Looking at me most people would never guess the pain I deal with every day. I look normal so what could be wrong?! Well, I have complex PTSD and my insides constantly feel like they are battling to not explode. The thought of any kind of violence or conflict in my life rendered me immobile and terrified. I called and spoke with Zach. He was so kind taking time to explain everything. I was still worried and explained I needed sometime to think. No pressure was put on me at all. I waited the weekend and called back the next week. This time I talked to Abby. She literally cried with me on the phone with so much concern and love. I took my first class with Zach that Wednesday and had a full mental break down. While still running the class, he came and took care of me. For the first time in my entire life someone comforted me while I was scared. As painful as it was I knew I found a place that could help with my growth. I've been to a few classes now and I will not be stopping soon. I love these people and this class. Every week I look forward to class and become the strong powerful women I am.

However with my kickboxing background from taking the class at the gym + my TAE BO days (if you know you KNOW holla Billy Blanks) I knew it would be something I would probably enjoy. I have a coworker friend that would rave on and on about this place so I decided to give it a try. Pro tip - at the moment, some of the class times are listed on Class Pass, so my fellow insiders can get up on it and sign up! I took the 6:30pm class and got there right on time to jump in. If you're super new I'd recommend that you get there 10-15 mins early to get your wraps and gloves and etc. Wraps are $5 and you can keep them (brand new) which was nice. They also have a ton of super cute merch! Okay back to the workout. There is 15 minutes-"ish" of dynamic stretching and warm up which is nice and will get you sweating. The instructor of the day broke down each movement and focused on technique which was very helpful. They also will correct you if you are doing something wrong which as we all know is helpful in injury prevention and etc. I was pretty tired from teaching classes at the gym all week so I appreciated the corrections. I would however prefer to see more modifications during the dynamic warm up phase. We jumped into a lot of the dynamic movement without any modifiers and with tight hamstrings (endurance sports will sure do that to ya) I NEED options baby! Otherwise it is a booty kicker for sure and you will be tired afterwards. My hands/arms were shaking from taking out all of the week's stress on that punching bag! So come here, check it out, release some stress and you will enjoy. I'll be back to try more classes for sure.

They claimed that I owed them $79 or something for services, but in fact I don't owe them anything because I had notified Katie via text way before the December 2017 billing cycle(in November 2017) that my daughter and I were to be relocating, and she won't be attending class anymore. I didn't get a response from Katie, so I had assumed that she had got my message, and all was well. A month or two later I received a bill stating that I owe these people? Nope. Katie gave me 1 month free back in or around October 2017 give or take because for some reason their automated system had failed to withdrawal my monthly payment from my bankcard on the scheduled due date. Since then I've called and texted Katie directly a couple of times with no response back from her, and I've even called the office and left a couple of messages about this situation as well with no call back. I won't let this company tank my credit score just in case if this small debt that I'm not claiming goes to a collection agency, all because I had notified Katie in writing way before the next billing cycle about our move, and my daughter to stop attending classes for that reason. I'm not sure if I'm the only one that has this issue with trying to reach one of their staff members by text or phone, but my advice is to stay way on top of your game (administrative-wise) when dealing with these people since that's how they do business. ABSOLUTELY DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE PEOPLE!!!!!…read more My kids attended classes here for over a year. Right off the bat, I was not very impressed with the technical side of their instructions as it was not very organized. Lesson plan seemed to be pretty much whatever the instructors were in the mood for that particular day. But, my kids were enjoying themselves, learning some decent skills and conditioning, and they liked the instructors on a personal level, as did I, so we continued to attend and we had fun with Katie and Master Thomas while we were with them. In the course of a year, this business moved 3 times. We thought that was odd, but alright, things happen. On the last time they had to vacate their current building, we were told they would let us know as soon as they got moved into the new building, and where it was located, so we could resume lessons. NOPE! That was the last we ever heard from them. They flat out disappeared. However, they did continue to charge us $155.00 a month for almost a year afterwards! We went through HELL trying to get the payments shut off, but with ZERO answer to phone calls, emails, text message, or ANYTHING ELSE, were not able to do anything about it. Oh! And the billing company they use???? EVEN WORSE! These people walked away, never looked back, then flat out ROBBED us, and many other families, for over $1500 dollars, and never even gave it a second thought. UNBELIEVABLE! In the end, we had to CANCEL the account we used with them to end the payments. Oh! And after that, the third party company had no problem calling us all the time, but ONLY to seek payment for the charges that weren't going through anymore!!!! They STILL had ZERO interest in helping us to solve the problem! It was AFTER we initiated legal action against them and Thomas Academy did they finally agree to close our account! Wow. Just wow. Personally, I will NEVER do business with this company, or any company even affiliated with it ever again, and I will continue to warn as many folks as I can to do the same so that no one else has to go through the absolute nightmare that we have. Very sad the way these folks treat their "customers", but my heart truly breaks for their "students"......

