs at most places are those cold metal chairs, not here. They are wood so they are more comfortable to sit in for a few hours, enjoying a good coffee and getting work done. This place is pretty solid, they have drive through which is a plus! The good - Fast, Good drinks, cool merchandise and good seating. (open later then some other spots) The bad - Wifi is terrible, it's worked maybe one time i've gone, also I can't help but feel like this place is sorta a rip off of some of the bigger Dutch Bros shops, same kinda feel, all kids working, similar drinks. So excited to see black rock here. I moved from San Diego and we had one in North County that I used to frequent. When we spotted the black rock we couldn't resist. The coffee is delicious, the customer service is excellent, the gluten free Berry muffin is the best muffin I've ever had, and my husband loves the breakfast sandwiches when we are on the run. read more