All the staff and instructors are super friendly, helpful, and enthusiastic. There was even an instructor doing all the workouts with us which was motivating. Usually there are iPads with instructions for each station. However, there was a bit more people in the class I went to, so the class was split into 2 large groups with alternating stations. They did their best to keep everyone socially distanced and encouraged masks when not in class. All the instructors wore masks! Definitely check this place out if you're wanting something challenging, but fun! All you need to bring is a good attitude, water, & boxing wraps for the gloves. If you don't have boxing wraps, they are available for purchase for $8 traditional wraps and $12 for the finger fast wraps. First class is FREE :)

However when I went into the studio to cancel my membership just a few weeks ago end of January 2023 I spoke with Kayla to cancel my membership. She was so kind and encouraged me to at least give them a try again because they have a whole new staff since I still had access to the studio till the end of February. I thought it over and decided to give them a try and went to a class hosted by the trainer Cody and it was like Night and Day I throughly enjoyed the class and his encouragement that it reminded me of why I wanted to do this kind of workout in the first place. So when I went in for my second class I had the pleasure of meeting Nick the GM and spoke with him before my class and after my class I chose to cancel my cancellation which they informed me I would keep the price I had been paying. Today 2-15-23 I knew I wanted to add another Rockbox workout to my week. Today the trainer was Silvio and he was as awesome and amazing as Cody. Silvio took the time to show me proper technique in both weights and boxing. He was also extremely encouraging even when I was losing steam on the weights he just told me "you're doing great!" I was able to ask him some questions after class about fitness and his recommendations which isn't always easy to ask and admit you need help. They have been so welcoming and encouraging that I'm throughly enjoying my happiness journey and looking forward to seeing how I can change with their classes. If you're on the fence I highly encourage you to give them a try because they do understand that everyone is at a different fitness level and won't force you to go beyond what you can do but they will encourage you to do more.

I only had two sets left, mind you, and my sweater was on machine, I was getting ready to sit in it and use it, and the employee starts unracking my weights. I said "excuse me, I am using this and he said well we are moving it"! Never ever would this happen at 24 hour fitness or any other commercial big or small private gym. They know how to put their patrons first at those other places. IF he actually was taught to put members first, he would've let me finish the extra three minutes it would have taken me to complete my sets... never going back here. Or they could've put a sign to not use machine, like all other gyms in the world do. I have been a personal trainer all my life and never have I witnessed anything like what happened to me here today. If you're serious about your workouts and your time in the gym, don't bother with this incompetent staff that doesn't know how to put paying members first. What I experienced today is like eating at a restaurant and while you're in the middle of taking a bite of your half eaten burger, the waiter comes to your table and grabs your plate with your fries from underneath you. Who does that? LOL. But that is not the worst of it.. after the manager talks to me, the rude employee that kicked me off my machine (older man) comes over to where I am and rolls his eyes and tells me "get over it"!!! I've never been spoken to so poorly by a grown man. Shame on him for speaking to a lady that way. Zero respect, zero common sense, zero gym etiquette or know how. These people are running a joke of an establishment and their employees know nothing about serious training or why people actually go to the gym and yet they work at a gym.
